It’s very oddly satisfying to know that I’m not the only one with severe OCD who tries to save every Marine in any Halo game lol. If one dies, restart the checkpoint
Yeah, that obsession led me to an "ARE YOU KIDDING ME" moment. If you save three or more of your marines on "Sierra 117", all of Johnson's marines are dead when you get to him. Why must you do this to me, Bungie?
you can do it alone too. when you go in the door to the barracks and kill the first brute (use a br or ar) stand next to that big pillar and wait. the arbiter goes around the corner himself and kills brutes. unlike you, the arbiter doesn't trigger the script that makes brutes kill the marines. just give it about 30 seconds and you have 4 marines on solo
Is this theoretically possible in single player? Because in single player Arbiter is scripted to get in that pelican too. Is there always going to be enough space for everyone?
Sorry for being late, it is possible. For the second marine you have to headshot the brute with the battle rifle which will make him instantly drop the marine. If he doesn't, then just headshot the brute until he dies. It's best to wait on killing the first brute until you are at an angle where you can see both the first and second marines. then shoot the second brute first, then the first one since the first marine has more time.
People always saying marines are useless. They're so effective with heavy weapons especially on legendary. And halo 3's ai is fucking amazing. Something 343 still cant get down
I think that one marine that was with Johnson in the end is a replacement of the marine that gets thrown to the wall that we can't save in the barracks
Doing this part over and over on legendary is a lot of fun.I optimise the way I attacked and over time. I was able to save all but one of the first groups of marines and all of the second group I think.I like to imagine that my optimised beatdown of the brutes in 20 seconds is how the master chief really fights
The way I was thinking of it was that the 3 marines that Johnson loses are the very same marines that you don't save. So if you save them, Johnson can't because you already did. It's not that Johnson has 3 marines killed.
Save as many marines as possible, give them assault rifles and plasma rifles, and watch them shred the jump pack brutes in the next section. 100% worth doing.
You can get across the big gap at the start of the barracks and go through from the back. It makes this really easy cause no brutes see you or kill the marines until you approach from the right angle.
If u are alone try carrying the turret from where u leave the command center, on top of a catwalk. It can quickly kill all brutes and they will only trigger the killing animation when u see them so no hurries
i remember the marine being chocked to death it took me a solid 1-2 hours of constant save scuming to save him as a kid wish i had that kinda of attention nowadays
I hope the lore states that every marine that can be saved is saved also the 7 is a Easter egg Also I hope the lore ending of crows nest has Johnson with his squad of marine that’s only like that because the pelican can only hold 10 people in game
When you get the start of the barracks you wait and the arbiter will kill all the brutes before they can start to begin their animation to kill the marine
@@keepwatch96 as far as I know, he spawns dead. You can bring johnson to that part of the mission, and prematurely kill the brutes before he gets thrown. Even when all the brutes are dead, he will still die.the trigger for that marine getting tossed is too large to throw a deployable shield in his path anyway.
I bounced a grenade in there before I hit a loading point and killed the brute that killed the first marine and just went thru the mission like normal not knowing the first marine was not supposed to be saved
I’ve found that on normal/heroic, no matter how fast or quick I’d shotgun then melee the brutes, I only got 5 marines, every time I tried. Only skull I have on is rare dialogue
I always used to spend so much time on this level saving every single marine on this mission with my little brother. Should have been an achievement lol
Every time I play this mission I try to save as many people as possible and then leave them all behind immediately by taking the elevator ahead of time
It's clearly stated in the General Heed lore that despawned ai's don't actually disappear, they get teleported to a safe haven away from all possible danger.
i did tis in legendary before i saw tis vid all u need is a plasma pistol and a batle rifle noob combo for the win i save them all for some reason i dont end a mission if i lose a single marine is like a personal record play every halo in legendary with 0 or at last less tan 2 casualtis
What is Johnson followed you and he saved the marines you didn’t then he took a different route back to the pelican. And the marine that was thrown is the marine Johnson saved?????
Elites were strong as the Prophets at one point and they have countless star systems in the Milky Way. You cant take them down. Prophets are nearing extinction so you can wipe them out. Grunts and Engineers were slave species and hated the covenant so they should not be involved. The drones are also strong but not as strong without a hive mind. So you can probs take down the Brutes, the drones and the hunter colonies.
2:45 I actually pushed the marines in the room before the room he is in and they don’t do anything even when I put them in the brutes site the brutes didn’t notice them at all and I think eventually the marines but they’re weapons away
The reason the number of Marines with johnson changes is because the Pelican only carries 10 passengers.
Also because thats the limit of bipeds to appear. Maybe it reduces to not affect limit perfomance or crashes.
@@damianramirez9788 no it is not the limit, way more than 10 are always present
I’m the 118th like
Yes, however it is interesting to think about it from a lore perspective
Him: Can we save them
Me: Can I kill every marine in every Halo Game.
If a marine dies I restart to checkpoint. Can’t help it
Same
How about Floodgate? :D
I have always done the same for the 11 years I have played halo.
I relate to the halo community more than I relate to my family
This is where Halo 4 & 5 are severely lacking
I'd say that the Chief saving the marines and Johnson surviving by the skin of his teeth makes lore sense
Yes
It’s very oddly satisfying to know that I’m not the only one with severe OCD who tries to save every Marine in any Halo game lol. If one dies, restart the checkpoint

