Where are you girl?? I just found your channel and i found the videos your way of teaching Dutch is so practical and easy to understand. Please keep making these videos!! I really hope you will see my comments!!
@topaztrex I'm a native speaker from Belgium. We pronounce all our words beginning with the letter 'w' using the Dutch one. In the Netherlands it's the same. Greetings from Belgium!
Thanks a lot for your videos! I'm Ecuadorian and I'm studying at the Uni. of Leiden for a year. I knew nothing about Dutch but now with your help I'm not so lost :) Keep up the good work!
@dutchforn00bs I'm from the US, Ohio to be exact. Some of my family lives in Wassenaar so I got to stay there in 2007 and I also visited Leiden, Den Haag and Amsterdam a few times. I fell in love with Amsterdam and the Netherlands and I wish americans would be more like the dutch.
perfect timing. i just started learning regular verbs. i got a dutch dictionary in the mail and i'm starting to memorize them. i haven't posted a dutch video on my channel in a while but i'll post another one soon
Thank you SO MUCH for these videos!!!!!!! I am going to be a missionary in the Netherlands and am currently learning dutch. This helps a ton. Thank you!
@nenalyzed I know. and I'm not sure what you mean by the vowels get deleted thing.. I said that they have to remove one if there's too of the same letters, so I think that covers everything.
Weet, Lees, Ren, Ga, Blijf. :) I was confused about Rennen, I thought maybe after removing the double n, you double the e? Thank you so much for your videos! I hope to move to the Netherlands one day but if they don't allow me to stay, I may just study abroad there.
thank you sooo much for uploading this videos ;) every year im going to texel,well there are a few things i can say but im trying to learn more now and you are a big help!
Thank you so much for this video and many more!! I am learning dutch for a few months now and my teacher is not so good. I tried to get her to give some rules about how to find the stem and she couldn't, which was very frustrating. so thank you again!
we devoice at the end of words (it's called word-final devoicing) oh and you say that we just remove the n if the word doesn't end with -en. I think it's also important to say that some of the vowels get deleted. (if they apply one of the other rules they might get to the same result, too us that's pretty normal, but I don't know if none native speakers will find it equally logical.
I just started learning Dutch about two months ago, and one of the big problems I'm having is the word order in certain types of sentences (usually in questions). I just subscribed, btw, not sure if you have a video on this yet, but I'm still looking through them. :P
i cant believe this is so easy for me lol :D i learned to read time by just watching the video only once :P i understood these verbs so easy u are great teacher :P
@dutchforn00bs Hi there! I'm doing a master in math, and have lectures in A'dam and Utrecht every week. You study linguistics right? That's so cool I love languages!
Thanks for the wonderful lesson, it was difficult for me to understand after being taught by my teacher, but with you everything became simple and easier for me, Bedankt voor jij helpen, ik houd van u en uw onderwijs, keep it up
I love your language. I have watched your videos and I have tried to speak it but here where I live we don't use Dutch, so, that makes it harder for me. Thanks for the videos!!!
@sangXroyal True. These verbs are irregular. In that case, remove just the -n to find the stem: ga, sta, zie, doe, sla. "Zijn" is even "more" irregular. It has no sense to know the stem of "zijn" and "hebben" because the declination is totally different and you must just learn: ik ben - jij bent - hij is, etc.
@dutchforn00bs yeah, you did say that, but you said it in a different rule (sometimes it's difficult to take rules that you've seen in a certain context and apply them in an other context) but you're probably right. You did cover it after all, and I think @28867379 proved that it was clear because he applied the right rule for that particular example.
that's the best Dutch videos I've ever seen .I mean ur videos on UA-cam I really like them and I'm really want to speak Dutch so do u know where I can find some kind of many words to complete to ur grammar lessons?
Cool lesson, thanks a bunch. Might I know if you're from a certain part of the Netherlands that has a distinct accent? Or do most Dutch people typically speak with your accent?
@28867379 rennen = renn -en. that way you have an extra n (which makes no sense because those two consonants give exactly the same sound as 1 n. Therefore we apply a rule that deletes the extra n. so renn becomes ren.
Hi Lidewij, This vid is very good. You have made this straight forward and simple. Just have to go over the vid a few times. I ment to give you a comment on the Telling Time - Watching you pronounce "uur" was very helpful! One can't get it very well just by listening to tapes. A vid you might want to consider is that "sch". It's different from the English "sh" but I'm not quite sure how to form the sound. Looks like you're the new Dutch Lady. Later.
Am confused about something. why is the that the Dutch say it's half past the hour the clock is going to, instead of half past the present hour? e.g. 1:30.. They say it's 2:30. this drives me crazy. does anyone else feel the same? is this really the correct way of time telling?
ik kom uit eritrea nederland taal is makkelijk voor me, ik ben nieuw hier in holland,maar ik ben lezen in de youtube. and aslo i would like to appreciate you ,i like the way teaching in this video from other teachers so contineu as it is,special for me you are my awesome.

