I think people should go and try the thing before actually talking about it.
Sometimes you can be humbled by something you don't know like many were when bjj started swarming the martial arts community back in the days.
Silat is a super profound art in terms of biomechanics, exploiting angles advantages and weapon fighting. The thing is there are a huge amount of styles and of course you should search a little about them.
There are a few that only practice standing, others that are more for sports and competition... I've used a lot of silat on sparring and works for me, so I encourage you guys to try it!

You Do not Know Anything About Silat it is not Meant for Sport Like UFC , It is Meant for Killing Your Enemy Fast With deadly blow without Any Rule, Silat has weapons and Techniques that are not allowed in UFC Mix Martial Art . Silat Weapons are extremely deadly like Karambit, Golok Swords hand to hand. SILAT is meant only for Killing and Hunting without Mercy that's All. No other Comment is Required..

Hi everyone, you can compare street fight, martial arts and fighting sport. Some have rules, other no limit, some are traditional, some use weapons, others are wearing clothes etc.. Be aware that in MMA (UFC is a organisation), there is not (for example Kendo) ?!! So I wonder why there are not in UFC 😅 WELL it's logical isn't it. So please stop to criticize and enjoy diversity as knowledge... cause you might be surprise.

@@bethelacademyofmartialarts3966 And Bjj or Newaza as it should be called is also bullshit for street defence. And ive did 10 years plus under Inosanto and Cas Magda linage.... Wasted my time on this fantasy crap. At the time tho i though it was great. But I realise now how utterly useless it is in actual combat.
