It helps that he was depending on this movie to live. He was broke. He sold his dog. He made an adult film. He really was depending on this movie to get by.
From what i know, the dude is only 2 iq points less than Albert Einstein. Hes a genius and knows how to use it and be smart with it. He was homeless and was coming up with scripts for Rambo and Rocky movies, and he got some people to take him seriously as the main role when he sold the scripts, those people started turning them into films and eventually he had become a star and rivaled Arnold Shwarzenegger. That was very unheard of, for me. Even now with Tulsa King, he knows how to lay down complicated words, and phrase sentences to make sense, or get someone's attention easily and get them hooked on what was happening before and what's gonna happen after. @idontknow164
@projectfear22 my favorite is his First Blood commentary. He really goes into what it was like filming and how he felt doing everything. Like the tarp and yarn as a coat was improv because they filmed in Southwestern Canada and it was cold. I think his Rocky commentaries are his best because the movies are, at their core, how Sly thinks of himself and where he is at the point in which he is writing the scripts. So it's interesting listening to him talk about that kind of stuff.
It really does give it a personal, lifelike view doesnt it, its got obviously exaggerated entertainment, which is exactly what you want from a movie, but things like this is what makes it 'real' to us, i could never really put my finger on how it did it, but this is one of the reasons, it plays in your subconciousness.

Honestly that’s actually really inspiring. I’m producing a play on a shoe string budget right now and this just goes to show that creativity and passion is what really determines the quality. It also just fits the themes of Rocky so well
Just watched Rocky for like the 20th time. Rocky is like the Wizard of Oz, one can turn it on at any point in the film and continue viewing. Rocky is close to 50 years in age. And it never seems to age.
If they didn't acknowledge these things nobody would've noticed, but because the point is that Rocky is this underdog nobody cares about, pointing out this kinda stuff in makes him more endearing and makes you even more invested in seeing him succeed

This movie is a work of art. It’s by far the best Rocky. It showcases his humble beginnings and utterly sad beginnings. It’s a glimpse into the past as well, where people just talked so different and behaved so different. It tells a wonderful motivational story and the story behind filming it is even more impressive. Rocky will always be an American Classic Film. Truly one of the greatest films of all time.
