  • Today, I'm trying out a light pad/light table device I found on Amazon, to see if it's powerful enough to let me trace through really thick watercolor paper (card stock). I used an adorable line drawing from / @dianeantonestudio as my original that I was copying, and other than starting out with the wrong pen, I think the copy turned out pretty great. In the next video, I'll try painting the art with some new paints and pencils.

You brighten my day with every video. And because of you I have been branching out trying new things for my tumblers. Both your channels are such an inspiration to just go for it. If it works it works. If it doesn't, who gives a crap. Life is more fun now. Thank you

Thanks for the video. I think it would be useful for me to use while weeding. It looked like the light source was pretty even all over, so you could move the image you are going to copy farther over to the right and maybe it wouldn't turn off as much if you bump it. Good luck!

Great point! I will probably do that next time, especially if I keep accidentally setting the switch off like this time. Thank you!! 😊

Try turning the light pad upside down. clip the artwork at the bottom.

Excellent, thank you!!! I confess to being used to using a stand-up, stationary light table (vs a tablet) from back in my typesetting days. It couldn't be moved because it was a big, honkin' piece of furniture, and because of that, being able to turn the whole thing around didn't even occur to me. Clearly I need to get out of the stone age 😅

I have two sizes of light pads for my diamond art. My big one has on off on cord instead of board. So much nicer.

Oh, yes, having the switch on the cord would make so much more sense for my particular dilemma! Thanks, Gail!!

Okay I know this will sound insane but I hate gamsol and every other spirit type blender but when I was doing my house mouse stamps and turning them into cards using prisma color colored pencils the absolute best blending tool I ever used was a GOO GONE pen! I had several in rotation I cut the chisel tips to different sizes on and man what a dream.... and they clean right off plotted on a paper towel in between colors or blends. I'd totally recommend trying it if you can get your hands on one!
Also curious how it works as a weeding light for vinyl.... can you turn it around so the buttons are on the right?

Oh, the light tablet should be fantastic for weeding (although I haven’t tried that yet). I’m assuming turning the pad upside down will help unless it causes some issue with the usb cord suddenly not reaching far enough, but that’s just a relocation problem I should be able to figure out. I’ll let you know!

@@LuxindasOtherObsessions I just watched a couple of vids on “Momigami”, it’s a “kneaded” paper done with oil until it becomes fabric-like. Pretty interesting!

Turn the light board 180°. The clip to hold the paper is on the bottom and your buttons will be on your right 🤦. I love watching your videos.
