Time sure does fly eh! It’s been a long process but we are getting very close. As you probably know there is a lot of hoops to jump through getting this AC type on the AOC. Both on the Transport Canada side and Boeing maintenance and certifications. We are very close now to bringing the aircraft to Canada. Still need a little more time for the Import and test flying the new avionics.
Any update on this plane Mikey ?
@@markashley1754 The comment you commented on was my update 10 hours ago.
Sorry about that Mikey I didn’t even notice when it was posted
Any update mikey???
@@oofedyt9037 on their AOC, there is no Boeing aircraft listed yet
I remember that episode when Chuck was frustrated with the Electra, and he said Boeing made a fix called the 737. Nice.
Lol
I was just watching and thought of that. It airs in the US on the weather channel.
LOL
I wonder if Chuk is gonna on this to
My dad used to fly electras. HR-TNL. He then went to the 732. HR-TNR
It's funny, I'm a Swiftair pilot and I had no clue we sold you guys one of our babies! Take good care of her, they're great
Es uno que lleva 4 años aparcado en BOH, la matricula original en España era EC-LJI
It is pretty cool that this guy has a whole commercial jet. Maybe he can make it into a restaurant or put a 1000 HP engine in the landing gear to make it into a massive off-road bus.
Swiftair at pti gso??
it wasnt your or our baby it was your company's lessor's insurer's bank's baby.
Hope it’s not a Max….
It's a tough, versatile plane. In 1972 Boeing arranged to have a 737 land on a short, grass strip at Hope, BC, to demonstrate its capabilities. There are videos of this on the web but there is an error in the headings. They refer to Hope as being in the Rocky Mountains, but it is in the Coast range.
I'm a 737 mechanic and I love these airplanes, congrats!
Joe will retro fit props lol i can see why you guys went this way, getting the fuel you need for the piston engines isn't easy. UK viewing looking forward to seeing your new addition to the fleet.
1st 737 with pontoons
A couple of 1830s will solve that funny noise!!
Can't wait for a break down of "why did we buy a 737" interested to see how it compares to an Electra. and what you plan on using it for.
Thats coming!
@@MikeyMcBryan Full depreciation make it more affordable also right? :)
Probably easier to get parts
@Eric Church...of course, much newer technology...and I had read somewhere that Electra's were pretty complex, for their day'. Thanks.
@@darrellborland119 the mechanics arent taught on the older planes much....
Hey Mikey, congratulations on the “new” 737. Can’t wait to see it in Buffalo livery!
Seeing the Buffalo Airways logo and paint scheme on the 737 really brings it together. Great job, Mikey!
I've never clicked so fast!
HUGE congratulations!! That’s so exciting! Wonderful news y’all! 🥳
Yea! Glad to see you are getting such a nice plane to add to your fleet! Congrats and please keep all of us all updated.
I don’t know what to think. But, it’s the right option for the fleet. I would never have thought Mikey (& Joe) would do something this drastic for the company. But, good luck in this journey of a new addition to the Fleet. Hopeful to see some new content with it, including the journey of joining the fleet.
WOW! Now the most cheerful airline manager on UA-cam has a Jet! This is going to be awesome! You have all of your fans on pins and needles waiting for more.
Congratulations! I did the technical records for Qantas on the 737 fleet. We called them the Cadillac of the air and they deserved it. Great to see the business growing! Keep us informed!
It was a great honor to have met you Mikey several years ago. I love that buffalo is getting a 733SF! Very exciting and I wish you and all the Buffalo family every success!
Congrats. It'd be great to see new episodes of Ice Pilots again.
One of the best shows to ever air!!!!
@@billyjustbilly7923 I know right
Brutal - loved it ❤️
I thought I recognized him. I'll be subscribing to the channel. It's been a while since I had seen the show.
Nice to see you again Mikey, really nice news to see you have got another plane in the fleet.
Hope to see more of it soon. And hope to see more of your saving projects
Congrats to you Mikey and the whole Buffalo team! This is a big leap and a lot of potential can be realized upgrading to the 737.
