Thanks for all of y’all’s info it helps .
I will give you a scenario: If you have ever gone to a sports game (stadium) doesn't matter what sport...leave a little early stand at your car (just stand there and watch) as the people let out some will go by you, some will go through out the parking area. they scatter, (looking for their vehicles) but take away the vehicles and just let there be people. that is what it will be like when the fan is hit, everyone everywhere, no place unseen, no place not walked or driven until no fuel (for you to be spotted) and that is with say 65,000 scattered people (some more, some less) now multiply that to say 200,000, 400,000 or more, all directions for miles upon miles them walking or riding until they stop or just keep going where do you go/hide. say all stop ten miles out from the city (yeah right) once resources are used up (water, food, wood/trees etc.) they move, say 100 miles, then 100 more, things get bad fast (the good out of all this) 85 to 90% of all people (preppers, non-preppers, bad guys, good guys) die. so it gets easier to survive, cruel but it helps "you". live long and survive.
Don't rely on the police to protect you. If there is 1 officer per every 3000 people in your area the odds you will get help is 2999 to 1! If you check, the internet the number is 3.4 per. Thousand. You have to divide that by 3 to account for 3 shifts. Then subtract civilian plus command staff to get the. Number of boots on the ground. Police rarely stop crime. They react to it. In ordinary times the response takes 20 minutes. In most cities you make an appointment to report a crime.
I respect your stance on the 10 acre gesture, however I tend to purchase a few acres at a time up to 5 depending on the minimum acres that will grant you farm status and the perks that come with it...you have to get old someday, and without kid's or much help...keeping up and maintaining lots of acreage can be tedious... especially when the marauders start roving. Thanks for sharing!
I have 1.33 acres I live on in the middle of nowhere. No neighbors. The land that is all around me owned by a single family in another state or years of back tax owed. Its like I own the whole area lol You only need what you will use if its in the right place!
@@Mountainrock70 Absolutely Mountain Rock...my property in SC is set up the same way...I'm the only neighbor within a quarter mile radius either way and no one in front of me...the owners live way in Pennsylvania and come down maybe once a year or two, stay for a few hours and out of here lol. If SHTF I'm claiming it all haha... stay safe Brother. Thanks for sharing!
Two comments from someone who’s always lived in a remote area - good internet is not easy here so consider that if you plan to work from home. Also in our area any land over 10 acres is considered farmland and property taxes are more affordable. Look into that before you buy!
Bottom line: You MUST have a wood stove. It keeps your house toasty warm and you can cook on it. Up north, you’ll die without it. I’m just praying that ours arrives and is installed before SHTF because there’s a 4-5 month wait. Lots of excellent brands...Lopi, Hearthstone, Vermont Castings, Blaze King, Pacific Energy, and many others.
Radioactive ash negates all that burning wood and gathering food Your better off with 2 yrs mountain house and supplies and move next to an older school ( fall out shelter)
The best places are the places with more resources and less people. I have 10 acres of forest U.P. north, but only a lot and town house down state. I pounded down my own 2 inch flowing point well. Built an outhouse up there. The U.P. is 29% of Michigan's land and only 3% of population lives there. Going up there to build a root cellar and out door kitchen next week. Working on get more masonry materials to build a cabin up there. I was amazed at the amount of edible stuff on property. When it comes down to it there are more resources there compared to here. 100000 in county down state and only 9000 in county up state. More of a food forest up there than down here. Going from zone 6 to zone 5 most of the crops we grow will grow up there. Plus lots of lakes nobody lives on up there too. There are jobs everywhere for me in the U.P.
The fact that people are even asking you about quitting their jobs is frightening! Be prepared but don't let it take over your thoughts and actions. I am very leery of prepper type channels because of this. As far as the land option, most people cannot buy land or are stuck in the cities at least while they are working full time.
I'm never home cause I run a drill on mine sites. If shtf it's really looking like setting up camp at the mines is looking like my best option. The only real problem is not being able to haul everything with me
I don't think there is a perfect place at least not east of the Mississippi. There are little pockets of good land at least eight miles from major highways and two miles from the main roads and at least 50 miles from a big city that are not downwind from potential targets. In the deep South you can have a winter garden and a summer garden And nobody freezes to death. You take your chances as best you can. One other thing. Have a plan B and a plan C. If things go bad and a forest fire is bearing down on your property, you've got to move and fast. You can come back and rebuild later. Don't get stuck on one idea. Be flexible.
I live in Wichita Kansas, the heart of tornado alley. Naturally, we have sirens located all over the city and surrounding area. They will be running an air raid siren test on said sirens later this week. They haven’t been tested in 10 years. Coincidence?
You checked every single box on my land criteria list. And it sucks. If I find the “perfect place” it either is beyond my financial means, too close to a nuclear plant, dead in the path of the Golden Hordes, on the coastline, or in the desert. I have been diligently .. meaning every single day for a minimum of 8-12 hours for about 4 maybe 5 years looking for land. I own an older, smaller 5th wheel that will be used to live in either permanently or until I can figure something else out, but with very little down payment saved… it has become an anxiety producing feat, and not much else. I do know that living in Washington, is one of the last places I want to be. I do not plan or want to bug out, I never have. I want to get my land, get on it ASAP, and get it situated as best I can ahead of the need. I figure I have almost run out of time. HOWEVER, hearing you list the same considerations, makes me feel a lot better. I know that I am not just being too picky. Thank you for that!🙂

