Best description about "How to run Bottles" I have ever seen in the UA-cam videos. Thanks so much.
Not a permanent solution to running Windows apps, but it does the job for most applications. 👍
Want permanent solution? Switch back to Windows. Or at least dual boot it when real need arises. I say "real" because if Linux is so much better then why the need for windows apps? There should be equivalent or better apps on Linux, right?
@@mkatakm Yes I agree, I would use native apps (and I do) over proprietary Windows apps on Linux
@@mkatakm ... Windows has been dominant for ages. So it has tonnes and tonnes of Software ... Definitely more than Linux (For regular users)
@@wayando that's the exact problem I meant. You are using tons of programs on an OS that were meant for another OS.
On the other hand you can debloat a windows installation and block all the remaining telemetry apps using an open source firewall like Portmaster, then you are done.
@@mkatakm ... This is the problem that needs to be cured. Windows is the disease. Not the programs.
For now the developers are developing for Windows because they want to make sales. But if enough people shift, it would make sense to allocate some more effort to Linux.
Fantastico 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you very much, it is very helpfull
I thought this was Jonas Tyroller’s secret account. You both have similar voices. 😅
This looks extremely easy to do.. i just installed Linux Mint and have been trying to install some windows stuff using wine and it's been a nightmare... I think I'll give bottles a try.
Give a try to windows.
Recently loaded bottles , but have a probolem with connecting to a printer (Cannon CP810) the Windows software for the printer appears to work , but carnt find the printer . Adding the printer in Linux (mint) I get a CUPS printer server error . Can you please help.
Please tell me how to run .exe any emulator by using bottle What are the dependencies are requried to run emulator in bottle because I try and open but after few min it will show error . please tell
And how do you connect your win apps to your local environment?
Please tell me how to run LD player or bluestacks emulator using bottle
Isn't it funny that those who switch to Linux because they hate Windows try hard afterwards to run windows apps on Linux. Why? Don't you have equivalent Linux apps?
Windows has tonnes of programs because it has been dominant for ages ... The programs are not the problem, it's the Windows.

@@mkatakm ... An OS is like a "God" of the environment. The OS that runs on the metal has ALL the "power" ... If the makers of the OS decided to bypass the Firewall, then they would. Even if it meant sending an update.
And this is the problem. Windows has a spyware problem at it's roots ... For example Win11; the whole thing is a malware from ground up.
Maybe this is less of a problem for non-connected computers ... But then newer Laptops come with built-in cellular modems, and we have no idea what those are doing! ... Remember the reason they accused Huawei of spying?
That's why it may be better to start with Linux at the root, on the metal. Then even Windows can run on top of that e.g. through V.M or Wine+Bottles. That way the problems of Windows can easily be controlled, because there is a higher power over it (Linux).
With time, you get Linux equivalents one by one. And if enough people jump over, then developers also shift focus.
