In this video, DIYNate gives a quick overview of the steps to change out a headlight bulb. In his case, the low light bulb had burnt out and the person he bought the car from left a bulb in the glove box and never changed it out. DIYNate goes through the process of taking out the old bulb (slight turn from the socket to remove), then shows how to pinch the ends of the wiring connector to release the bulb.
He also recommends going ahead and putting the new bulb into the slot first, then connecting the wiring, as this can be a bit easier than trying to connect it (especially if you don't have much play in your wiring).
Warning: Make sure not to touch your headlight bulb - oils on your fingers can cause issues with the replacement bulb, so you are best to not touch the bulb or wear gloves while doing the change.
This is a great / easy DIY project that will likely save you from some additional labor charges from your mechanic or dealer. They also often mark up the bulbs in addition to the labor fee, and you get that great sense of accomplishment with a fairly basic DIY repair project.