Hello, all respect for your work. I was looking desperatly to find some information about the order of the words in dutch. I hope you will take consideration about this and hel us the "poor"people. Grtz
@nenalyzed also, I was just trying to help, but I didn't want to sound offensive or anything. I think I was just happy that I was able to throw in one of the terms that I do know after extensive studying this subject last year. I suck at linguistics. I can do the basic stuff like this, but I'm no match for the advanced linguistics that are part of my course. so sorry if I sounded harsh or something. You know I love this channel and I think it's really cool that you're doing this :D
hahaha het is echt heel grappig om zo je eigen taal uitgelegd te zien, en om het te horen. Maar ben jij engels over nederlands?/are you english or dutch? in beide gevallen: goed accent
You are a real teacher.
Thank you!

@GryffynSkateboards hey! there should be a regular verbs part II somewhere that explains just that!
perfect timing. i just started learning regular verbs. i got a dutch dictionary in the mail and i'm starting to memorize them. i haven't posted a dutch video on my channel in a while but i'll post another one soon
Just finished seen all your videos, at least untill now...and i really liked it! It helped me a lot!
Tot de volgende keer!
Thank you SO MUCH for these videos!!!!!!! I am going to be a missionary in the Netherlands and am currently learning dutch. This helps a ton. Thank you!
Greetings from Los Angeles! Loving these videos! Hartelikj bedankt.
@nenalyzed I know. and I'm not sure what you mean by the vowels get deleted thing.. I said that they have to remove one if there's too of the same letters, so I think that covers everything.
@PumbaDesTodes I'm glad it helps :) You get Dutch in school? Where are you from?
@Fokaaah777 why yes I am!
Weet, Lees, Ren, Ga, Blijf. :)
I was confused about Rennen, I thought maybe after removing the double n, you double the e?
Thank you so much for your videos! I hope to move to the Netherlands one day but if they don't allow me to stay, I may just study abroad there.
@PumbaDesTodes Ohh, uni where? :) I go to uni in Utrecht :D
I absolutely enjoy watching your videos. Thank you so much!!
@cartografos Yes :) One mistake, it's IJ not Y :) They're different letters.
@lianneinthebigworld rawr. thanks for saying that xD I really hope it's.. clear ;D
@SrAndresAmor You use either rule 1 or rule 2, not both. The way you did it is correct :D
Where are you from? :)
Thanks! My sister lives in the Netherlands, in Zaltbommel and has lived ther for 10 years so I figured I should learn Dutch!
There videos are so helpful! Love them!
@HojoOSanagi correct, yes! Your dialect has it's own spelling, too?
thank you sooo much for uploading this videos ;) every year im going to texel,well there are a few things i can say but im trying to learn more now and you are a big help!
Thank you so much for this video and many more!! I am learning dutch for a few months now and my teacher is not so good. I tried to get her to give some rules about how to find the stem and she couldn't, which was very frustrating. so thank you again!
@dutchforn00bs Thanks. I hoped they were correct. Been learning Dutch for over a year. I would be concerned if I got one wrong. :D
Hoi! Good observation, 'komen' is an exception :)
Similar verbs do follow the pattern you suggest for komen (so: stromen - stroom).
Stems: Weet, Lees, Ren, Ga, and Blijf? In my language it's weet, läs, ran, go, and blief, so I think that's right.
Keep up the excellent job! You are awesome, beautiful dutch girl. Great lessons.
Like your lessons a lot😊
You are awesome Thank you!!!
What is the most important basic words In your opinion tourists?
@recipesfromahat genau ;D
Thanks soo much, Long live and prosperity.

