Due to strong winds forecast, ATC in Zurich decides to cancel our slot due to a reduction in capacity. We avoid thunderstorms on descent into the UK. www.theflyingvlog.uk/visiting-zurich/
Nice one - What's the reason for FL160 - better winds / weather up there or is that the only level Euro Control could offer? Couldn't quite make out your TAS on the Aspens but do you lose much speed at those altitudes? Anyway, looks like the aircraft can do the journey in one go, so fuel burn must be commendably low. Keep up the good work 👍
Good question! I just looked at a flight (next vlog) where I did FL150 and FL160 (due to ATC request) and 113 IAS, I was getting 146kt TAS. At FL160 I got 115 IAS, and 151KT TAS. Basically, there's no difference, and it varies by a few knots. Better winds, better levels and better flight plans are normally the choice for a higher level. The fuel burn is very low, JetA1. Thanks for watching 👍
It caused a total replan of accommodation, the girls' work, and a lot of apprehension. Weather was far worse over France the day before so - it was a blessing.
I've got a complex oxygen system setup with EDS system to lengthen the amount of time you can have oxygen at high altitudes. Will plan on a vlog about this for the summer months :)

@@TheFlyingVLOG thanks for the reply.
No worries at all :) Hope that helped?
Not too much of a hardship to spend a little longer there was it Robbie?

@@TheFlyingVLOG + Zurich is expensive AF :D
You aren't wrong sadly. It wasn't the case up and until recently they put the parking fees up 700%+
Do you use an oxygen generator or actual oxygen bottles?

@@TheFlyingVLOG Awesome would love to know more about that!
Sure! It's definitely something I am looking to record and speak about, and also a detailed blog.
