  • The factory videos make it look much easier than it is. The old bushings are dried, cracked and stuck. New bushings are very tight. But there are ways to make it all work. Problems are resolved in this video.

A little silicone spray on the rubber bushings will help the install.

A dab of that grease on the bolt as it goes through the metal tube will facilitate an easier job next time.

Everybody I know drills a hole in the body for bolt removal. Never lube rubber with grease or oil…it will eat the rubber. I use Dawn liquid soap, works great. Bushing kits from eBay or Amazon are harder rubber, made in China…they tend to break up in short time…I now pay extra at local Club Car dealer for genuine OEM parts….same with brake shoes & battery cables. 3rd party just don’t work or fit correctly.

Amazon also sells the same set of bushings with bolts and nuts for just $5 more

Did you replace the rear shocks? Would you need to remove to body to get top bolts off of the shocks? (question for the front shocks too)

I did not replace them. It was not bouncing when I hit bumps. You can easily get to the shock absorber bolts without removing anything else.

Removal of the body is not required to replace the rear shocks.

Rubber and grease don’t mix….I use Dawn liquid soap which works just as well. Otherwise good video.

Those springs look bent. Alas, the hole in the plastic is not necessary. Either cut the head of bolt or use a large screw driver or prybar to lift the plastic while pushing the bolt out. Install the new bolt from the opposite direction, the nut will slip in, no problem.

Springs aren't bent. Maybe it's the camera angle. There are a lot of bolts to remove the top fiberglass body, even just to raise it up. The hole is not in a place to cause a problem. Cutting the head off? I still have to get the new bolt and bushing in on that side.

That bolt looks too big, like 3/8 inch it should be 5/16 inch diameter

Factory spec is for 3/8". The old tubes worked great. The new tubes were too small. Others on Amazon had the same complaint.
