NYC Subway: Second R211T enters service on the C line! (2/6/23)

The second Kawasaki R211T has suddenly arrived on the New York City Subway! This 10-car open-gangway consist, numbered 4045-4049 + 4055-4059, joins its twin brother, 4040-4044 + 4050-4054 on the C line just a few days after it debuted. It utilizes two open-gangway designs, like the other R211T consist. Cars 4045-4049 have the "hard-shell" open-gangways, while cars 4055-4059 have the "soft-shell" open-gangways. Additionally, all cars on this train do not have cove ad screens, they use paper ads instead. The only digital screens on these cars are the FIND displays above the doors and the ad screens on the walls. Anyway, no more R211T trains remain to enter service, as these two are the only ones on NYCT property. However, the MTA may choose to order more in the future if the current R211Ts serve us well and prove themselves.
