BOYS BETTER
Boys had better beware
You could seem to color your hair
Or on a wig, you already spent
All the dough to cover your rent
But not so cool, man if you care
For all the other boys caught in your bleach-job hair
And girls better beware
Boys, you better, you better, yeah
Boys had better beware
You could seem a wasted affair
And like a bitch, you already spent
All the dough you promised your friends
But not so cool, man if you care
For all the other boys caught in your bleach-job hair
And girls better beware
Boys, you better, you better, yeah

Yes Zia was absolutely gorgeous and Very talented Talented 😊
big ass a house now !
Seriously underrated track. One of the best songs of all time!
It's such a groove. Windows down, driving at night in the Summer.
I loved listening to it on the beach in Cyprus together with Buddy Hollys well alright
One of the coolest songs of the 90's. Period
Totally.
and videos
Cool, but not coolest, the early to mid 90's for many of us was somewhat like the psychedelic era 60's in attitude only upside down and 30 years on. before everything got cashed in by the corporates.
Everytime i listen to their songs i think about coffee shops, books, old record stores and other hipster things / urban life
Terrific video, stonkingly good song!!!
Would love to see them in concert...they should be on Glasto Bill!!!!❤
They are on their world tour atm. I'm seeing them here in Australia for the 2nd time in a few weeks 🎉❤
Simply sublime ♡♡♡
I saw them in San Diego, and although I was happy to be there, the sound was horrible. The venue and their setup was not working well together . Not a single lyric to be understood.
I’ve seen them live… they’re fantastic 🎉🎉🎉
I wish I heard this on the radio instead, when I was younger. I would have had a chance to be cooler sooner. ❤️Much love homies.
1997! Christ I feel old. The future isn't what it used to be.
It never is...
Facts
you have kids, right?
This video is a fantastic expression of 90’s Alt-Rock cool kid tude. If that era was soon to end, what a way to go out.
1997- Wandered into my favorite record store (now gone) and they had this album featured on their CD listening stations, the catchy riffs and layers of trippy sound! Snapped up a copy immediately! Gen X - the last great era of serious rock and roll.
I love this video (and song), it has a really authentic fun vibe. So much great footage of the Dandy's in the 90's and you almost feel like you're back in time on a trip with them
Potato Chipperson because you are. It’s a music video from the 90s.
The band that is both your boyfriend and girlfriend simulator.. love you back
Has that great neo-psychedelic vibe!
I have to say that this is one of the top ten videos of all time.
I miss them Dandies!! ❤🤘😄🤘❤
Greeeeaaaat band to have seen live…and man, that raw powerhouse keyboard /guitar/drums/vocal groove is so good cranked up really loud.
the song has such a groovy drive, love it
Zia was a total Gen-X goddess.
She still is baby?
Heard she moved to Real Estate..... What The Fuck
@@mattconnolly2226 😂
Too young for Gen-X. That's not a bad thing
@@edhelvey Zia McCabe was born in 1975. Well within most definitions of Generation X.
one of the cool bands.
Time tested for me. Always a good listen while roaming the highways.
Still rocking this to my washing up as a boring grown up in 2021
I love those freaks!
One day I'm going to travel through America and Portland will be my Mekka.
Damn bad ads James rite
Love how they exude so much cool while sounding so good!
I used to listen this song while driving in downtown Seattle. The vibe felt right.
I'm sure it made Seattle better. I was stuck there for twenty years. Seattle is San Francisco without the charm.
Saw them in Chicago back in the day. God I miss them! Fabulous show!
They are still touring.
@@karenmurphy4653 oh I realize that. I was just saying that it’s been a while since I had seen them. Hope to catch them again soon.
This song has peak vibe written all over it
Lol right at the middle when all you want is a smoke or good weed lol
I love that the girl has her top off too. Equal opportunity all the way!
Zia McCabe was a free-the-nipple pioneer who gets little-to-no credit. When we’d see them, she used to bounce her tits to the rhythm. It was mesmerizing and empowering. 🙌
I think that was the exact point she was making. "The boys do it, so why can't I?"
The only band you ever need DANDYS forever maaaaaan
I miss the 90s.
watch it at 44"... at last i saw them... Zia i love you
I already know you guys know how lucky you are to have her Zia has to be a blast to be around and I would imagine someone that's got your back like this song in the video super nice thing to feature her I know I'm crushing but that's okay right how can you not ❤. My wife understand or I'd keep it to myself but it's much cooler to just say what you feel
Just when i thought i have seen all the dandy warhols vidoes i find one where Zia has got her rack out. Fantastic !!! (0:45)
Look around online and she's got everything out in some places.
I want more of your songs.. please keep making such awesome music.. world needs you
This is some kind of high vibe feel good frequency I will never tire of.
Dood i just saw dandy warhols tonight and i'm seeing spiritualized a week from now.
this is a song not just about a band, its about the whole generation....
I'm gen Z and I can agree with you
I was born in 93 and from everything I've researched about the 90's your right
@@mankuro Having lived through multiple generations (I was born in ‘68: old Gen Xer), I have to say, the early- to mid-90s was pretty freaking great.
@@recynd77 So you were 22 when the 90's began lol. Freaking awesome lol. You came of age in the 80's which is also cool
@@mankuro It was pretty great, and I took FULL advantage. I’m an L.A. native, and I started going to clubs pretty young.
