    I'll be glad to say that this version of the model could be the UK market (outside London spec). The London version could be the one with body work similar to the new BD11. I would be surprised if any of the 2 was the present European body that's on older B12s and the B11,13,15,18 &19

    Singapore's BYD B12 - I nickname it the Blade 12. There's a fleet serving under ComfortDelgro, and there's a first unit registered SG4013A that will go on trial soon in Singapore.

    Scania also has the entire roof filled with light panels. It looks nice, but I would think it's a nightmare to fix if there are any issues. Moreover, there tends to be "floodlighting" in the morning. There should be a way to adjust the light level - this needs to be fixed!

    BYD B12 is an attractive looking bus, but as this prototype shows there are some problems to be ironed out. Battery technology has improved in that they are able to achieve a low floor with the batteries below the floor.

    • @bussmagasinet1
      @bussmagasinet1  7 місяців тому

      I’m sure this model will be improved before it’s out in mass production. Still, it’s important to highlight the problems so they can fix it 😁

      Yeah, in Denmark we've had a lot of Chinese electric buses on the roads, most notably from Yutong, they make some really solid buses. The Yutong E12 is now the most common bus model in all of Movias fleet, movia being the transit agency for basically all of eastern Denmark. Before it, it was the Volvo 8900.

      In fact, there aren't many. Most of the ones you see are BYD's hybrid models, which use another type of battery. Even so, these cars don't burn until well after thermal runaway. According to the accident report released by the fire department, most of the problems lie in the engine wiring, because early DMI models did have engine compartment heat dissipation problems and now have adopted the new DMI platform. The number of fire accidents in electric cars using Blade batteries is in the single digits, compared to millions of cars.

      No way, most cars have different batteries.
      Blade batteries may not catch fire, but BYD has developed highly safe lithium iron phosphate batteries and high energy density ternary batteries, which are used in the fields of electric passenger cars and electric commercial vehicles, solving the problems of safety, cycle life and endurance of electric vehicle batteries. Global problems with mileage and more. Through continuous iterative innovation, its blade battery and CTB (Cell to Body) technology are impressive.

    • @sinmingcheung373
      @sinmingcheung373 2 місяці тому

      Second, the relevant person in charge of BYD stated that as early as March 29, 2020, BYD announced the official launch of blade batteries. With its profound strategic foresight for the industry, strong innovation capabilities and deep technological accumulation, BYD launched the Blade Battery, which has safety that other power batteries cannot match, and has both long life and long battery life. Its birth has redefined the new era. Safety standards for energy vehicles.
      "Acupuncture penetration testing" is recognized in the industry as the most stringent testing method for battery cell safety. This test requires using a steel needle to pierce the power battery cell, causing a large area short circuit inside the cell. Under the same test conditions, the ternary lithium battery experienced drastic temperature changes at the moment of acupuncture. The surface temperature quickly exceeded 500°C, and extreme thermal runaway occurred - a violent combustion phenomenon, and the eggs on the surface of the battery were blown away; the traditional block shape After being punctured, the lithium iron phosphate battery had no open flames and smoke, and the surface temperature reached 200℃-400℃, and the eggs on the battery surface were scorched by the high temperature; after the BYD blade battery was penetrated, there was no open flames and no smoke, and the temperature of the battery surface Only around 30℃-60℃, the eggs on the battery surface remain unchanged and are still in a flowable liquid state. This result is enough to prove the unparalleled advantages of blade battery safety.
      Regarding the performance of BYD's blade battery in the acupuncture experiment, Ouyang Minggao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out that the design of the blade battery allows it to generate less heat and dissipate heat quickly during a short circuit, and evaluated the performance of the blade battery as "very excellent."