We're good. At the entrance to the Frank Church Wilderness. 1 acre with a rushing year round creek. We also have a Berkey filter if our wells can't be pumped. Wood for 3 years. Both hubby and J have fairly secure jobs. His includes all the free Mill ends he can haul. We are 75 mes from the nearest city.bit is about 50,000. That is an almost 2 hr drive along a very windy river road. Chickens currently, bunnies soon. Large garden every year. Canning now at what we find at good sales. That includes a bmilk, butter, and meat. Preserving eggs do many different ways. If you have not started prepping START ASAP!
I love your ideas of getting onto your own land but and I know, no excuses, I’m just moved from the city to a much smaller township in a mobile home park filled with old farts and medical needy (like me) who really can’t physically do what’s being discussed here. In this very scary scenario that may play out, what do we all do? The only icing on my cake is my daily numbers are EXTREMELY NUMBERED so as to take care of mine and your problem of what do all these folks do in shtf? I know it’s pretty raw but the facts are facts and I’d rather deal with my obvious fate naturally my way than being shot at n my head for my rusty can of beans in my prefab cupboard..

A little off subject but, Have you noticed that the ports in California have pretty much cleared up. Only a few ships are backed up now . Do you think 🤔 it’s because China is lockdown?
There are thousands of ships anchored outside Chinese ports. What do you think will happen once all those ships get loaded and send our way. Not that I believe it will happen soon. I.M.O. this lock down has nothing to do with covid and all to do with crippling the US economy and infrastructure amid the crisis in Europe. Mark my words, latest when the US and NATO gets fully involved in the war China will make its move on Taiwan. But then, looking at the situation right now and what is happening with the Solomon Island pact and Australia's reaction, one wonders if they are willing to wait.
Goshen prpper, where do you live in general. I'm in NW lower Michigan. What is your idea of a big city. I've been telling people for years that people will pour out of the big city's when things get bad.
25,000 people you need to be at least 20 miles away you want to be a couple of miles away from a numbered state rd. You would not to have you place visible from the road.
Totally useless video. What your talking about is for people that have money. 10 acres in my area is 300-400k dollars depending on how level it is. 20 acres is now getting close to a mil. And most likely there is no home structure on it and if there is its not in good shape and more money would have to be spent to upgrade it or actually build a home. So with the shortages and massive prices in building materials that would not be possible in this day of age. I have watched several of your videos and well you mean well and have good intentions but I disagree on some things with you. I also am a retired military guy of 32 years of service and traveled all over the world and seen a lot of things that most people should never have to see. So I can relate with you on that part but if you can take a little constructive advice? Stick to information that will help the majority of people not just a select few you might get a better outcome that way. Also in your videos you need to add some visual effects or charts or links to back up what your saying because just seeing you talk about issues is coming off as just another person with their own opinion and everyone got one weather its right or wrong, with youtube there is hundreds if not thousands of people with their channels that also gives out information so just like in college when you had to do a paper what was the one of the requirements.....you have to cite your sources!
I just found 9.75 acres in Clare, Michigan for $31,000. Unfortunately, during a major nuclear attack, you could be hit by fallout from Minneapolis, Green Bay, Milwaukee, and the IBM fields in North Dakota and Montana. A better area would be Southern Oregon, where farmland goes for about $3,200 an acre.
@Riff Raff If you can do it, look for land in the coastal areas of Southwest Washington, the Oregon coastline (at least 30 air miles west of Portland), Southern Oregon (away from Salem, Eugene, and Medford), and Northern California, north of Redding. The climate in these areas is relatively mild, there is water, and you may avoid major nuclear fallout, but one should still have a fallout shelter, just in case.
Who the heck has the kind of money it takes to do this stuff?? I have a small 3 acre place in the country and thought I would have a fighting chance but according to this video I guess I'm screwed along with all the people who have even less than I do. We are doing our best to prep with our limited means
