I combed mine out recently.....soo emotional..but the relief on my scalp
The reason why I like your dreadlocks is because there is a character on each of them.
And by character I mean the difference between instant dreadlock & gel twisting dreadlock outcome.
Yours has that curly skinny dreadlock. While instant locks has that flat pencil or whiteboard marker kind of looks.
I will try to achieve looks like yours but this not the only reason why.
Because the top of my hair is currently thinning out and my hairline start to go haywire, twisting with gel while taking supplement for hair growth. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
So until the hair grows, I can maintain my locks once a month for 180days probably.

Just cut mine after 4 years today!!!....Gave me a cleaner, grown man look...ALL THE LADIES love it everywhere! Even Walmart!!!! And if you from Atlanta it's so tough dating here but so far I think I've opened a lot of women eyes cause now they can see the features on my face a little bit clearer! I'm 37 but with my dreads I look a lil bit young so this definitely gave me a mature look....but I did appreciate both my dread journeys(2) but as I move forward into my Grownman-Hood I think my wife will finally with this look👌🏽

I am one of the ones that yes I did regret it so I re-attached them! I had mine for10 yrs & I made them nicely thin. My son who had locs all the way down his back didn’t tell me from a grade schooler cut them right b4 going into the Air Force

Locs take time and money to maintain is why most people cut them or it’s because they can’t get a job. Last time I cut my hair was because of my job interview for the military. I cut my locs because my mum made me and to be fair they looked nasty but they were still developing
we have the crown laws now protecting us from being denied a job because of our hair
So glad I‘m living in Europe where laws protect individuals against discrimination. When I started working in the financial business I had no locs but a small afro. Later then I got locs and now they are part of me. I can style them in a appropriate manner if needed too. I face a lot of jealousy though - that’s the price you pay for having locs I guess.
