I've only recently discovered your adventures & films Robert. This one touched me deeply. There is such substance in your productions, these are much, much more than simply travelogues. You're a sensitive and intelligent human being alright with your priorities in just the right place. Greetings from the UK.

Wow, a beautiful but sad story. The hardships that one must sometimes endure are not on solo wilderness trips, those are easy compared to the helpless felt when a loved one is ill or when they leave this earth. Thanks for sharing your and Irene's journey through the wilderness and life.

Oh wow...such beauty and tragedy in two lives...but two lives that live and still live, love and are still loved for as you both acknowledged, from death comes life in an ever changing cycle. I see it all the time when photographing trees that have fallen for one reason or another..they carry on, but in a changed form. Their essence is taken further by the algaes and mosses, the insects and the birds...listen closely for she s always there...in the birdsong, or the howl of a wolf or the gentle breeze upon the shoreline. Physically she maybe gone to your touch but not in voice, for she will always be heard. Take care.

Set it up, take it down, set it up again does indeed grow tiresome on along trip. But each set up and each take down marks more than just a tiresome routine…does it not? Enjoyed and was moved by your film and am just now reading "Talking To Angels" and enjoying it as well. Thanks for both gifts!

"Killing birds and animals is murder there's no other word for it" is a little absurd. There is another word for it, actually several. Killing and murder are not synonymous lol so ridiculous. I agree with respecting and eating the game they harvest, but equating it with murder is ridiculous. Even the bible distinguishes killing from murder.

Thank you for your comment…. I’d say there are levels of respect and appreciation for life. To take a life can be seen many ways.
I’ve a similar disagreement with people who consider hunting a sport….. a sport is like tennis or football where willing contestants agree to get together….you could even include skiing where it’s a contest between you and the mountain……Applied to hunting birds or deer I’ve never heard of a deer or bird consenting to be part of the ‘sport.’
I admire Cleveland Amory who turned the 2d amendment gun rights argument on its head by creating the bumper sticker that said, “I support my right to arm bears.”