Water will decide where to buy Bug out is the last resort but if you're located in a big city I would get out Northern parts daylight is longer it compensate for the short growth time Hunting to feed your family that is a joke and you're not going to be alone 20 acres 2 48feet containers 16 feet apart lots of sweat 2 years of planning ya but you have to be a Joe of all trades if not you're doomed
I’m impressed that your on this channel and you care about preparedness. You may be young but you obviously have a good head on your shoulders and are not clueless like so many people much older then you.
You need to KNOW that your BOL is not someone else's property. Rural owners are typically okay with people who get lost, but camping on their property? Good luck! No one will be kind about squatters.
Question, in a SHTF situation and one must bug out and go to this location: What about ALL of your prep in your home? We'd need a small U Haul! What if you have to do it fast? Basically, are people that have other locations just going to leave the majority of their preps behind? Terrible thought to have to leave it all or most of it. As for finding property, right now?! LOL GOOD LUCK! Not only that, once the housing market crashes, and it will, you will be upside down on your mortgage big time! Property around here is at least 50k-100k over market value. There is NO dirt cheap land anywhere.
@Samurai rabit My son in law's family runs his horse farm that is 4 hours away. The family there are JUST starting to prepare. My husband and I are lightyears ahead of them - food, supplies, knowledge, etc. Do you see my problem? To "get out of dodge", I'd have to leave pretty much 90 percent of my preps to head to a place where there will be a group that has just started prepping. I'm grateful they've offered their place as a location to flee to, but .... I'm thinking I'd be better off in my home in the city limits of a small to med size city. Thanks for your reply Samurai!
I disagree with some things he puts out in his videos and this is one for example. This video is directed to a select few with the money that is able to do what he claims as I stated in my comment. He has a lot of self opinions on what people should do but in general people need to do what they can with what they can afford and what their personal plans are.
@@Farminginthecity look up land in remote areas with years of back taxes owed. Im talking remote with access to the land that looks discouraging to most. Land like this you can either just squat on or go pay the back taxes and move on the land. In some states if you pay the back taxes and live on the land in 10 years its yours after going to court yourself without a attorney.
@@Farminginthecity I agree, but it's not just a matter of 'money'. Money only helps so far. It's not just 'stuff' and prepping, it's 'sustaining' and being flexible. Knowledge and experience are more valuable than 'money', the right mind-set/attitude is an absolute essential. I've prepped for decades bit by bit, here and there, it has cost almost nothing but time/patience and a little effort and ingenuity. I did a trial run many years ago; 2-months, all services off (water/power/food-shopping etc), I only kept the Internet up. THAT taught me a LOT. I kept a log of the things I had to 'cheat' on and/or hadn't considered/prepped or underestimated. That and an inventory of what was depleted opened my eyes. Some things you will probably have to buy in if you are expecting really bad shit; anti-biotics, masks, tools (and maintenance gear), salt, seed-stores, Spectacles, dental; basically anything you can't make or do without you need a least 2 off (and don't keep them in the same location). And you need to be able/willing to cut-and-run from your 'home' (i.e. plan-b, plan-c...). Do not get attached or totally reliant on anything. Time-capsule/cache a few essentials (tools, food-water, bivvy, tent/tarp, 'survival/hunt/trap' etc), at least one of each cache (aimed at 'what if really bad-shit'), within 10-mins walking, another within 1-hour, 12-hour at NEWS of 'home'. Options are essential. Don't make 'plans', or if you do, accept that your plans will fail and you WILL have to drastically adjust. Trouble will find you; accidents, vermin/pests, wild-life/feral, humans (organised/random/willful/opportunist/desperate). Fixed home, mobile/temporary-home, 'nomadic', 'wild'. Be familiar/comfortable/capable with each. Meanwhile carry on, enjoying what is available. ;-) Peace.

I liked this segment I have bought an off grid cabin it’s solar with water catches and fresh water creek close by most of its wooded but there’s a portioned cleaned off for a garden also I am in the process of supplying it it’s almost impossible to find for the most art my best friend and his brother have places there too so are a few more cabin owners which are friends also we are a very small like minded community I hope it doesn’t get as bad as I think it will but we are preparing for the worst and I hope that there aren’t any of those wolf gangs that try us it will not be good for them lol !

