I saw this when it was released and positively loved it, I ended up buying a copy on VHS direct from NHPTV in the mid 90's. So glad to see it available online!
Good eye Robert🧿 met u in Boston in the 80's& have been inspired by your travels since, living vicariously. Thankyou& i hope your big toe is better. Awe bears.
Even thought I don't remember seeing this years ago, there seems to be some parts I "feel" I remember. I enjoyed it very much, as always, thanks for posting.
what a wonderful documentary, yes that man who shot the bear for sport , should have defiantly thank the bear and ate the meat, maybe a few drops of tobacco on the bear I hate hunters who just shoot for sport . I admire your respect of nature . the scene of you with the baby bears was so beautiful you are so blessed to have been able to do this .
Fond memories of this serene travelogue. Thanks for making it available online!

Beautiful work. Your sonorous voice mirrors the calming effect of paddling and being in nature. Thank you so much for sharing.
I agree 👍!
This is the first film of yours I ever saw. Liked it then, got hooked, and still like it now after about 100 views.
Cheers from Montreal!
Wise words about sport
Saw this back in 94/95. I grew up along that river in Greenfield Mass.

The hypocrisy is hilarious 🤣 I completely destroyed a few trees to make my recreational vehicle.
