Soft tissue ultrasound would NOT be the way to diagnose cancer. This is often used to identify if an abscess is present.

How much is normal epidermis layer....when it should be thickened...at what mm...

The epidermis/dermis layer is not really the focus of soft tissue ultrasound. The subcutaneous fat is where the pathology will be located. This is where you look for the changes.
