We have a 1056 & a 1056P. Both fans are in our bedroom (we live in Malta!!). We have one either side of the bedroom and both operating at up to level 10 over night during the summer months. Yes, at that level they can be heard, but it is not a really intrusive noise, we both find it easy enough to sleep and they are moving so much air around, it makes the whole room so much more comfortable. During the cooler months, we use between level 2 and 4, just to keep the air circulating over night and at those levels, there honestly is hardly any noise at all.

I get a high-pitched whine (not too loud, but definitely noticeable) that lasts for around 20 or 30 seconds every minute or two with my 1056. If I increase the speed it goes away. It's only a few weeks old.

Thank you for your purchase and your email. This sounds like the fan motor.

@@MeacoUK I wrote to you about it a while ago. In my opinion (granted I'm not the expert here!) it's a vibration-related issue as I only have to very lightly touch one of the three screws located behind the fan blade and the noise stops instantly. I've experimented by tightening/loosening the screws in version combinations, but the only thing that stops the whining is a light touch on the head of any of those three screws. I'll be happy to email you a sound file + photos if you would like.

@@MikeJB6 there will be some vibration from the sync motor and the fan motor, some, but slight. Vibration will always stop when you touch it because your mass is greater than the mass of the fan. The vibrations are therefore absorbed by your body. This will always be the case, you are of course welcome to send us a video if you are still concerned.

@@MeacoUK Thanks for the reply. I understand what you're saying, but if I touch the screws with my finger, that doesn't make any difference. I've sent an email with a photo and audio sample.

Having the exact same issue, only 2 days old. Did you ever find a solution?

I've had 2 brand new fans now and both are making a creaking noise at the top of the vertical oscillation. The build quality is just terrible. I can't keep sending these back it's so frustrating. I love the fan but two in a row now?

Same here, just opened the box and mine makes a click noise at the top of the vertical oscillation and the bleeper is faulty - it’s making a vibrating beep and it can’t be turned off unlike the 650!!

Hi, I need to replace the bearings that spins the blade shaft. It's making grinding noise. Is there a repair manual so I know how best to remove and replace that bearing?
I'm hoping there is because right to repair is a thing and it should be easily accessible. Especially on an item that costs as much as this does.

Any solution to it wobbling when it goes round and vibrating ?

I have a problem with sleeping with noise, but on speed 1 I can deal with it during these hot nights, because without it I'd probably die. So yeah it's a worthy trade off in my opinion.

Anyway of disabling the bleep sound.

I am afraid not, only the 650 has that feature.

@@MeacoUK why didn’t you have the foresight to include it on this model too? The bleeper is tinny, loud and vibrates each time it make a bleep…..very poor quality control for a fan that’s nearly £110.

Would be useful if there were breaks in the talking so we could actually hear the fan.

I have had this fan for 3 days now, and from the 2nd day it has already started intermittently making a weird whining noise. This is not satisfactory considering I paid £109.99 for this fan! At first I was very impressed with the fan’s very quiet operation and features, but for it to start making this VERY annoying loud whining noise after just a few days use is unacceptable. I thought paying much more for this fan rather than another of the many cheaper fans available seemed to be worth it, but it seems not. I shall be contacting customer service for a return/refund unless a fault free replacement can be arranged.

A decibel meter would have been good for this video

I understand what you are saying, but something worth noting is that not all decibels are the same, you can have two prodyucts at the same decibel rating, say 30dB and one could make a very pleasant noise (our aim) and the other could have a very irritating noise. When designing and testing we always look to make the products as quiet as possible, whilst concentrating on the noise being very pleasant.
