This is one of those old standards that's been sung by everyone under the sun, but I first heard it in the brilliant instrumental version by Django Reinhardt. I've loved gypsy jazz and swing for many years now, and there's something innately springy about it to me. What better type of music then for a beautiful April day in the park? About Josh Turner Guitar
Joshua Lee Turner is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. Josh is best known for his UA-cam channel Josh Turner Guitar, where he has been posting eclectic cover performances and original music since he started the channel in 2007 at age 15. Josh now tours internationally in support of his own original music, as well as with long-time collaborator Carson McKee, as the folk duo The Other Favorites. In 2020, Josh released Public Life, his second full-length album of original music.

Big Band is possibly America’s greatest contribution to the world. This reminds me of Swing Kids and the first time I ever heard a violin play jazz. This cat sure knows how the play.

If you don't bump into Josh and his friends in the park, you can still enjoy a beautiful song in Django-style = gypsy jazz. Josh's guitar solo in 'The bare necessities' is breathtaking. It's performed in collaboration with Carson McKee. They call themselves the other favorites.

Lead guitar is a 1937 Epiphone Triumph, and it looks stunning. Those old archtops are true collectors items, very hard to find. Most impressive performance by everyone.

There is no end to this guy's talent - this is just phenomenal and it's nice to see the Gitane in use again. I just love this, and it will be on my faves list for some time to come - if not for ever. The trio are also very talented, and all are to be praised for this rendition. It beats the Hot Club Of Cowtown version by miles, and up to now, that has been the best version out there IMHO.