Congratulations! You guys are doing well, and I am very glad to see that. Great to see your excitement about your new 737! Excellent news!
Congratulations 737 what a perfect addition to the Buffalo fleet! It's a beautiful plane! Cheers from Sask Canada!✌🏼
A fellow Saskatchewan fan👍🏽
@@Johnthelittlebuilder that's cool!🙂✌🏼
Hey Sean, betcha that Mikey knows where Sask(atchewan) is,
Great to see you again Mikey.. Been so long since you had a video out every day restoring the dc3.
Fantastic video my friend ❤️🙏🏼✈️
That’s GREAT news Mikey!!! Hope you guys do it right and then expand your amazing operations in the north… the people of the north deserve it! Well done! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Omg.. this is so ironic!! Just this week I have been binge watching Plane Savers! I was there for every original episode but wanted to relive it. Now.. this new opportunity and phase at Buffalo will truly be something to look forward to!!! Congrats Mikey and all at Buffalo! Missed you!!
Great aircraft. I have 30 years of 737 time (25,000 hours) in my log book and having flown the 200, 300, 500, 700, and 800, I can say unhesitatingly that they are awesome, rugged, and reliable aircraft.
Man, go fly for them!
I love reliable aircraft 👍
I flew the 100, 200, 300, 500, 700, 800, 900 and 900ER. I ended up with around 24000 hours in the books. I agree that the 737 series are great reliable aircraft.
Big hours lol
What about the Super Max?
Ha Mikey great news Make sure you take us all the way from U K back to Yellowknife 🇨🇦🇨🇦 Don’t miss a thing!! Plus a little a little tour in jolly old England
Well done, you look so happy. It’s good to share your joy.
Good stuff!! I used to fly for Swiftair :) and I can tell you that plane has got a lot of history for sure!! Glad to see Buffalo Is getting It!
Glad to see Buffalo airways continuing works
I remember watching a buffalo episode and it was all about the weather sux, we can't fly. It was as if no plane could fly in these conditions, meanwhile in the background you could see a WestJet 737 climbing out with zero issues. Just kind of reminded me the colossal different between modern jets and those old radial prop planes.
I was at Norfolk Va airport in 1973. ( so long ago, it might have had Regional in it's name) The airport had no traffic because the snow removal equipment was having major problems. Jets were not coming in or leaving. Then I heard it.....RADIAL ENGINES on something big. I could make out the big nose of a C-46 above the ground fog. Only plane that flew in that day.
Incredible, congratulations Mikey and team Buffalo!!!
Hi Mikey, great to see you posting again. It has been too long. I hope everybody is doing well. I used to live in Bournemouth when I was at university. If the new plane is based at Bournemouth International, I have also watched aircraft fly in and out of there from a nice view point not to far away. I'm glad to see Buffalo is doing well enough to be able to have a new generation of jets taken onboard. All the best.
Can confirm, she's an absolute beauty! And that cargo door, forget hamburger doors, this door is the whole cow!
Thanks for letting me go have a sneek peak Mikey 👀
Awesome. And, it's so good to hear from you. Think about you and everyone often. Excited for the new direction
Fantastic news! Thank you for sharing!!
Finally Buffalo join the JET era, congratulation and hopefully you guys will keep prospering as well providing the life line to the Canadian Great North o7
Great! Nice to see Buffalo getting a jet engine plane. Hope it works out for y'all.
This is awesome Mikey! I remember watching you guys on Ice Pilots with your classic prop planes! This is a major step up! Congrats!
Fantastic! I would have liked to hear the news of more DC-3s joining the operational fleet, but it is great to see the business is up and running and growing. All the best!
It's about time for a vid Mikey, we've been patiently waiting.😂 Let's goooo! 👍
De-icing with a broom on a 737 wing at -40 is about to get real!
Congratulations to you all…. Definitely a big step forward ….. Cheers from cold Quebec, Canada !
Congrats Guys!! A big step forward for Buffalo.
Found this in my recommended videos…
Loved the excitement he’s showing about the acquisition.
