I’ve been having sporadic shooting pains in my chest for 2.5 months. My ekg has shown this left atrium enlargement but the doctor did say they are not very reliable tests. I’m going for an echocardiogram next month and supposed to do a stress test as well. Everything else looks okay, just wish this crap would end
My mom has been found to have enlarged left atrium. She was having a medicine Clopilet which is a blood thinner to mitigate the risk of clotting. Now she consulted 2 doctors and both have suggested her to stop taking it. But she is still taking it because without taking it she is feeling suffocation and breathlessness. Can u tell if taking clopilet is fine in this situation?
Interesting. So this is clearly a serious condition. Why would a MD at an ER say all results are normal and no worries yet this showed up lol . Makes no sense ?
Same here @Winngee. I went to Er with chest pain. They took blood work and chest x-ray. Said blood work looks fine but I looked at my EKG and it said I possibly may have this. Still having irregular heartbeat and chest pain 😢
Just turn 40 & got diagnosed with the left atrial enlargement, What can I expect as far as activities, am athletic 5'9" 163 pounds love golf and jogging biking hiking liable to do any of those things with the heart issue now?
My nieces were telling me about roller coasters I said I found out I have something wrong with my heart and I have to see what the cardiologist says before riding a roller coaster I may not be healthy enough. I don’t want to die on the ride. I didn’t say anything about dying on the ride to them but yeah that’s what I was thinking
I went to the ER for a panic attack and my ECG said this, but my echocardiogram last year showed everything normal. Can this develop in just a year? All my blood work, chest xray etc was normal.
@@cassidylee9418 They said it was most likely an error by the machine. Bad reading. I did a 24 heart monitor after this and it was clean. They say this happens a lot.
I just had an ekg done for the 7th time for my anxiety of my heart also had chest xrays done. They do a quick 1 minute ekg at the dr. Office and it said possible left artial enlargement. I have a cardiologist appointment in a month and a half maybe sooner if I'm lucky enough. I heard some readings are off badly when anxious , otherwise I'm stunned at how the e.r cleared me all those times.

@@randylazo5703 hopefully this helps , but I just got my echocardiogram results and my heart is fine. No left artial enlargement like ekg tried saying. It's a common misread out i hear , so I wouldn't worry until a better test or your dr. Bring it up. You can do what I did for peace of mind and have a line of heart tests done for mental relief though.

I had a normal sinus rhythm but it said left atrium possible enlargement! I asked Dr about it and he said it's nothing! Why would he say that?

I’m 5’3 and 176 pounds well I was 175 this morning I just got diagnosed yesterday do you have chest pain I do. I’m 40 also I will be 41 in July.