Radioactive ash negates all that burning wood and gathering food
Your better off with 2 yrs mountain house and supplies and move next to an older school ( fall out shelter)
I'm in southwest Florida and outside my door is a grocery store 12 months a year.
I am bugging in. I have been investing in items and investing my energy for the last two years.
Also. Here in central Illinois.. No signs of and fertilizer being applied.. hmmm?
The problem is when you even have acreage in City comes to you
The fact that people are even asking you about quitting their jobs is frightening! Be prepared but don't let it take over your thoughts and actions. I am very leery of prepper type channels because of this. As far as the land option, most people cannot buy land or are stuck in the cities at least while they are working full time.
yep....we are pretty much screwed!!
I have a theory that in a SHTF people will head south to keep warm and fed so I’m headed north lol
I'm never home cause I run a drill on mine sites. If shtf it's really looking like setting up camp at the mines is looking like my best option. The only real problem is not being able to haul everything with me
I agree with you, and I think we checked all of your boxes
I don't think there is a perfect place at least not east of the Mississippi.
There are little pockets of good land at least eight miles from major highways and two miles from the main roads and at least 50 miles from a big city that are not downwind from potential targets.
In the deep South you can have a winter garden and a summer garden
And nobody freezes to death.
You take your chances as best you can.
One other thing. Have a plan B and a plan C.
If things go bad and a forest fire is bearing down on your property, you've got to move and fast. You can come back and rebuild later.
Don't get stuck on one idea. Be flexible.
Recent land looked at was 10ac @ 12,000/ac plus water table at 300ft with well pricing at $100/ft. OUCH. Find a group with BOL.
I live in Wichita Kansas, the heart of tornado alley. Naturally, we have sirens located all over the city and surrounding area. They will be running an air raid siren test on said sirens later this week. They haven’t been tested in 10 years. Coincidence?
They have tested them in my area, 3 separate nights now. Been wondering if this was happening elsewhere
Underground.
I live in casa Day maryland and absolutely hate this place. Would much rather be in Tahoe, but that is not possible.
Too late now, fight where you stand
Sy-kes, dick-head. I get it. ;-) thanks.

Wish I can afford land. Maybe when we pay off the house.
I have 2 cases of water just in case something goes bad
Get more
Get a lot more.
ok
Thank you for that!🙂
Rocket stoves.
Is it possible for my UA-cam watch history to be incorrect? I am seeing videos I know I have watched, showing that I have not. As well as my likes not showing up. Is it a lot like the videos not being visible from certain channels or not seeing live stream

Yea. Don't give your location.
@@danielmorse4213 too late, now i know where to go - Frank Church Wilderness >:)
WOULD CB Radio be sufficient for emergency communication after a nuke strike?
No, you need Ham, especially in the HF range. Depending on the area, CB is pretty well dead.
Also, have in in a faraday cage or it could be destroyed in an emp
There are way too many people on earth.
When poo hits the fan, it will be MAYHEM.
and when the criminals and marauders finish in the citys and burbs, they will head to the farms and outer locations. One Second After detailed this very realistically.
Not true, at all,we haven't even begun to utilize resources to feed people its nearly inexhaustible, the sea alone could easily support billions, no sweat...
@@betsyross2.065
My point is, WHEN POO HITS THE FAN, there will be MAYHEM because there are too many people.
I wasn't talking about the earth being able to sustain everyone.
@@betsyross2.065 I disagree. The peak ocean fish catch was 1991. Since the oceans have been fished by ever bigger fleets. Trying to get what they can of a depleting resource, tomorrow be damned. You can't have infinite growth on a finite planet.
@@betsyross2.065 Also soil depletion. Most cities sprung up in areas where a lot of food was grown. Now unfortunately a lot of that Best farmland has been covered in development. You are going to see an epic crash;if you live long enough.
Just look at Shanghai for how cities may be managed
The guy who lives in the north bugs out to the south. The guy down south heads north. The western guy moves east …no one will head east. My point is if you live in a high population you better have some where to go. Otherwise have lots of friends and a large group because no where is safe.

I've been telling people for years that people will pour out of the big city's when things get bad.
what is nw lower -- traverse city, manistee ??? fellow michigander here
25,000 people you need to be at least 20 miles away you want to be a couple of miles away from a numbered state rd.
Dude, no one is forcing you to stay in your overpriced area, lol. Overreact and make excuses much?
Water will decide where to buy
Bug out is the last resort but if you're located in a big city I would get out
Northern parts daylight is longer it compensate for the short growth time
Hunting to feed your family that is a joke and you're not going to be alone
20 acres 2 48feet containers 16 feet apart lots of sweat 2 years of planning ya but you have to be a Joe of all trades if not you're doomed
I'm 20 years old living in a Urban city making 25,000 a year...This sounds unrealistic to me ...😪
I’m impressed that your on this channel and you care about preparedness. You may be young but you obviously have a good head on your shoulders and are not clueless like so many people much older then you.
Watching this video is a start! We all start somewhere, this is just your beginning, God bless you Linda
Hello from romulus 94/275 thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and GOD-BLESS
You need to KNOW that your BOL is not someone else's property. Rural owners are typically okay with people who get lost, but camping on their property? Good luck! No one will be kind about squatters.
Roads blocked. If I’m lucky.
It won't be millions,no way
Let's go brandon
@@Farminginthecity Yes, I agree with you.
Meanwhile carry on, enjoying what is available. ;-)
Peace.
