If it is your first time look for other fishermen. Then you can spread out from there. I used to use a Vexlar.

Try lifting your rod when you have a bite, it works great for me, quit jerking so much lift the jig you will be impressed and keep the hook covered specially the tip of the hook, I wish I could get out fishing, and I one of these days. Peace Out
