This is why I love all the NCT units so damn much! It’s like, yeah…there are artists that show up more then once too, but NCT show up more then once…and with genres that are so vastly different from every other measurable scale imaginable. They are so experimental and I ADORE ITTTT!!
Tysm for this video! Just a couple comments on the afro genres at 0:51 , as music from my people ❤: - afro trap doesn't really exist as a genre, but afro house does. That said "More than Words" is afro house with trap & afrobeats features, while "eyes roll" is afrobeats with afro house features :) - The other name you've tried to mention I think is Amapiano. Amapiano music is a specific subgenre of the much broader term of afropop (which includes Afrobeats for instance). Amapiano originates from South Africa and is more club-like than usual afrobeats. You recognise it by its rather soft, minimalistic percussions + a large presence of maracas, so yes "Smarter" is Amapiano. Sometimes in songs like Tyla's "Water" you also have this electronic base that accompanies the amapiano beat! - With that distinction, "Tinnitus" is really an afrobeats song but not amapiano. You can tell by the beat distinction with Smarter (Amapiano). Afrobeats originates from Nigeria/Ghana and is now adopted as pop music in many countries in Western and Southern africa :) - "Me myself and i" by Fatou is also an afropop song, with fewer distinction features to be specifically part of afrobeats! :D - People sometimes don't make the distinction and like to call amapiano as afrobeats since both genres are sometimes mixed, but really the most inclusive term for both genres is "afropop" music. But if you were to make fewer distinctions, it's preferable to call amapiano afrobeats than calling non-amapiano afropop amapiano 😊 Hope it helps, wish you have a lovely day!! Also has your channel been remonetised now??
HEAVY ON THE ARABIC POP ONE (2:16)WHEN I FIRST HEARD THE INTRUMENTAL IT WAS GOING VIRAL ON TT AND I NEVER WOULD'VE GUESSED IT WAS A KPOP SONGS INSTRUMENTAL
you can learn how to identify genres just look up videos and examples which help. rate your music is a helpful site which you can see the genres of a specific artist, album, song, etc.
@@yayyjpop OOOOO interesting ill definitely check it out, thank you!!! finding out types of genres and subgenres sounds interesting so i might start educating myself on that :3
that's a tremendous amount of work 😮 and very well done at that ! i think the only genre i would have added might be what I'd call cybernetic (like what onewe's giuk does). though some of it might fall into glitch pop or some sort of drill/house/alt-rock subgenre
Really well done. it must have taken ages to make this. I get annoyed recently when I hear comments like how kpop all sounds the same. An objective rebuttal is needed and this video fits the bill. It is as diverse as the global music industry.
the video is so good but there is some inaccuracies, that twice song is definitely not arrocha!! and the tropikillaz remix of better things is actually funk brasileiro in its pure form, tropikillaz is one of the most popular funk producers in brazil. and ringo doesn’t sound like mandelão at all some recommendations for your research: arrocha: - camaro amarelo (munhoz e mariano) - balada (gusttavo lima) - porque homem não chora (pablo) ps: arrocha is known for its accordion funk brasileiro: - vai malandra (anitta feat tropikillaz and dj yuri martins) - vai embrazando (mc zaac) - se ta solteira (fbc, vhoor, mac julia) funk ostentação: - os mlk é liso (mc rodolfinho) - ostentação fora do normal (mc leo da baixada) funk mandelão: - agudo mágico 3 (mc kk, dj tg beats, dj aurélio, mc lipivox) - montagem silent hills (dj arana) - automotivo bibi fogosa (bibi babydoll) hope it helps! thanks a lot for your video, it’s really amazing and informative 🩷
Yes I didn't want to say because the video must have been so hard to make, but some examples were not very accurate. I hope people take this video with a grain of salt. Also, sometimes just a beat or one element doesn't mean it's completely part of the genre.
