Watching your videos has been so helpful and informative. I hope to go into an LVN program in 2021. Currently, I work in healthcare and I hear a lot about this in the hospital environment. Hang in there, it’ll get better. Praying for you 🙏🏽❤️.

Do you think you would have better luck with another unit? (MSU is an interesting unit lol) Also, the pharmacist is there to help you with any questions regarding contraindications ( I work in pharmacy). I definitely get what you are saying about the toxic hospital environment bc it’s not just nurses, It’s almost everywhere in the hospital unfortunately, But time does help. Love your videos. I am starting nursing school next year after being in pharmacy for over 14 years.

That's awesome! Wishing you much success! I'm pretty sure it's probably just this unit I'm having trouble with. After a year or two here I'm sure I'll be happy in a diff unit. Maybe L&D or even outpatient nursing. I'll see what God has in store for me. Who knows.

Hang in there Queen! Try to stay in Med surg. My professor recommends getting at least 2 years of med surg experience b/c you get to learn a lot.
I am scared for the future because we are doing clinicals online and I don’t feel confident in any of the skills at all. What do u recommend?

I was in the same boat with my last semester of clinicals at the beginning of the year. We had to do some online simulations instead. I'd recommend getting a nurse assistant position or unit clerk if your life/schedule allows for it, just so you can gain some insight into what you're in for. Plus it would be good for job prospects once you take NCLEX. You'll already have your foot in the door as far as a job prospect.

I been a tech for 15yrs in the hospital and I’m not interested in hospital nursing. It’s so toxic, drama filled etc. I was a medical assistant also. currently I am a lpn student and I’ll probably try to go back to the clinic life

I hope things improve for you. These updates are great but they are scary. It is sobering bc imaginings is never like reality. I saw nurses leave unhappy workplacesas early as 6 months into being new. Time for you to bounce. I knew for sure that I don't like hospital nursing when I did my last clinical on one. The atmosphere is different. Very busy and crazy and I didn't like the way nurses acted sometimes. They were ok to me but I still saw the way some acted. My favorite clinical was in long term. I do think it was the people more than anything else and I love working with older people than middle age and young. Kids, No thanks. I want to work in hospice and or palliative specifically with cancer patients. Lord I hope the nurses and staff are kind. I am a very nervous person and thinking about this makes my stomach tight.

Just keep in mind this is just MY experience. You just might have a better experience. Don't want to discourage you. :) Funny you mentioned hospice. I've also thought about hospice in the past week!
