not gonna lie when he got his hair down his locs look fire🔥
How come some of them are really thin at the root?
He keeps splitting them
The thin ones at the root looks like they’re the one’s closest to the hairline, which would be thinner than the rest anyways, but his thinning like that looks to be from him cutting his hair. He might’ve snipped at his locs on accident while trying to line himself up.

Same thing is happening to mine. I have around the same amount. I think it's a combination of styling (two strand twists or braids) with finer texture areas. You should do thicker parts if you want to style a lot imo

Yes, our brothers and sisters who have long locks are going to feel the weights. I’m not sure about the looser curl locks or straight hair but I know for a sisters and brothers who have 3B between 3B and 4C hair we’re going to feel that weight
So true my hair just happens to be in that 3b texture AND I have thick locs. Around 2 years in and the weight is real. Plus they are like HEAVY heavy when wet

Is build up inevitable?
No.I have 0% build-up in my dreads. Don't use any products apart from reside free shampoo & water.

I got straight hair locs and my hair is really thick and down to my chest and its not heavy at all.
Last time i did take a cool drink Straw to cut my hare the same size because of the dye and the hair break off....now its fine
Stop cutting them when they loc up they will shrink for in the first year

Hey Gunther I’ve had my dreads for over 3 years and I don’t know if I want to cut them or comb them out and start over. Could you help out?
Ik im not him😂 but I decided that when it comes time for me to do the same I will comb 1 or 2 out to see the true health of them and how much length retention I have then I would make my decision on whether to comb or cut my hair so I’m also not waisting time,and if you cut the you can always reattach them later… and depends on how much time you got to comb them out I hope this helps you make your decision lol
@@theskylife8412 thank you 🤣🫶🏾 my hair type is a 4A, and I dyed them too early and often 🤦🏾♂️. So some popped off and I had to get them reattached, then they popped off again. So I think I might just start over.

I have comb coil start locs but I have 3b hair and i work out a lot and they get a little loose and frizzy should I use a crochet Needle to give them matured ?
It’s not a bad option I had to do that about 11 years ago. It made the journey much easier