I stopped early, too: I had stopped going out completely when I got engaged in 1990, so I completely missed the “Entourage”-era LA scene of the early-90s and most of the music (I didn’t miss The Breeders, tho!).
By dumb luck, we moved to Seattle in ‘94, when I was about 26 and still young enough to still have fun. Seattle was AMAZING back then. It was so innovative and fresh and intimate, the opposite of LA.
And now I’m old and boring and okay with it, but it’s fun to look back on it sometimes. They really were some good times: the last, idyllic days just before the Internet.
I never even saw it coming.
God, I miss the 90s.
if i ever feel down, i switch on the Dandys and i soon feel like the coolest man alive
Can't wait to finally see them this Saturday!
This is making me remember the crush i had on my friend back then. We would bartend all night playing the Dandies loud, when we closed the bsr he and I would play it louder and do as we wished. Good Old Fashioned seattle.
Ain't heard this one for a while...hard to believe how old this track is...seems like yesterday it was out.
How can it be that it's been 25 years since that album was released...
Great track from their best album.
IMO it was all downhill after this LP
Courtney's look at 2:33 is the official picture of the American dream.
Peter Holmstrom: Hottest guitarist ever.
Legends see you in Brisbane !!!
the best band in the universe , the xxxl best of all ! LOVE
Golden age of the Dandys! Things fell apart after Come Down. I still liked some of their songs after that but not as much as the first 2 albums.
This is rock ‘n’ roll
GREAT SUPER BAND
Best.
Song.
Ever.
Why would I listen to this repeatedly? The instrumentals are reminiscent of where I grew up. It's a borderlands between suburbs, farmland, and light industry (including a county airport). People rode motorcycles. Mainly dirt bikes. So all those sounds are in there. It makes me feel secure again and a little 1960s British keyboards. Pennsylvania is Mid-Atlantic, but in Pittsburgh, we got a heavy dose of British Invasion (due to Carnegie Mellon University?).
Tschad Blake mixed this song (and the whole album) so great
2:11 to 2 14 = Best 3 seconds of any music video ever. :D
I can just hear some clueless oaf asking Zia these days, "So , what did you do before you became a realtor?"
Man, didn't know she was doing that. Thx for the update.
what about growing up?
@@cheubs How about "Shut the Fuck Up?" Zia's a really cool, sweet person, and immune to your lame fundamentalist, Amish-like criticism. Go tend to your ponies, and leave the rest of us to admire her contributions without your dumb, deluded commentary, ya stupid cunt.
Great song and video
For a while there I thought this was the best rock song ever recorded. Then I thought, "nah, that's gotta be hypberbole, you're just feeling it right now." Then After I listened to it hundred of more times and never tired of it I thought, "yeah. best rock song ever written." The tits don't hurt, either.
The best band ever
More bands need a Zia.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COURTNEY!!!!
Underrated track
Best Dandy's song by far.
take me back in time please take me now to this
Amen
Return to this song
The dandy warhols come down fantastic album title
Bought the single..indie classic!
If anyone that watches this skateboards... next time your out.. listen to this song full volume... it'll make you land 900's ;D it gets you so amped!
i just love this band...see you in Amsterdam 14th of july!
Long live Alternative Rock
Love the Dandys forever.
This band just fucking has it all. Riffs beats lyrics and a sincere if not fuck off some times attitude , but every tune is a killer...so there
Zia needs to relax and let them hang out!🤣Lol
song has such retro neil young vibe to it….
I fucking love this band.
Powerful stuff! Come back to Minneapolis SOON.
Where are you guys now.. 2020
Outstanding
-1:44 onwards best part my god it transcends you to another subconscious level , which very few bands can achieve
I saw Zia's bouncing at many shows in the 90s.
Tune!
Fuck me. Now THAT is a video. Made the song better. Made the band better. Made everything better for four minutes and twenty-seven seconds. I'm going to do it again.
legends ..
Brilliant
wow, never heard of them, but it's raw as f**k
Vuelvan Warhols , esta es su musica que nos volaba la cabeza. queremos estos dandys , no los que copian bjm, ni las baladitas nuevas de taylor.
Whatta tune.
Oh hey my speakers are working!
like to watch zias wiggle, goes with the trancy music.
Watch again 😉
I came here because of Magic Mike, but I have to say that thank god I found this song. By the way im 40
Has a sort of 1967-68 sound.
Neil Young
Great
? ? Does anybody know what video the Dandy Warhols did with lots of dogs please.
Smoke It
the boys better forever
Sweet fuck. I'll always love this band😊😊
Neil Young needs cover this
That initially sounds super-dumb, but then also super interesting! I kinda wanna see it now!
@@rollomaughfling380 I thought it was Neil Young 20yrs ago! Sounds just like Neil Young song
Total Neil Young vibe
I thought it was Neil Young, first time hearing it +20yrs ago.
One coolest scenes in a movie.
"Igby Goes Down."
When Igby is running thru NY streets with this song playing!
Fucking sooo American.
(The part of "America" we love..)
Dig!
@@CancelHappiness "hey..Dig on what the kids r saying!.."
@@CancelHappiness Tp3 Fav Documentary ever
What/where is that synth sound( with the melody)? SOMEONE HELP!
It's actually just a fairly straight forward old school electronic organ sound. Like something Ray Manzarek would have used. An old Vox Continental or something.
Zia’s Korg MD-20. You can download programs and patches to replicate it using a midi controller and computer, these days.
Oh Zia....
Zia
Magic Mike?
