I do think the same, if this go further in development it will be a strong tool in architecture for blender users. So we hope that and I think blender should work on this side by it own and not depend on add-ons.
Amazinging, amazing, amazing. Now my concern about "Blender is not practically possible for architecture" is fading and i am pretty sure that it is a strong competition against Autodesk.
Blender has been practical for architecture for a very very long time. The only barrier for most people was knowledge. These tools just make it more simple for someone to cross over from other software with limited knowledge of Blender.
@@bdragon254 I think you are wrong, there's a different between architecture and archviz. No doubt Blender good for ARCHVIZ, but not for the ARCHITECTURE term. Blender lack many features for architecture use such as producing 2D cad layout, elevation, detail drawing, section drawing etc.. Even 3Dsmax still the same. I'm not comparing the features from any BIM software, just CAD here.. most common CAD use these day is Sketchup, Blender & Max. I know you said Blender good for architecture is because you made your blueprint from Autocad, then import em to Blender for 3D model, furniture and so on.. then how about detail drawing for those furniture and other additional thing that you added in Blender?? You going back to Autocad?? Is this workflow called 'practical'?? Sketchup us a CAD program that can handle all those issue mentioned.. Dont trust me, but google it for prove. Search for Sketchup user from Vietnam and Vietnam.. Believe it or not, they even make Sketchup could do 3D rebar, plumbing drawing with BoQ report link to Excel. And if you change or revive the design ( 3D model ).. your detail drawing will be updated with a single click with Sketchup's Layout. This is what I called close to 'practical' term as a CAD program for architecture. If you could solve all those issue within Blender.. please reply me.. I want to learn from you. Im not against you or what so ever, I just come with my opinion and see whether it is true or not.
@@NBCNothingButCrap I've been using these software programs for more than 20 years, so I know what they're capable of and what they're not. There are Blender addons for everything you mentioned.. BIM, Elevation, Detail drawings, Blueprints. Entire projects inside Blender. CAD is old, broken, & slow in comparison to Blender. Use what you like but....
@@bdragon254 For the 1st time somebody really dare to come out with such solid statement as a fact instead of an opinion. Dont get me wrong, Im here not to challenge anyone, it is because in my entire life I only saw many people mention "Blender for Architecture".. But I dont and never saw even 1 video showing the whole project complete in Blender. As a Revit / Archicad user for more than 25 years.. I doubt that. Do you mind showing me a sample of Blender handling entire project, videos or a sample of yours.
when i used blender a lot i was well on my way to learning the functions and because I'm not a programmer nor will i ever be i sat around and prayed someone would do this now I'm gonna have to go back and relearn blender. whoever did this may you live out blessed days for the remainder of your life you are a beautiful person. ty ty ty...... blender is the only program like it i was ever able to comprehend how to use it rendering and such but it never had adequate math if this is as good as i hope is ill probably die at my desk lol. i love blender. And now i have all the reasons to love it even more now just getting my creations to leap off the screen and onto my desk. i have nothing but praise for its creators
I went into this thinking this add-on would be good- Turns out it's not really that good yet. Anything you make in this add-on you could in many ways make easier with just simply using regular blender modelling. If you want a proper CAD program I would go with fusion 360 or Inventor.
I've tried for hours but it din't find the solver module, i've instaleld the latest version of Python and neather the pip installation or the manual one (i've searched a lot but can't find the right file) solved the problem. Help please :-(
nice. I would like to give you a hint what I would like on a blender. walls_ quick construction and ready marking of materials, I miss quick functions: beams, windows, doors, income, roof. and that the drawing 2d would be made automatically in 3d. this is a nice solution in archicada. you do 2d sections and you can see finished drawings and library, architectural symbols, furniture.
Thanks mate! You can make sections with either the camera clipping or a simple cube boolean to cut the mesh you have. There're also number of add-ons that do sections but most of them are paid.
Would you like to fix everything Cad Sketcher THEME (add-ons) so edge can see bright any color without too black edge on youtube when everyone are on youtube too. Also you can get download (Screencast Key) to help for deaf people watch your youtube how to tutor about Cad Sketcher.
I like this add on but it needs to be able to draw lines at a specific distance at a specific angle . Hopefully this add on will continue to develop.
this is pretty good but to make it awesome you should add the option to type in the exact distance while drawing the line
It's really Cool addon and really wish they add more to it like 3DSmax with offset and spline.

I really think the same, it's still new and need more work on it but yeah we need this and hope it goes further in development.

Maker Tales is an amazing channel and he is doing a fine job of bringing CAD functions to Blender
maaan thanks for sharing it!!! it's amazing!! even 3ds max doesn't have this!

Failed to install from PIP, where do i get the "solver module" zip file please? Thank you in advanced!
i had this issue and tried the suggestion to restart blender, by 'Dimas Andhika' at the comment below, and it worked.
Great video: is there any way to change the color scheme I am blue green color blind.
blender already has a simple internal CAD addon, you just have to enable it.
How ?
Perfect
glad it helped!
A very handful tool and a great user as yourself powerful combination

thank you i love it😀
Tell me (Sorry, this item is not available in your location) how can I solve this problem and get the CAD
Awesome
Great addon. Do you know how can we create section in blender ?
Thanks mate! You can make sections with either the camera clipping or a simple cube boolean to cut the mesh you have.
There're also number of add-ons that do sections but most of them are paid.

Blender is the JavaScript of 3D modeling
so blender is slow?
Great tutorial, but the new version has changed.
