RIGHT?! These pieces would be so beautiful if grinded and polished like an egg. Hurts in my eyes to see them cut in half. They could just put em all in a tumbler to find the stones that got colour. And then go from there. Imagine how big these eggshaped opals would be :O
@@Bondebillforlife The desirable pattern in yowah nut opal is revealed by cutting them in half and polishing the two halves. It's worth more money that way.

69k? Where is the disconnect from the miners and the sellers? When you purchase opal its 100's to 1000's a carat. A carat is pretty freaking small piece just a few millimeters. The guys have 100's of thousands on that table.
There are different types of opals
Should grind down the whole nut instead of cutting it in half making it twice as small

Aaahhhemmm.., Young lady, please take some unsolicited advice from an old man who used to be young and fit. Seeing you occasionally kneeling on those rocks without some sort of kneeling pad..? It makes me immediately focus on my damaged knees. Damaged from a lifetime of kneeling and working on uneven and unforgiving surfaces. It sneaks up on you without any warning. Then, you'll have years of serious pain before --- ANY --- Dr will perform a knee replacement. Years of hearing "It's not bad enough, yet.."
So, please... carry and use a kneeling pad or wear knee pads. You'll spend some of your riches flying to the USA, visiting my grave, and thanking me. I promise.