@a1f0n5o cool! :D I study linguistics, yes! In Utrecht :)
@CosmicScaleFactor yesss, correct :)
we devoice at the end of words (it's called word-final devoicing)
oh and you say that we just remove the n if the word doesn't end with
-en. I think it's also important to say that some of the vowels get deleted.
(if they apply one of the other rules they might get to the same result,
too us that's pretty normal, but I don't know if none native speakers will find it
equally logical.
@ramosovids "ren" ("rennen" has double N") but everything else is correct! :D
These are great videos!!! Very fun to watch and, hey, I'm even learning some Dutch.
@razryadom yes. :).
I just started learning Dutch about two months ago, and one of the big problems I'm having is the word order in certain types of sentences (usually in questions). I just subscribed, btw, not sure if you have a video on this yet, but I'm still looking through them. :P
@topaztrex I assume the Dutch one, as I'm not sure what a German W is..

I love your language. I have watched your videos and I have tried to speak it but here where I live we don't use Dutch, so, that makes it harder for me. Thanks for the videos!!!
This is quite complex but you've done a great job explaining it :)
weten weet
lezen lees
rennen ren
gaan ga
blijven blijf
@sangXroyal it's 'ga', 'sta', 'zie', 'doe', 'sla', yes. 'Zijn' is irregular, so it doesn't really have a stam.
Keep up the good work! This stuff is really helpful to me as a norwgian noob in dutch :P
hi am julius.i love your videos very much and am trying my best to learn from them.keep it up
@a1f0n5o Cool! What are you studying? :)
@SrAndresAmor I love Amsterdam

Your videos are great, please don't stop upload some more.
Thanks ^^
Dank je wel! You made it so clear
Thank you so much! So clear and concise!
@sangXroyal True. These verbs are irregular. In that case, remove just the -n to find the stem: ga, sta, zie, doe, sla. "Zijn" is even "more" irregular. thank you for taking the time to teach others!

waw thank you i like the way you teach. am from eritrea i love u also
Thanks so much! Your lessons are very helpful and fun! Keep on!: ))
you are so awesome :) This is quite complicated but you explained it perfectly
Weten --> Wet --> Weet (rule 2).
Lezen --> Lez --> Lees (rule 2 & 3).
Rennen --> Renn --> Ren (rule 1).
Gaan --> Gaa --> Ga (rule 1).
Blijven --> Blijv --> Blijf (rule 3).
@jeeschav yess :)
I love you, and the dutch !!!
perfect lesson. I love it. thank a lot sister
i love the sound of your language.you are a good teacher,you can speak more in dutch to learn the sound and not much grammar,thanks for all
Good !
@28867379 Yes, you are. First you remove the -en, then apply either 1 or 2 (if needed), then use the 3rd (if needed).
Cool lesson, thanks a bunch. Might I know if you're from a certain part of the Netherlands that has a distinct accent? Or do most Dutch people typically speak with your accent?
weten/know
lezen / read
rennen / run
gaan/ go
blijven/stay
you're the best teacher which i have seen yat.
Wissen, lesen, rennen, gehen, bleiben
@xxcestmoi Ik ben Nederlands :)
great video :) very helpful!
Omg, I love that you give homework! It is so helpful.
@28867379 rennen = renn -en.
that way you have an extra n (which makes no sense because
those two consonants give exactly the same sound as 1 n.
Therefore we apply a rule that deletes the extra n.
so renn becomes ren.
thanks, this does help me a lot.

The logic is this: When we are HALFWAY three o'clock we say "Half drie" (1/2 - 3) So, it's not 3 o'clock yet...
ik kom uit eritrea