But what really cracked me up, was the end statement…
Coming to a “PAVED” airport near you….lol🤣
Best of luck with your new toy when you get it! 👍🏻😎
Bummer eh! Was sort of hoping to see the float conversion and then watching the rooster tails going down the lake on takeoff.
Wow Mikey that's unexpected. I certainly expected a Basler BT-67 or even a brand new Cessna 408 SkyCourier. These are direct replacements for current aircraft. A plane like the 737 will change Buffalo. Hopefully, this is a good reason for a video series. Man how I miss and many with me the famous Ice Pilots series.
Mikey did say he was going to bring us along on the journey of getting the 737
@Hayden himburg , Well then we have to start keeping him on his promise. It would be a shame if it stayed with just one video
Congrats, Happy for you guys 👍
Welcome back , great! Way to go Buffalo !!! I can´t wait for the follow-up.
Keep the blue side up!
Damn Mikey, now I need a Buffalo skin for my 737 in Xplane! It's going to be so much easier to get fuel now :-) Congrats to the Buffalo team!
Wow! Big change!!! That plane comes from a Spanish airline specialised in cargo and charters. They sometimes have gone with maddogs to africa ans warzones. So for sure it might have some history too. Hope to hear more things from the new addition
CIA work?
Mikey!! Good to hear from you again. We’ve been missing you. Congratulations on the 737.
Congrats guys! Happy for you!
Congratulations Team!!
I spent many a year as a rampie working with the 73's. She's a good ship and will serve you well.
I remember when Mikey (Ice Pilots) said we are modernizing the fleet with Electras; wow, what a step. You are now in the '70s, LOL. You have always had the best equipment for your circumstance, and you continue your greatness, good luck.
mid 80's ;)
@@MikeyMcBryan steady on Mikey, you will have to start watching colour tv at this rate.

Great to hear from you again Mike, and congratulations on the new airplane, hope it's everything you have hoped for 👍🇳🇿.
Fantastic, congratulations all!
Congratulations Mikey! I’m so excited for Buffalo! I’m looking forward to following along this venture and wish you the best of success!
As somebody with 15,000+ hours in B737-100/200/300/500/700/800/900 you've got a great airplane that will be dramatically more reliable than the Electra and warbirds.
You've flown the -100 and NG ? Not many people like that around I guess. :P
@@rkan2 Hmmm ... that's an interesting question.
Wow, may I ask what airlines you've worked for? It's pretty incredible to meet someone who's flown the NG, classic, and original series.

@@StevieWonder737 Wow, what a career you had! Hats off to you sir!!
Wow! Congratulations! This is SO exciting!

Congratulations :-) Even though I love the older DC3, C46 and Electra, I know that adding a 737 to your fleet will be a great addition.
What you do with your JU 52 ?
@@dianedougwhale7260 Goes without saying that I would for sure keep it restored and flying :-)
I'm looking forward to seeing you install a lift kit and off road tires on this vessel so you can do off-field work, maybe even some skis or floats.
Unable. Engine will be damaged.
Congrats Mikey and Buffalo, looking forward to seeing videos of it.
Nice to see you again Mikey!. Hope you and the crew are all well, and slowly starting to warm up as the summer heads your way. Watched and thoroughly enjoyed , like a lot of people, the original Buffalo Air series. Bought the box set of DVD's for the series, and once every year of so they get an airing. Wonder who's still there from all that long ago? Never gets old. Congrats on the 737. But careful, the Electra's might get jealous :-).
Cheers
Pete' New Zealand.
Major step up for Buffalo. Excellent choice! An airplane with good flying character with a great dispatch reliability 99%. You won't be able to put ski on it, or a gravel kit. It been my favorite plane to fly for over 25 years (200, 300, 500, 700, 800 series). Best part is you can get a mechanic to work on it around the globe, and there's a great supply of parts. The B-737 makes a great personal plane, and easy to find on the ramp.
737 has a kit available for gravel
@@semajniffirg230 that's for the 737-200. This is a 737-300SF which does not support the gravel kit.
