      Gen z is the look at me generation with the IQ of a gold fish. This generation hasn't had to do shit on its own and gen z sucks big time. All their toughness is on social media and pubg chat rooms. Only in those chat rooms and in imagination can they punch someone so hard that blood starts coming out. In real life gen z can't even do a proper pull up. During our times we used actually beat the shit out of each other physically. Gen z likes to over hype any and every thing. Lol and is has made a joke out of depression. Basically they are cowards who make excuses. Losers. Gen z is like this because their parents weren't loved by the grand parents of gen z and hence parents of gen z decided to spoil their retarded gen z kids by giving them everything that they didn't get from their own parents. Now all these gen z kids have easy access to everything without having had to work for it. During my times we had to earn every thing. Gen z is soft, weak, pansy and can carry mountains only in their imagination.
      There. Perfectly balanced like all things should be.

    The thing is, what he's saying is right, but also we see everyday irl or online, that gen-z also worship celebrities. Some of the younger celebs' entire fandom is made up of gen-z. Fandoms now more and more behave like cults and while fans do call out their faves sometimes if they do something problematic, most of the time they defend them as a matter of fact. And not all these 'celebs' and 'influencers' make valuable, quality content that contributes positively to the society. So it's not right to say that gen-z or gen-z alpha are not 'fans' but simply audience. They very much are. Just like the previous generations.

    Am I the only one who feels sad that be it genz or internet but it destroyed “Stardom” . Being a 90’s kid “Stardom” was a dream world and it was better like that. Now every tom dick & harry is a celeb with random million views. I do agree it gave platform few really good artists but 80% it gave platform for really shitty content & people like Elvish Yadav & so on as so called famous celebs 😅. Soon we will be having a celeb in every flat number at this rate 😂

    • @vizzyb8400
      @vizzyb8400 5 місяців тому

      its not real dude. Most people just call themselves celebrities for some millions of followers. How to say, one way to distinguish now is, if you have gone on TV, then you are really famous than anyone who just has social media presence. Others don't fall in the category of celebrities like the ones on YT or instagram or tiktok, they mostly fall under social media stars. Very few from these platforms have a celebrity status for most of them, it is just a source of income. I mean most of them could go away and nobody wld care that much. Celebrities include cristiano ronaldo or natalie portman or something like people ask there autographs and are die hard fans man. Stardom is not the same. Internet just makes it look the same.

They can talk hours on "how important empathy is" and 'Talk it out" and what not, but will push people to commit S**cide over the slightest difference in opinions and misunderstanding. Did it really though? I would even say the internet made it worse.
      Before, the celebrities led their own lives and people led their own. If you wanted to know something about your favorite stars you would have go out and hunt that information.
      With internet this information is basically spoon fed to you. It wouldn't even be a stretch to say that its like you're essentially sharing a room with your favourite celebrities.
      This has given more people a fake sense of being connected to the fake lives of celebrities. They look up to them more, they argue about them, they wage wars on social media about them.
      All while they forget that a celebrity's life is built on top of a mountain of lies.
      So yes, the internet had made the stardom 10 times worse.

    He's not wrong. The next generation is more authentic. However, that's still peripheral. Mainstream folks are still repelled by Das' jokes and Gen Z and younger still have peer pressure and many aren't able to think for themselves. Most find a voice in he 20s and 30s. I think, like many of us, Das is speaking aspirationally. One thing to keep in mind is that the current generation wasn't born with a greater authenticity. Pioneers have been paving the way, creating bigger spaces for the outliers/black sheep/free thinkers/comedy lovers to be authentic and seek authenticity. I hope there are more comedians like Das, dropping hilarious truth bombs. Please don't get arrested or assassinated.

    • @vizzyb8400
      @vizzyb8400 5 місяців тому

      Wrong. It is only because you think success is either for you or the other person. however there are multiple choices. It can be for both, it can be for none. Also, being successful at someone else's expense means that you didn't do the work for urself, someone else did it for you like jada smith is famous only because of will smith. But she doesn't have as much fame as will smith because she didn't work that much in movies. So it is her contribution that is checked and not someone else's. But actors like cate blanchett or natalie portman are famous at their own expense only not at someone else's.

      @@advitiayanand5974 I disagree. Negative things stay with people so most people can't watch crime atleast everyday but maybe every week or month. Humans are driven by pain and pleasure. Comedy relieves tension for most people so I agree it is a really good time to be a comedian given you have a good character and can make jokes in a good way to laugh and not hurt someone because there are a lot of hurtful things already all over news and people understand how the algorithm works. If they watch crime, it would get recommended so why not watch good things you might enjoy because that might get recommended more and one might have a good time.

    Well i like Vir das but he is really getting ahead of himself here. Indian stand ups comedians dont even fall in the league of stars yet. The ones who have got slight celebrity status like zakir khan,kanan gill initially. Ppl do look forward to them.
    Stardom does exist for comedians globally(US/UK) if you see Dave Chappelle, Schlutzz etc.
    Also bruh don't even compare social media influencers with stars like Ranbir kapoor. Fans do not pay to watch the stars on screen as they could not afford to go to switzerland or they dont get to watch anyone in switzerland.
    They want to watch the artist/actor performing on screen not some random guy on internet.They are not going to pay to watch these social media influencers in theaters. :D
    Almost 50 % ppl have internet access on mobile(out of 1.3 bn) , so if something is free like social media, ppl have zero investment in watching/liking/subscribing there. Dont even compare that with stardom.

    LOL Kunal Kamra has joke level and delivery of a KT Guy on Chair Tapri , Vir das has more palpatible delivery and comedy style suited more for international aka american corp culture .

    It's obvious why Kunal Kamra hasn't won any awards.
    His entire character hinges on joking about politics. With jokes its funny the first time, but then people get tired of hearing the same sh*t over and over again.

    A Comedians work is to entertain audience with comedy, that's it. The problem occurs when comedians mistake themselves as social messiah and start believing their primary task is to preach us social values that are right according to them.
    THIS IS WRONG. This is why people like Kamra are not loved by a wide Indian audience, because he tries to preach more, entertain less. Stick to your job bro, leave social justice, preaching politics etc to people whose job it is. Your job is only to entertain us via your comedies, kindly stick to that. 😊😊
