There is a documentary about her, just called "Alison" (one L) with her I believe as the narrator telling it all, and I watched it on either Prime Video or Netflix a few years ago. If anyone is hardcore enough to hang in there through it, it is the most unbelievable survival story I have EVER heard let alone from the survivor herself. One of the things that stuck with me and has haunted me since watching it was how for (and hour? More? I can't remember) she tried to flag down the scarce number of cars out in the middle of nowhere but people were too afraid of her to stop. She said her head kept flopping back between her shoulder blades and she had to pull it back up using her hair in order TO SEE the headlights of potential cars coming along. All the while holding her intestines in so she didn't TRIP over them. The story is clearly told in severely graphic detail so if that's your thing, or you can stomach it just to see what a miraculous survival story it is and how insanely brave and strong Alison is, definitely give it a watch. I actually looked for it the other day and do remember seeing it I think on Netflix. In Italy, where I live but for sure wasn’t the only place, cats were used as food in poor families and during ww1 and 2 in families that couldn’t afford food anymore because of war inflation. So much so that in most north Italian regions, even mine Piedmont, after the wars ended it was considered a delicacy. Passed from being poor people food to some snob food. Now there’s not a law that directly declares illegal to eat cats and dogs but for the furs, its implicit though through the laws for the regulation of meats. I’m some really small villages it is still a thing through older generations.
Apollo 13, everyone, everywhere was glued to their TVs with fingers and everything else crossed, it really brought everyone together. There were lots of tears when they landed safely.

We hear how grief-stricken the man who had to eat his dog probably was, but imagine having to kill your furry friend in order to survive, and then not being able to stomach or keep it down? That happened to one poor woman in the jungle, and I cannot imagine... Not only did she survive to realize she never had to do that in the first place, but she couldn't even get anything down. That guilt would hang over me forever... But there was no way she would have ever known.

The closest I've ever gotten to a life or death situation was some car crashes I've been in. That being said, despite my lack of experience with survival, I know that it's not selfish to want to survive. People can do some questionable things in life or death situations, but it's usually not selfish. We are all born with survival instincts. It is built into are brains and bodies to try and survive. You can't say anything judgement about these innocent people doing things to survive unless you've ever had to make a sacrifice in order to survive. Nobody wants to make those sacrifices. We just have to. And a lot of us will never have to be in those situations. Be thankful for that, but don't judge those of us who have.

Bt, I want to know what happened to the two guys who lied, stole from him, & left him there to die! Did they face justice? Did a lynch mob form? Did the firing squad catch them in the night? I want to know that they paid for that!! Lol sorry, it just pisses me off tht they left him there like that. 😤😡🤬
Yes! I absolutely agree with you. Like what the heck freakin happened 🤦🏾?
@@dgthompson390 look it up...
Maybe she didn't know what happened and that's why?
Actually the maggots would help keep the wound clean and clear of gangrene.
She knew that. She grew up in the Peruvian jungle with zoologist parents.
I don't know what's worse being lost in space or stranded on the ocean
Good job. As always. I was reading some lines the other day for a monologue. First one in a long time… wasn’t easy committing all of that to memory. Haha.
Stop swerving for lil animals
id rather die than kill an animal
Fyi Julienne was stranded in the forest for 11 DAYSSS, NOT "FEW HOURS LATER WHEN SHE FOUND THE ENCAMPMENT" 🙄🤦
These videos are awesome&bizarre
I clicked straight away 😀👍
Mauro's story was interesting but what shocked me most is that he went back... And completed it... Not once.. Not twice.. But a few times??? 😦
I don’t understand why someone would be upset about anyone doing what they can to survive being put in that situation you would do the same if you really had too . No one wants too
great video
Very good!
Love this channel this channel is awesome💖💖💖
Omg you left out an amazing part of the Shackleton story - they landed on the UNINHABITED side of South Georgia Island and trekked THROUGH MOUNTAINS to get to the whaling station on the other side. I want to say it took 36 hours.
One of the documentaries about this story shows world-class mountaineers with modern equipment making the same journey, and they were extremely impressed how they were able to do it in 1914
That's the Leonardo DiCaprio The Revenant.
Luv ur Videos
Go, Alison!!! You're amazing!!
"top 10" proceeds to list 30ish different situations, love it tho
R.I.P doggo the dog is in heaven happy he survived and he knew it was a good reason
Right??? The best boy ever. Also, poor dog was probably starving too if the man himself had nothing to eat either.
No, he was so dehydrated he couldn't bleed out.
Thats why you hit the animal sad but better then you losing your life over a jaywalking deer.
Truman Duncan is from north texas. And I never heard about him before!! Very fascinating to know he survived that!
okay but alison holding her head and holding in her intestines is such a remarkable story
I would never eat my dog is hunt and fish
I am so grateful.
Most of us in developed countries live like Kings in great shape. We need to be grateful every day we don't have to be in the same situation as these people.
I know you have immense respect for your animals as i do. If anything like these examples happen to you and your family depended on you and your animals are going to starve and die you're choice is simple. Die or eat the animals. Think of this , if it was q child or wife would you want them to eat the animals or die a horrible death ☠️ of starvation. If it ce down to this Everyone will die a horrible death or eat animals. Pass. the leg 🦵 of dogtoe please
No mocking around, get straight on with the story. Just what I ❤️ about MATop10.👍🏻
Steve was lost at sea for two months and he managed to keep himself alive the whole time!?
I could've swore he died for a week or so somewhere in there! 😂
The story about Mary’s arms getting ripped off made me cry
I'm from South Africa, we love you out here 🤞
A quick sub ❤️
Btw Arron had to break his arm but fun fact he made a video for his family because he thought he was gonna die
13:12 is it me or does she look like billie eilish
Olivia, I hope you don't mind me saying, but you are pretty.
Olivia was my grandmother's name. I enjoy your narration, you have a of an angel.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks these are all epic survival warriors
If you haven't seen the movie Alive from the 90s about the plane crash in the Andes mountains, watch it
The one with Marco makes me wanna trade in my chihuahua.
Seriously though, I can't imagine having to eat my dog.
Truly man's best friend. I think that the dog understood and gave his life to save his friends.
You're narrating skills are superb. It's so satisfying to hear you. It's pure professionalism.
At the 32:43 mark I have a question??? How small was that help sign if the animal head next to it looked the same size? So, was the sign extremely small OR was that a GINORMOUS SKULL!?!? Help me make it make sense please and thank you!!!🙏❤🙏❤
HOLY MACARONI, has anyone here seen the show "I shouldn't be alive" ? some of those stories are in here. Its mind boggling tbh, and the stories are so sad. These stories and others, are the reason why I am a home body. LOL
you are fantastic.

Excuse my childishness kicking in...
This mountain formation should be called mount bums
😂😂😂😂😂
Ha!
All these years of hearing about the Donner party in the cannibalistic actions they had to take. I never knew it was called Donna Reed? That Donna Reed was an actress? Well you learn something new everyday!
Lucky for Jan's he was hiding out from those german iceholes in a ice hole
honestly I would have used the dog to help hunt food instead of eaten it
Wait what..!! Olivia is from Saskatchewan..?? Same here 🤗 Lol
Second!! I love your videos sm!!
My fav💎
Alison Botha story should be told more. She survived death. A true miracle only God can give. She is a strong woman and her story needs to be told more.
That first lady is a trooper, she definitely had angels watching her….but personally me, i would have died with my dog.
2:58 the sichuration sis?? 😆 Your TENNESSEE CAME OUT THEN
The closest I've ever gotten to a life or death situation was some car crashes I've been in.