Was totally expecting it to be a 737-200 with the non paved landing modification like you see with Canadian North. Should be interesting!
These days aren't 200s a liability with that crappy old wiring? I'd be especially worried about embrittlment due to cold on that insulation but eh
@@Dr_KW Oh they are quite a ride but there aren't many if any alternatives that aren't stupid expensive. Ive flown on the 737-200's probably 100 times going up and back from the oilfield in Northern Alberta. They are also made modular and can be converted to a cargo mode or a mixed cargo/passenger flight. Honestly they cant be any more or less liability wise than a dc3/4 lol
hell yeah. cant wait to see her in her new colors. congratulations!!!
Brilliant.
Congratulations guys, huge step to future pricing your company.
Well done
Weird coincidence.. I was looking at some 737-200 videos the other day and I thought that Buffalo could use these on gravel strips. I was almost right! Excited for the new project, Mikey.
I definitely think they will pick up the 732s from Canadian North and Air Inuit when they are inevitably retired.
Wow congratulations! Is this still as versatile as the 200 in the conditions you guys will be using it in? Think I've flown more 737-300 than any other type :D
Yeah I've also wondered if the -300 still has gravel kit options, Air Inuit still flies 737-200 Combis to unpaved runways.
@@Kalvinjj he did say in the video coming to a paved runway near you so probably won’t be needing the gravel kit if there even was one available. Also it’s a lot more fuel efficient than a dinosaur 100/200
From what i understand, There is no gravel kit for the NG series of 737's the big CFM engines sit too close to the ground and have to big an opening to stop gravel entering, where the classic 100/200 the JT8D's sat higher off the ground and were small enough diameter that the gravel kits were able to significantly reduce the chances of gravel ingestion
@@williamcarnero9595 No such thing as a gravel kit for anything but the 200, the newer Gen engines are too big and close to the ground
You could probably make a gravel git for pretty much any aircraft - but it isn't worth it with all these gravel capable aircraft already in existance, such as the -200, some rear engined ones and them turboprops..
Congratulations, Buffalo!!
Congratulations Buffalo Airways, beautiful aircraft!
I never thought I would see the day that you would talk your dad into buying a true JET airplane that is manufactured by a company that is still in business and can supply support and parts‼️
:-)
Does this mean they're not going to use that crop duster bi-plane they found in that barn west of Kanas City?
That'll be cool. Are you going to let the maintenance staff put 2800s on it?
Wonderful news! Keep em flying Buffalo!
Two classics coming together! Buffalo and the mighty 737! I wish you all the best and always three green!
As long as it’s not an 737-Max 8 then this is epic.
I really hope Buffalo airways keeps going. I really hope I can get a ride in a DC-3 someday
Congratulations! Looks like you are getting older like the rest of us! The 737 was designed to sell to 3rd World Countries whose pilots were notorious for poor training and hard on the aircraft. Turns out to be almost as successful as the DC-3. Great choice.
Almost? I’m pretty sure the 737 is the leader.
That's a pretty asinine statement. A well engineered airplane is not designed specifically so that poorly trained pilots can fly it. There are plenty of folks in first world countries turning "idiot proof" airplanes into heaps of burning metal as we speak. The -300 is a rugged platform but it wasn't built that way just so it could take a beating from lousy pilots. There have also been almost 11,000 737's built to date, but only 600 or so DC-3's- easy to see which is more commercially successful.
Designed for poorly trained third world pilots? The first (and almost all) 737-100s were ordered by Lufthansa, the 737-200 was initially ordered by United.
Congratulations! Onward and upward! Can't wait to see her!
Amazing Mickey!!! Congratulations to Buffalo for the leap forward , not that I didn’t like the workhorse’s that you already had. Still hoping to come and see you all later this year! PlaneSavers rocks
Awesome!!! Congratulations!!!
Keep us posted.
WOW ! Congratulations, to Buffalo Airways. The 737 family of aircraft are a great, reliable, easily maintained aircraft.
Congrats on getting the B737-300SF!
Wishing all of NWT community people have enough supplies!