If you really had OCD you would understand that restarting the checkpoint an ODD number of times is a NO NO

The brutes will pay for the blood they spilled
It’s too bad it’s not an achievement
Theres an achievement in halo 4 if you save all the marines called "Bros to the close"
And combat evolved too if you’re landing on the beachhead and you accidentally kill everything in sight while simultaneously tanking all the damage
It is an achievement in our hearts

I just did it on solo and didn't have to do all that I just threw two grenades at the second and third and killed the first last since he takes longer
Did it to very hard
Also I did don’t know any of those tricks so I just ran in there
There's another way, but I just don't know how to explain it
helpful!
I did it once in my Halo playing prime by just running in there and shooting. Now I don't think I can do it.

Ok
saving marines is quintessential Halo - I love it
Is this theoretically possible in single player? Because in single player Arbiter is scripted to get in that pelican too. Is there always going to be enough space for everyone?

I've gone into theater mode and he actually just appears out of thin air
Havnt done it in a while, but I vaguely remember the Arbiter having different dialogue if you save them all solo.
he does

I always try to save as many Marines as possible, but on floodgate, I put one out of his misery. I still feel bad
Well yeah I wanted him to help but it was too scared to be able to do anything so I just killed him before the flood could
I always save my marines remember the marines they are bros.
Save as many marines as possible, give them assault rifles and plasma rifles, and watch them shred the jump pack brutes in the next section. 100% worth doing.
I didn’t know there were moral implications in saving marines. I’d say saving the 7 is worth since there will be more saved than lost.
Same shit, different day.
Explore Miranda and Johnson’s gondola from the mission sacred icon on halo 2 and the frigate there to
In solo (Arbiter as AI), he'll sit on another Marine (if all other Marines are saved). That's because Arbiter is scripted to take a seat, open or not.
LMAO
Hahaha wtf.
Insert "I wish Arbiter would sit on me" quote.
One of the hardest challenges: Can you play though all the levels of Halo 2 on legendary..... without ANY DEAD MARINES?
There is some vents you can go through and get to the captured marines and flank the brutes from behind
5:46. The word you are searching for is "nod". It's a "nod" from Bungie... not necessarily an "easter egg" but a nod.

You can save all 3 Marines Solo if you use the Gravity Hammer jump across the lake and back track
Holy crap he did it
At 6:00 a.marine killed a brute with a kick, oorah
So, if you were to save 5 or 6 marines, Johnson might spawn with 2 or 3 marines, bc I think it's about the free seats in the pelican (obviously)
I’d you go to the other side with the acraphobia skull the marines won’t grab a weapon out of thin air
You can actually kill the second two brutes in the back without a spike gernade. A much easier method is use a needler and quickly shoot both Brutes.
You can take those marines and drag them into the bomb area :) then drag them into the elevator
how many can you save before a few of johnson's team get killed?
and if you save 3 or 4, that mean only 1 or 2 of johnson's team die?