Ok, I oficially declare that I love romanian popcorn, and the groups that have that as a main genre and crazy and fun concept are always the best (Orange Caramel, WJSN Chocome 😩)
timelessness is honestly just something that comes with new wave songs (not just kpop btw ‼️, i love my joy division/new order and talking heads) probably that tinge of nostalgia whenever i listen to them
Thanks to you I discovered a lot of music genres and it helps me to when I need a song for my films, because then I know exactly how to ask. So thank you
amazing variety of songs!! my only complaint is that it would be great to have 2 examples of the same genre. i see you did exactly that in some cases just would be great if that was the same for every genre
The amount of effort you put into this video is amazing!!! Loved it 🎀 Also ca someone suggest more reggaeton songs in k-pop? I’m obsessed w/ Antifragile and rover 😭✊
this probably took lots of work, thank you for the video!!! 💕 would you consider doing a vid with kpop songs that have waltz motives? like taemin's guilty and chuu's my palace? no pressure tho! 💞
Nice work! Really love the video, only one one track i need to point out, there is no way that Exo's mama is melodic metalcore lol its more like Gregorian chant mixed up with war battle type of beat with symphonic rock elements kinda like some first gen H.o.T type of sounds since they are also from SM lol probably from the same producer
I don’t even get how you do this!! I adore this channel so much!! These videos are the absolute best!! Thank you so much for uploading this and for putting in the work to make this!!♥️
The master thread, oh my gosh! Hope you never remove this or something happens to it. This amazing video will be of so much help for me to study music, thank you

Even if you show them this, I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't know what half of these genres mean
bro that one lee junghyun album is responsible for 33% of the genre diversity in kpop
it's crazy how that album is one of the reasons edm was even introduced into kpop and it still has a bunch of genres that no one has touched since

wow, i really wish there was a video like this just for dreamcatcher, they do so many different things
For real, dreamcatcher is so underrated 🥲✨
This is why I love all the NCT units so damn much! It’s like, yeah…there are artists that show up more then once too, but NCT show up more then once…and with genres that are so vastly different from every other measurable scale imaginable. They are so experimental and I ADORE ITTTT!!
I'm just so admirative and proud of humanity when I watch this.
Tysm for this video! Just a couple comments on the afro genres at 0:51 , as music from my people ❤:
- afro trap doesn't really exist as a genre, but afro house does. That said "More than Words" is afro house with trap & afrobeats features, while "eyes roll" is afrobeats with afro house features :)
- The other name you've tried to mention I think is Amapiano.
Afrobeats originates from Nigeria/Ghana and is now adopted as pop music in many countries in Western and Southern africa :)
- "Me myself and i" by Fatou is also an afropop song, with fewer distinction features to be specifically part of afrobeats! :D
- People sometimes don't make the distinction and like to call amapiano as afrobeats since both genres are sometimes mixed, but really the most inclusive term for both genres is "afropop" music. But if you were to make fewer distinctions, it's preferable to call amapiano afrobeats than calling non-amapiano afropop amapiano 😊
Hope it helps, wish you have a lovely day!! Also has your channel been remonetised now??
Thanks for the informations! ❤
just wanted to say that at 2:41 you put The Ring by Ateez but you wrote Twice - Three Times a Day :') (loooooove this type of videos btw
conspiracy theory, ateez are secretly a girlgroup 😅😅😅
😂😭@@pigeondance
Dreamcatcher's intros are on another level. I had never listened to them before and they truly amazed me
This is a lot of work man, thank you for making this.
i need more shoegaze and also songs like growing pain in kpop so badly
Checkout Myself- Monsta X! Shoegaze vibes for sure
i’m loving the amount of f(x). my girls were doing everything. truly music legends
I love them 🩷
2:45 twice?? THAT'S ATEEZ RHEYWYWYW
I feel like it would be nice if just the year was included in the bottom corner, because it can influence how the genre sounds.
fatou (my wife) timestamps 😍
1:26 fatou - me, myself and i
22:51 fatou - the other side
oh but she’s mine actually.
19:06 PANTOMIME AND FAVORITE MENTIONED 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
HEAVY ON THE ARABIC POP ONE (2:16)WHEN I FIRST HEARD THE INTRUMENTAL IT WAS GOING VIRAL ON TT AND I NEVER WOULD'VE GUESSED IT WAS A KPOP SONGS INSTRUMENTAL
God I love how diverse kpop has become over the years yaas!
"kpop sounds all the same"
the kpop in question:
👼 OnlyOneOf timestamps for lyOns 👼
1:40 OnlyOneOf - dOra maar
19:25 OnlyOneOf - skinz
21:55 mill - beat
26:11 OnlyOneOf - libidO
Omg hi fellow lyOn ❤ its rare to see other lyOns in the wild lmao
my ults
bro this is crazy how do you even learn this many genres and how to differentiate them 😭 anyways really cool video!!!
you can learn how to identify genres just look up videos and examples which help. rate your music is a helpful site which you can see the genres of a specific artist, album, song, etc.
@@yayyjpop OOOOO interesting ill definitely check it out, thank you!!! finding out types of genres and subgenres sounds interesting so i might start educating myself on that :3
330+ genres in kpop and red velvet has already done 70+ genres over 300 songs, truly my versatile queens ❤
26:56
I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE LISTENING TO THIS ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE FROM THIS ABSOLUTE AMAZING GROUP
This is what for the past years I didn’t need any music but kpop
I love these videos! That's why I love kpop, its so diverse. When people say k-pop is all the same, nah.
screamed when i saw fate by enhypen I FINALLY KNOW THE GENRE
this is why k-pop is the majority of the music I listen to. There's so many different genres, I've fallen down the genre rabbit hole of k-pop
your dedication is insane
as a semi new kpopper i was taking screenshots constantly bc i knew like none of these songs 💀
I'm obsessed with ur genre videos 😵💫😵💫
Omg I can’t believe you included my boys N.O.M, I’ve never seen them mentioned outside of Kpopalypse
There's so many SM artists in this video, really shows how they're the one of most experimental companies musically.
