Kandi's tone is very unique. It's like Dionne Warwick's in that it had very rich low tones, but could also reach up into the higher ranges with strength, clarity & control. Most people may not care 4 her voice on an individual level, but let's B honest : her tone added something to Xscape's harmonies overall that made their sound stand out. The other girls can all sing in their own right, but their harmonies 🎼🎵 would have been run-o'-the-mill without Kandi's tone. Same with T-Boz & TLC. I ain't ba huge TLC fan, & T-Boz is a mediocre singer, but she still had a unique tone that help them stand out.
I don’t think anyone was off track it was just that Kandi was singing lead live and on the track she was singing background too… so her tone was missing from the harmony to tie it together.
First Chorus Run: Sound like Tamika was doing the low part, Tocha doing the middle and Tiny doing high. Tocha started switching towards the middle and got it together. Second and So On: They got it together. Kandi-Low Tamika-Middle Tiny-High Overall good live performance #muchrespect
For some reason, to me it sounds like Tamika was singing the middle on the first chorus too, and I think Tocha was singing low. The tones sound the same on the middle part throughout so I'm inclined to think it was Tamika the whole time.
Kandi sounds just like the record!

@@JamaalABivens You're right. You can hear Tamika singing the middle at the beginning.
If you look at a lot of they performances tamika sings the low part of the harmony when Kandi is leading a song
3:25 I Like How She Kinda Blended Her Voice In With Theirs
I think tamika scott was a little off key in the middle. The rest sounded good. Weird too cause tamika usually sounds on point.
One of them are off and it sounds like Tocha
Nati Hill The middle is off. Good ear bro.
Tiny is off
It was Tamika in the very beginning of the first chorus.
good ear for all, just enjoying this beatiful track
They sound horrible on that chorus! Kandi sound wonderful
I'm thinking the same thing. The harmonies on clap my hands something missing???
VHS sound
I think they did it on purpose… maybe were trying to perform it differently, live? It does sound weird though
yeah sombody off Its tosha
its tamika
Love how u can finally hear Tiny in da background
Tamika is off not tocha
3:03 I don’t know what y’all talking about. But Tamika Sounds good here.
Did Tocha say “I’m willing to stay by his sorry ass”?
Yes 😂😂😂
@@elijahdryden1564 Wow smh 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Those harmonies was a no... makes me wonder if the other live performances had a backing track for the chorus
Didn't they sing Who Can I Run To on this show? If so, do you have it to upload?
I think so, I'm going to look for it.
You can tell they're singing live
