Thanks for the information. I had no idea how to even get it started to lower the power level. Mine works the same way except in the end you push 8 for 80% or 3 for 30%. I found that by accident. Otherwise mine works the same way to get started. It would never dawned on my to have the door open. And also the sequence of how to do it. So Thank-you so much!!! :-)

The instruction booklet does say to set the time up front. But for changing the power level the instructons say nothing about having the door open to program lower power levels. Glad he figured it out and made this video. Hopefully LG will learn something..

The instruction booklet does not say to set the time first. Not under the power level instruction section anyways. You have to read on to the manual cooking instructions to get to that part. And if you're like me and annoyed bc there should be no reason to have to read on to figure out how to set the power level. Under the power level it just says 'press power level to set cooking power'. Does not say anything about time. And under microwave power levels, it just has a breakdown of what to set power levels to for the kind of food you're cooking. Nothing about setting time first. Poor instruction manual design. But a good small microwave in the end. 🤙

Renting a flat with an LG microwave...spent quite a bit of time trying to heat something at a reduced microwave power level....could reduce power level but everytime I then hit start,the microwave beeped and nothing happened. Couldn't get anywhere....frustration! Downloaded manual....no progress. Googled and got your youtube clip...so tried opening door, then reducing power level, then closed door and pressed start....bingo, it worked! Not broken after all!!

Thanks sooo much !When I left the door open I was able to reset the power level.I shut the door and hit start. Had already set time first . Now I can cook a frozen dinner! Guess I need to buy a microwave book! My wall oven went out last week!

If the user has to look up a youtube video to figure out how to change the power level, it's a bad design. The manual doesn't say jack about hitting time first.

Well I would never figured that out without your help. Mine is a weed bit different so we open the door we put the time in we press power level but you had to digitally touch 12 or three to get 10% 20% or 30% and then start it I had no plus or minus is sweet though you gave me a starting point
