There may not have been a lot of motorcycles in this clip but their actions go a long way to giving insight into why they are statistically over represented in accidents and fatalities..
Second clip = Don't you just love that mentality? Infrastructure put in place to keep traffic flowing smoothly and idiots approach too fast, brake too late and slow down the person with enough brains to drive properly.
You can see an increase (both in these videos and in person on the roads) of people just driving wherever they want, as if they own the road itself, no care for safety or other motorists, no care for the road rules or common sense either.
16:23 The Harbour Bridge does have broken lines, so perhaps a U-turn is legal there after all? But it's logic like this is the reason there's instructions on shampoo bottles.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the road over the Bridge is designated an expressway, and the rule is that you can't do a U-turn on an expressway. So my guess would be that it's illegal. But yeah, simply because a traffic maneuver may be technically legal doesn't make it sensible.
@@Markus_Andrewa U-turn is legal if you have a clear view of the road and it’s safe to do so, unless there’s a solid centre line or a No U-turn sign. There’s nothing in the road rules about U-turns on an expressway.
Don't forget that the bridge has varying numbers of lanes in each direction depending on the time of day, and you can always change lanes, so there's no way they can put a solid line anywhere.
9:39 never seen that manoeuvre in that spot before, 11:34 having a bike fly past like that doesn't bother me cos 9 times out of 10 they're over the horizon before my brain's registered
One thing I've really noticed in recent years is how many drivers are clueless about merging from the left on overtaking lanes. The moment they see the merge sign (or first arrow pointing right ) they switch to the right-hand lane and don't even bother indicating. I guess they don't want to wear out their indicators, or their eyes, or the very few brain cells they have.
i accept that spaghetti junction isnt the most intuitive of intersections, but the heard mentality some drivers exhibit is really worrying. it's like when ms hoover goes "i didn't know we could do that?!" in the simpsons and tears thru and intersection after homer does it.
The absolute lunacy, sheer arrogance and lack of common curtesy for others on Australian roads is a real problem! The police really need to get their game up (especially in Sydney) with more surveillance before bad driving is "normalised". More surveillance is definitely not a good thing, but I don't think there is any other way this situation will get better.
Yeah, but defensive driving is also giving priority attention to those vehicles and situations that pose a greater risk or threat. And some car makes and models most certainly do.
A terrible driver is someone involved in crashes where he's at fault. An average driver is someone involved in crashes where the other drivers are at fault. A great driver is someone who never has crashes. ALWAYS anticipate other drivers mistakes. You don't know them, nor what their capabilities are. In a serious crash, being the driver 'not at fault' is not going to make you any less dead. Drive DEFENSIVELY.
We're no longer the people we used to be, we are selfish, aggressive and inconsiderate. The Aussie vernacular used to be endearing, charming even, now it's only used to spot hatred at someone. Even if they deserve it, we didn't used to retaliate because we knew we would look just as stupid. My country depresses me sometimes.
@@johnt.848 That was really rude. Nothing wrong with open discussion on a country's problems as well as it's merits. Thats how we fix things that are going down the wrong path. Blind patriotism that only says 'love it or leave' are a fast track to societal problems that are just too deep to fix. Also, perhaps take a moment to illustrate what is great about Australia, instead of illustrating being "aggressive and inconsiderate".
@@johnt.848 There's a couple of false assumptions there. I'm several generations removed from being an immigrant, not everyone who comments on something they see as wrong with Australia is wanting to make it into another country. Second, not every discussion on issues is negative, which is what I was trying to say in my answer. I love Australia, I think it is a great place to live. I also think people are becoming less patient and less generous with each other, for a multitude of reasons. But to say that's okay, we should all become intolerant of each other as long as we say Australia is great isn't going to resolve anything, and if that is an issue and not merely my opinion, then it goes without being addressed and becomes worse. We, particularly in Victoria, are internationally notorious for our lack of patience and selfish attitudes on the road. There is nothing wrong with talking about it, and perhaps we bring it to the forefront of the national zeitgeist and we start to change it. Exactly what happened with seatbelts, too, by the way.
@@johnt.848 Immigrants seem to use their ethnicity as an excuse not to integrate.I live on the same street as an International training institute & the students flagrantly disregard the road rules entering & exiting the establishment & when the Police go & talk to them about their dangerous behaviour in traffic they feign not being able to speak English. So the Police go & talk to the administrators there & the students get into big trouble because the staff know that the students all can speak English & understand the Police perfectly fine.
Some people should not be behind the wheel at all. They just don't read the markings, everyone just seems to be in a major rush, there is no consideration for other lives. We need more cops on our roads.