The amount of work you put into this 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It took me 1 and a half hours to get through this bc I was adding sm to my playlist. Such a great selection💗
i’m such a music nerd so i actually love u for this
WISP MAGNUM OPUS JUST DROPPED
lovely girls young posse
roty - 7:36
posse up ! - 23:27
scars - 31:07
stan yp ! !
LOVELYZ MENTIONED, thank youuuu❤
that's a tremendous amount of work 😮 and very well done at that ! i think the only genre i would have added might be what I'd call cybernetic (like what onewe's giuk does). though some of it might fall into glitch pop or some sort of drill/house/alt-rock subgenre
I loved your 162+ genres video, thank you for this update!!❤️❤️❤️
Really well done. it must have taken ages to make this. I get annoyed recently when I hear comments like how kpop all sounds the same. An objective rebuttal is needed and this video fits the bill. It is as diverse as the global music industry.
We need more songs with Neo Psychedelia genre
the video is so good but there is some inaccuracies, that twice song is definitely not arrocha!! and the tropikillaz remix of better things is actually funk brasileiro in its pure form, tropikillaz is one of the most popular funk producers in brazil. and ringo doesn’t sound like mandelão at all
some recommendations for your research:
arrocha:
- camaro amarelo (munhoz e mariano)
- balada (gusttavo lima)
- porque homem não chora (pablo)
ps: arrocha is known for its accordion
funk brasileiro:
- vai malandra (anitta feat tropikillaz and dj yuri martins)
- vai embrazando (mc zaac)
- se ta solteira (fbc, vhoor, mac julia)
funk ostentação:
- os mlk é liso (mc rodolfinho)
- ostentação fora do normal (mc leo da baixada)
funk mandelão:
- agudo mágico 3 (mc kk, dj tg beats, dj aurélio, mc lipivox)
- montagem silent hills (dj arana)
- automotivo bibi fogosa (bibi babydoll)
hope it helps! thanks a lot for your video, it’s really amazing and informative 🩷
brs no topo 🇧🇷 🇧🇷
@@systemsafadown amooo
Yes I didn't want to say because the video must have been so hard to make, but some examples were not very accurate. I hope people take this video with a grain of salt. Also, sometimes just a beat or one element doesn't mean it's completely part of the genre.
@@dwublast btw também tem batucada ai de genero brasileiro e rum pum pum pum sendo batucada tá bem errado, baiana falando
OMG Ty this will help me discover new genres and songs!❤❤
THE RING BY ATEEZ IS MY FAV SONG EVA
3:11 I used to be obsessed with Some Love, I thought the genre was something like "Zouk"
you made me miss f(x) again ;-; queens of every electronic genre on the face of earth
Why did I cry from the transition of 14:41 to 14:46 😭😭😭
Ok, I oficially declare that I love romanian popcorn, and the groups that have that as a main genre and crazy and fun concept are always the best (Orange Caramel, WJSN Chocome 😩)
27:57 - 28:01 timeless song next to timeless song 💕
timelessness is honestly just something that comes with new wave songs (not just kpop btw ‼️, i love my joy division/new order and talking heads) probably that tinge of nostalgia whenever i listen to them
@@oof2104 exactly !!
Thanks to you I discovered a lot of music genres and it helps me to when I need a song for my films, because then I know exactly how to ask. So thank you
THANKS, this makes me so happy!! I love to know the names of the genres I usually enjoy and I didn't know they existed. tysm for the hard work wisp 💜
Отдельное спасибо за shh after school в самом начале)) Очень люблю этот релиз, жаль что куб забил на группу
made me realize how little kpop i REALLY know
amazing variety of songs!! my only complaint is that it would be great to have 2 examples of the same genre. i see you did exactly that in some cases just would be great if that was the same for every genre
this is what i show people when they say my music taste is too confined
The amount of effort you put into this video is amazing!!! Loved it 🎀 Also ca someone suggest more reggaeton songs in k-pop? I’m obsessed w/ Antifragile and rover 😭✊

❤❤❤
I've been waiting for the genre videos you make, and I'll see you soon~.
this probably took lots of work, thank you for the video!!! 💕 would you consider doing a vid with kpop songs that have waltz motives? like taemin's guilty and chuu's my palace? no pressure tho! 💞
aaaah I second this!!
so many great songs!! thanks for all the recommendations
I love this channel‼️
the song forever by babymonster, in the b-a-e-m-o-n part is very satisfying!
I LOVE YOU OMG I WATCHED YOUR FIRST ONE OF LIKE 160+ OR SMTH AMD ITS MY FAVOURITE VIDEO IN EXISYENCE
