I miss the discus tank and the bass tank. But change is always happening at OFR. Clearly Mrs Josh edited this video, awesome job.
Thanks! 👍
Awesome to see that tank come to life again!
Great idea for the South American fish 🎉
Glad you like it
Good morning Josh.
Hope your morning is going well.
I just love that Green Terror.
Have yourself a wonderful day.
Play safe have fun.
Wow nice excited for the update of this tank, hope to see my favorites fishes in there
another great episode!! I think putting the light in the back is a great idea!!! I love the South American chiclid tank!!! it looks amazing!!! great idea, Josh!!!!!!
Cool, thanks
So need a Oscar for South American. Staple of the fish keeping hobby.
and Oscar's taste well.😛
Stop it lol
Josh, OFR needs a bridge over the pond to give you a shortcut, LOL!!
Lol we really do, just so I can get it wet and slip and fall to my death 💀 🤣 😂
Pontoon bridge!😅
cool concept for the tank... im guessing if someone rehome some pikes, a big Zebrina will do Awesome in there.... green and red fire coloring
Now this was a great video. Great idea to. Looking forward to this tank.
The Fish Whisperer at play. Nice vid!
That's actually not bad Josh you could do that for while then re-home them and then do another species tank, it would make great content like you said ❤😁😁.
That's always the plan... rescue, educate, rehome.
@@joshpriceofr I agree. I know your oscars tend to be re-homed quickly. Would you consider a showcase/education tank with different oscars? There is so much about them I don't know, and you're an excellent teacher!
Josh ever heard of the Rio Grande cichlid? A fisherman just caught (and released) one from the San Antonio River here in San Antonio, Texas. It made the news down here. Seems they aren’t usually seen in our river but sometimes one pops up. I got excited seeing the fine ones in your Chiclid tank!
Interesting!
Wow the tank is awesome!❤
Nice tank and selection of fish great job josh 👍🐟👊💯
Thanks 👍
Great editing
Thanks!
Superb netting skills! Nice editing Brittany
Glad you liked it!!
Absolutely beautiful 1,000 gallon Cichlids tank! One of these days hope to have a 200 gallon Discus tank buy not at my present location because when we move I will have to break it down. This is a major undertaking and disturbs the fish.
Aquidens Rivilatus. Ivan the terrible I named one. I’ve had three so far what a cool fish Green Terrors are but boy the battles with my snowflake moray eel, had to separate them🤣
Bada$$ combination brother! All very good looking stock!
Awesome to see another new setup great work fellas 👏 👍
Nice variety !!!!
Love your videos Josh can’t wait to see more in the future.
It can happen as long as it’s a big enough tank and 1000g is definitely big enough, if I had a big enough tank that would be almost my dream tank as South American cichlids are some of my favs
Dream tank! Great job Bud! Stay Fishy.
For a second there I thought it was Joey the king of DIY. 😂
Good Morning From Texas Stay Fishy 🇨🇱
Morning!
Sick tank. Almost as good as the bass tank
Itll definitely be cool. Will be fun to see it progress
I wonder if different fish would react differently to differently to a laser pointer that normally gets used for cats might be a fun video to watch
My 2 biggest tanks are both American cichlids my fave type of fish
Definitely going to be one of my favorite tanks at OFR hope you keep it for a long time! Maybe add some Jack Dempseys and Oscars that would be awesome to see. Great tank great video can't wait to see and learn more about the it🤘
josh put the oscars from 750 in fishroom into the 1000g also
Josh, I know you're gonna put some oscars in that tank. Most underappreciated fish in the hobby!!!! Love me some oscars. I'm currently growing out 6 Bumblebee Oscars. Great video, great concept with educational angle. 👊👍👏
I have my 3 stunners ill probably add
❤❤❤
Beautiful tank !
It really is!
That tank should be called the thunder dome
I did something like this with an 80 gal. I had a picture of it with everybody out front that I put up at the pet store I worked at and every non-fish customer that saw it thought it was a saltwater tank because of how hard they were all pushing their colors out. It was a who's who of Centrals; three or four different Vieja, a Manny, Motie, a Jack, Green and Red Terror, regular Texas, Salvini, Red Devil; non-cichlids were three Clown loaches, Tiger Datnoid, Ornate Bichir, a Leparinas Fasciatus, and a Distichodus Sexafasciatus. Sounds like a lot, and a couple of them were pretty small, but most of them weren't. I just kept them stuffed and did massive (40-50%) water changes probably four days a week, bare bottom with sponge filters w/power heads, and re-arranged the driftwood every water change so nobody ever got territory established. That was close to 20 years ago though, I miss them sometimes.
I hope you kept this tank. The colors add up quickly!
The nicest top 3 south American cichlids are 1. Rio Mag Umbee 2. Red Terrors 3.Dovii
I've been looking for a nice male red terror for about 2 years now, not kidding I have a beautiful female but these guys are rare
An update on this tank would be nice.
Of course! It'll be an educational series:)
You guys should make a saltwater tank with some sharks. great video keep it up
Whomever says adding that many fish to a 1k tank is impossible, is not a smart person. Jamming as many cichlids is always the tried and true method for dealing with aggression.
This will spill into the discussion of a dovii and an umbrella can't be in the same tank. I did it for 2 years in the past. Will likely do it again in this tank. All is possible juat cool content to put out
You guys had a Northern Pike?
josh put a flower horn in 1000 g from the pleco tank and a jack demse
setup a pond spotlight in that back corner to light it up when filming
The most Ive seen that red pike, probly ever. Beautiful fish
Lol he doesn't hide as much with these other fish in here
Maybe a little more structure places for them to hide. Especially adding more fish with attitudes.
So you might think that's the right thing to do. But less is actually better in this case. I'll showcase why in upcoming videos
Salvini and dempseys... and of course, no New Qoeld Cichlid predator tank is complete without convicts.
I have angels in my 210 with an oscar and a pike and a dempsey and a salvini and a convict and a green texas. The only fish I've had to move is the jaguar. He quit playing nice about 3 years in.
I think the Dorado is going to be the problem child in this tank.
Awesome skills as usual Josh! 👍🏻
Do you still have the red terror would look cool in there aswell
No we regomed him unfortunately
Of course, most of those fish are Central American fish and if you were dealing with wild caught fish, Central Americans have different water requirements than South American fish. The pike and the peacock are probably wild fish, the others probably aren't.
Be one with the fish 😂
That pike will bully all newcomers as it already has a territory best to do a rescape when adding a bunch more cichlids so they all get the chance to claim some territory
No Dovi?
What are the dimensions on that thing?
Wooow beatufuil peces
its so hard for me to decide between africans and american chiclid, but if i could only choose one region , would be the new world, i cant be without a green terror, and jaguars run my world
where is the dovii ??
Like if u also watched to the end no skipping
👍❤
The peacocks are going to eat those smaller cichlids.
Only haters say it’s impossible LOL
If I had to guess, I'd say you're gonna have issues with the jag and mota.
I see that something fishy is going on here.
Not all south American
I'm not a fan of mixing South and Central.