This happened to me yesterday on the M1 returning to Brisbane, van driver nearly wiped me out and my family in the vehicle in front, no room but still came over, my dash camera was not working unfortunately.
Are you familiar with the international project "Creative Society"?
It's a rule reserved for van and 4x4 drivers acting tough
Don’t you know we changed the meaning of ‘indicate’ to ‘already completed the manoeuvre’ ?
Dashcams should start paying people for these videos!
15:01 so cloooose 🙏
Someone/s should buy a lottery ticket
7:30 and when he get's hit by a car (if we're that lucky) it will be everyone's fault but his.
13:00 ppl who sit THIS far behind a single car in front waiting to turn, actually annoy me. I always keep my distance, but the dc is potentially stopping a third car from entering the turn lane when there would be that extra 2 seconds allowing them to do so safely if the car in front wasnt two car lengths away from the first car at the turn signal. Its incredibly inconsiderate. It didnt look particularly busy but at peak hr, grrrr
There may not have been a lot of motorcycles in this clip but their actions go a long way to giving insight into why they are statistically over represented in accidents and fatalities..
Second clip = Don't you just love that mentality? Infrastructure put in place to keep traffic flowing smoothly and idiots approach too fast, brake too late and slow down the person with enough brains to drive properly.
brake not break.
@@stendecstretcher5678 It said brake, so I broke it.

"huh,huh,huh"Rick James was spot on.
Nice one again, have a great 2023.
the fact coronation drive in Brisbane has come up on here twice is saying something
You can see an increase (both in these videos and in person on the roads) of people just driving wherever they want, as if they own the road itself, no care for safety or other motorists, no care for the road rules or common sense either.
When cops aren't around, road rules go out the bloody window for some.
Few from Newcastle which honestly isn’t that surprising anymore
It takes a very special person to write off their car in a carpark.
@@moshesheckel7369 even more special than that!
There is? Well. Turns out I’ve not been using it correctly all these years.
@@Markus_Andrew I'd presume that you simply must be correct. There's no way that performing a U-Turn on the coat hanger would be legal.
@@BadDriversOz ahaha yes you're totally right! Stupid homophones! I blame a bit to much Xmas cheer after watching the cricket today 🤪
The first two, very recognisable places lol
Little police karma action cameo thrown in there, nice
The absolute lunacy, sheer arrogance and lack of common curtesy for others on Australian roads is a real problem! The police really need to get their game up (especially in Sydney) with more surveillance before bad driving is "normalised". More surveillance is definitely not a good thing, but I don't think there is any other way this situation will get better.
This Comp had me yelling at my screen lol!
Cheers from Mozambique.
Defensive driving is observing ALL vehicles and situations..not profiling car brands
Yeah, but defensive driving is also giving priority attention to those vehicles and situations that pose a greater risk or threat. And some car makes and models most certainly do.
5:52 why is this clip muted ? I would have loved to hear this v8 drifting into the underpass ^^
A lot of clips with music playing are muted to help try to avoid a copyright strike.

C'mon m8, what we see here are just a bunch of c.u.n.t.s, the majority of drivers do abide by road rules.
@@johnt.848 Mate, currently got covid, entirely possible I've made false assumptions. Sorry if I did.

2:50, Kudos to the pedestrian! Drivers need to start realising that when turning into a side street the CAR must GIVEWAY to the pedestrian!

73 GIVING WAY AT A T-INTERSECTION
(1) A driver at a T-intersection without traffic lights or a stop sign, stop line, give way sign or give way line, must give way in accordance with this rule.
(2) If the driver is turning left (except if the driver is using a slip lane) or right from the terminating road into the continuing road, the driver must give way to--
(a) any vehicle travelling on the continuing road (except a vehicle making a U-turn on the continuing road at the T-intersection), and
(b) any pedestrian who is crossing the continuing road at or near the intersection.
(6) If the driver is turning right from the continuing road into the terminating road, the driver must give way to--

(b) any pedestrian who is crossing the terminating road at or near the intersection.

Not in NSW. You can end up in jail for not giving way to a pedestrian like that as they're more vulnerable than a car. Unless the guy was J walking illegally which in this case he wasn't.
My other half and I regularly drive from Victorian border to Melbourne return to border. The lack of basic Highway Code knowledge shown by Melbournian drivers is astounding, the extreme lack of patience, pulling over into other people’s safe braking zone, pulling in front of fully loaded trucks in their blind spots, we have been nearly killed quite a few time’s, so people please please if you drive try putting your brain in gear first, then put your vehicle in gear not the other way around.
