I really don't know much about music so I have a hard time distinguishing genres like breakcore, dnb, uk garage, baltimore club, jersey club, they all just sound similar to my ear 😭😭 and i think this explanation helps see their differences well!
bro ur knowledge and taste are so...well rounded for the lack of a better word. ur so cool !! i just wish i could listen to a song and pin it to a specific genre, bc sometimes i would be listening to some good ass music, but no algorithm can provide me with similar sounding songs 😭
Me encantaría que también pudieras mostrar el "Channel rack" para mostrar los patrones de los ritmos de cada genero, se que es tedioso, pero creo que aportaría aún más información para poder identificar cada sonido de cada genero musical.
I really like your videos so far! I always forget to subscribe, so I will now. As a fellow kpop fan and music major who’s into music production your channel is amazing! Very much a breath of fresh air
thank you so much for these videos, they really help me understand music (not just k-pop but all these genres) so well. ALSO I LOVE ALL THE NCT FEATURES!!!!
I guess you could kind of build a dembow from the 3vs2 that you comment, but the spirit of it is in the syncopation of the upbeat rather than the polyrithm (which isn't always present either)
Ranking these genres based on the number of songs you displayed I would play : 5. uk garage (1/7) & Jersey club (1/6) & Drill (1/7) 4. Baltimore club (2/7) 3. Hip Hop Soul (3/7) & Breakbeat (3/7) 2. Boom bap (3/6) & Drum n' bass (4/7) 1. New Jack Swing (5/7) & Reggaeton (4/6) & Dance Hall (3/5) & Afrobeats (5/7) & Trap (4/6) & trap soul (4/6)
2-Step is actually a part of UK Garage but UK Garage as a whole style can also include some electronic or house rhythms (for example, SHINee's View is UK Garage and Future House, but not just 2-Step)
2-Step Is a part of uk garage,2-Step doesnt follow the 4 on the floor rythm that garage house or even house has but it is influenced from it, 2step is more unpredictable with the grooves,UK Garage Is More Shuffled With Drum patterns, and usually has funky like grooves and basslines
WISP UPLOADED WHO ELSE CHEERED

sorry to bother but can we still request songs for genre recognition? /gq
as a jamaican all the songs listed as dancehall don’t sound like dancehall to me 😭 we lost the summer and one day at a time feels more dancehall to me

omg thank you for this distinction....also added most of these songs to my playlist cuz they all bops wth
We need more of breakbeats examples! Also you mentioned One in a billion, loved that song recently!
Yeah I have a hard time drawing the line between that and d&b
Main difference is that breakbeat is slower and DnB is faster.
XIKERS MENTIONED ‼️‼️
we need more drill in kpop🛐
I agree

3:09 bro This transition🔥🔥 I understand why i easily fall in with unormal:))))
you can't discuss New Jack Swing in K-Pop if you're going to leave out the early VERIVERY releases!
WISP UPLOAD YESSSS

before i press play on the video I already love it
un-normal by queenz eye mention!!! signs by iiso mention!!!!
love this video! i’d recommend H1-KEY’s ‘time to shine’ as another girl group doing new jack swing
idk if you are a fan of her, but I feel like you would do a really good job on a video about SOPHIE's impact on kpop and kpops use of bubblegum bass.
Thank you so much for your work ! It's really helpful 🙏
The way I knew in less than one second in 1:08 that it would play From Now
Amazing video. I loved 🥰
I really like this channel ❤❤
thank you chicago !
Great video

Wouldn't we lost the summer be dancehall? And also wouldn't Tinnitus fit in that section
The moment I read hip hop soul I screamed SUGARCOAT
So all I like was boom bap and not the actual groups got it
can you please tell me genres of Han's songs? (skz)
- 13
- 1,2,3,4,5
- respirator
- maybe
is' bappi deep house sound?
What’s the difference between a regular UK garage beat and a 2-step garage beat? I can’t tell the difference 😭
