Great video! I just encountered this issue with one of Dells first ever 30 inch monitors which I’ve used since 2008. It’s served me really well. The trouble I have is there is no OS MENU when I’m trying to bring it up! So I guess this is the end for my monitor

I was all through my settings trying to fix this. I have a dell tower but some off ass brand simple tk monitors on my work desktop. This worked for them too. You're the real MVP

perfect tutorial and works but i have an issue when enabling the overclock on the monitor and when you are prompted to reboot and initiate a reboot everything is reset and the burn in mode is activated and the overclock is not set as it is reset to factory settings with burn in mode enabled
I was trying to recover the system after replacing motherboard on a Dell AIO 5490 System same screen color only, but you helped me out with this video, same procedure, then I got normal screen going. So Helpful thanks to share. I will do same. San Francisco Bay Computer Services.

is this permanently turn off?, mine was not. after power off and turned on, this option (burnin) automatically in 0n status
For the second step. I dont have power saving I have something called deep monitor sleep enable or disable. I will assume thats the power saving mode so i have that on disable. Would that be the correct option?
Do you know how to get in to the service menu in these?

I have an Msi g24c and it’s stick which I’m assuming burn in mode as well but there is only two buttons on it and the osd menu doesn’t pop up so I’m so confused on how to get it out of burn in mode

My Dell just started random flickering every few hours(lasts a second or two). I turned the brightness down to 60% from 70% a few days ago. Would that do it?

I have experienced what you talked about with the setting not saving when I changed it with my pc on, and I think it has something to do with the computer being on when you change the setting. I turned off power saving on the monitor and put my computer to sleep, then I accessed the menu while the pattern was still flashing. I then went ahead and changed the burn pattern setting while it was flashing, and the instant I changed it, it stopped flashing and saved when I exited the menu. When I woke up my pc, monitor worked as intended and I was able to turn power saving back on with everything back to normal.
hi i need some help if possible. I did his trick and the flashing has stopped but whatever i do i cannot set it back to 165hz. It seems like its capped at 144hz. U have any idea what to do? thx in advance!

My monitor is an MSI OPTIX MAG24C and it does this but i don’t have any extra buttons anywhere, only one power button. this is a new pc and monitor and i just hooked everything up, spent roughly 1,400 dollars on the pc and monitor, any help is greatly appreciated.

So I haven't had this problem, but earlier when I turned on my computer and was about to sign in, the background don't show up and it was just a red screen. I was able to sign in but there was no picture. I'm assuming that's just a glitch. I also am having a problem while in game where the bottom of the screen would flash red every now and then. Not super often, but just randomly it would appear at the very bottom of the screen. Not sure if it's my computer getting to hot or something. Maybe it's the HDMI signal, idk. It doesn't cause any problems, It just kinda appears there at random moments.
Pleeeesse help me. I just got a computer and on both of my monitors it has a floating screen that says auto detect self feature check. I have unplugged everything and plugged it all back up. Pressed enter, even right click on the mouse. Nothing.

I do have the same issue and I had already tried your solution, but for me it didn't work, flickering keeps going on. But what seems to have soled it right now is to perform a factory reset.

I shut my computer down over night for 24 hours and it worked. I hope it did. what button did You use? also I thought it was AC adopter and it turns out it wasn't.

Hello, mb you can help me with the dell s2716dg. When Gsync is enabled it cause me sooo much flickering in games menus / loading screens etc. Any solution plz?
You need to check your nvidia settings in the desktop. Your monitor might be set higher than your PC is putting out. For example, I have three monitors, all identical, but I run one on 144Hz and the other two on 60. I moved recently and had to set my stuff up. For whatever reason, my games were only running 60fps on my 144hz monitor. Turns out I had the wrong monitor in place and all I did was use nvidia settings to change the resolution to match the fps to Hz of that monitor. Make sense?

Hi! Question I have an older monitor but it's dell, it's a 2013 model and it has the same issue, but it doesn't have those bottom buttons. How can I solve this issue?
If it doesn't have buttons, I don't have a clue! Might be time to upgrade to a new one.

I have the same monitor and had issues where I saved the settings and the burn in pattern would instantly come back when I powered it off/on. I fixed it by replacing the main board with one from eBay.

It's a pain in the ass whenever i doze off near the monitor it goes into power saving and the flickering starts only for me to wake up and see those colors it just triggers me. Thanks for the fix. Though I wish it could save these settings, so annoying to input everytime. Should have sticked with my 60hz asus, it worked flawlessly but I wantez 144hz 2k, oh well.

Dude but my problem is that in my pc there is colour problem of black and white like half black and half white when I slap pc then it worked colourful otherwise not
Hi have you had the issue when you go to overclocking refresh rate to 165hz and say yes that everything basically goes back to factory settings
Never tried to over clock it so nothing to give you on this one, sorry.

Hi Eric, while you found a fix for the issue, would the issue still be considered a monitor defect? I just got a new monitor and it's doing this, while you solution helped, in my mind the monitor is still defective because it shouldn't even do this to begin with. I have another monitor just like the one I bought now and it doesn't have this issue.
It's an idiotic "Dell thinking defect" For so many people to be complaining about this and Dell doing this on more than one model it show *me* I can't trust Dell.

Thanks for the video. Quick question, in order to get that menu did you say to hit the power button? Then the button to the right? I keep doing that but hitting the power button just turns it off (obviously lol) any ideas?
Not the power but the one right next to it.
@@gridsquare I keep hitting that button, but nothing appears on the screen. None of the buttons do anything expect the power button that turns the monitor off.
