So refreshing to see someone emphasise the importance of pack liners vs useless pack covers which don't protect the harness area and can be damaged or even ripped off in scrub. AND compliments also for the comments about gear on the outside of your pack. You've nailed two of my pet hates.
Great and very detailed info for 2-day gear packing. Only taking what you truly need, with proper warm clothing, and stay as lightweight as possible. 👍 -Alex @ Vanquest
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for sharing this most informative video. You are certainly well organized. You shared some great pointers. I just came across your channel this morning. I look forward to viewing your many informative videos. Stay safe out there. 😊
Whomever picked that thumbnail for your vid was genius. I had to click to see if the backpack was real (and THAT organized) and maybe transparent too. Not even offended that the real show wasn’t anything like the thumbnail. I had doubts when I saw two pairs of shoes in the bottom. If that were to scale, the backpack would have been ginormous! Was worth the click to find out. If an editor did the thumbnail, give’em a pay raise; they earned it!
Your water bladder is a long way from your back. Are you concerned that a bladder located closer to your back will leak onto your dry stuff in the pack?
Yes, i generally like to keep my bladder in an external packet to avoid any potential leaks. Had one leak once a long time ago and now avoid it at all costs!
To put it simply, a trek presents a more adventurous and challenging experience than a walk, often involving multi-day excursions in natural settings, whereas a walk is more of a short, less demanding activity in a more managed environment.
I love how Tassie always justifies bringing the extra weight. Yeah you can stress over what clothes to bring and their weights in other climates but down there it's always, yeah it could be torrential rain so the hard shells are coming. Simple. In a way...
I dont understand, these packs are 400$ +, yet they need a pack liner? why arent they waterproof? hell, make the backpack out of the liner for goodness sake.
These are waterproof bags but I ALWAYS use a pack liner. I double bag everything. Water is everywhere on my walks so if it gets in one tiny little nick or cut in the bag then everything gets wet. Better to be safe than sorry.

We’re preaching from the same hymn book! Great to hear you share my hates!
they thing i dont get is you also dont want a soaking wet backpack, that would be so heavy! so maybe best of both worlds?
Just stumbled on your channel and subscribed - awesome to see some local content from a fellow hiker!
Thanks for the follow! Plenty more to come!

Thanks for the feedback! Designed this one myself!
Im a tarp and bivy so im afraid i lst my poles quite some time ago 🤣🤣🤣
Is that a light pack for you for 1 night? Seems like a lot. Base weight up around 10kg. I suppose if you don’t mind carrying it it’s not a problem.
Yep, definately a little heavy could probably save 4 kg if I really wanted to but like you said, I don't mind carrying a bit extra.
In the opening icon… is that meant to be a HUGE backpack or teeny tiny hiking boots?
It is a very large backpack that AI Got carried away with!

Great video 👍 my crew are still keen on getting the gloves 👍
Great to hear! Hoping to have them in the new year! 🧤
@@mowsertas awesome potentially looking at 6 to 7 pairs 👍 it will just be figuring out the sizes 🤔😀 thanks very exciting
Yeah from Hobart and I am keen for the gloves too, be great to get the right size@@mowsertas
I need a pair of those great gloves.
is this pack weight also include water weight?
No. Water is extra on top of this.
I'm envious that you can drink the water unfiltered in Tasmania.
@@WoodswomanWrites yes it is unfortunately fairly unique in this day and age!
whats the difference between a walk and a trek

Yep, it makes it very easy to decide on what gear you need to take!

@@mowsertas no worries you look like you live in a VERY wet area. I would probably triple bag LOL
