Do not attempt unless you are Gas safe or under the supervision of someone Gas safe. Attempting this without a Gas Safe ID can be dangerous to you and people around you.
This is aimed at people who don't service much, new to this boiler or trainees.

U should tell people about the little crack that can appear on logics when u take the sump cover off on the top right hand side. Easy to miss and its AR

Yep mine had the hairline crack and flooded the whole base of the boiler. Be careful to get the correct part. My engineer came out and fitted one that had the connector on the side rather than below so basically had to snap it off and refit the correct one the following day. It was a pricey lesson learnt.
Excellent service. You doing the way service must be done. I had half a dozen boiler services in my property and the gas engineer max spent 20 minutes. They don't check everything as you do.
They don't even clean/remove limescale build up in the clear filtering box/tube

My boiler is (not by choice) ideal icos. Nothing wrong with Ideals, but the icos /isar boiler is not my favourite.
Gold Gas Videos yes nothing wrong with ideal, the later logics ,mini and independents all proven to be reliable enough
The odd cracked sump and flow turbine but ok in general, my Combi at home is a viessmann by choice

@@Abulsuny if the f2-l2 appears again within weeks , then the heat exchanger is filled with carbon deposit you will bees to flush it with water as seen in the video. But you should change the heat exchanger gasket.
Mine has the same problem. I didn't get time to clean the heat exchanger but i keep cleaning the electrode with sand paper..

Good service, many engineers just clean the condensing and do FGA.
Just has our boiler serviced by heatforce who fitted the boiler 3 years ago and they didnt do half of what you did when they serviced it as i was there the whole time, it has a TF1 Sigma filter should he cleaned this as he didnt do anything we paid a lot for the service and he didnt seem to do much for the ammount we paid
Top job. I've heard the spacing between the two electrodes is about the same size of a pound coin.

@@goldgas1216 you can give the electrodes a good file all around. It should keep on continuity from point to point. I have in the past heated the tips until they're cherry red and straightened them. Yeah spacing is as much as pound coin.

Fantastic boiler to work on.
I use a garden spray bottle with the manometer hose attached to sparay out the heat engine. It's also great for filling up the condense trap before you put the top rubber hose back on. Infact it's great for a multitude of different applications. 😁Always as usual great content pal. 😉

We have this boiler and it has an issue with hot water. The boiler fires up when a hot tap is turned in the bathroom but it will shortly go off again like the boiler does not see a demand for the hot water anymore. However, if we put 2 hot taps on at the same time the boiler will stay firing and give us hot water. As soon as one tap is turned off the water on the remaining hot tap will turn cold. Any ideas? Central heating works fine

We had groaning noise each time boiler fired up, which has now disappeared after engineer from Ideal replaced burner because we weren't getting any hot water.

Every year mate, tbh seals rarely need changing and if they do it's usually the once. You can get the whole boiler apart in 10 mins. Great boiler to work on if I'm honest 👍 and thank you mate, appreciate it

I got a problem with my boiler, when I turn the heating on it leaks and we had no hot water so we had the flue manifold changed which cost us £120🙁 but it is still leaking so we were told to have a new heat exchanger filter which will cost £300-£400 and my boiler is only 3 yrs old 😭😭now we can’t turn the heating on because of the leak

Great lesson to stay away from fitting Logics
Logics are brilliant and easy to service and fix. They are pretty reliable and they've sold nearly 4 million. I've had a heat only 18 for six years, no problems. I used to fit them before I retired. None of mine needed sumps though I have fitted sumps to early logics. I hardly had any warranty calls on them. Customers like them, job done.

Answer to an Ideal boiler...scrap it and fit a Viessmann.
Design fault in heat exchanger...mine lasted 2 years from new.
Replacement warranty one year not ten.
Ideal will not guarantee their boilers for ten years unless it was fitted from new with their own brand filter.
Avoid.
That's nonsense. I've had two warranty calls on the Logics I fitted. The rest have been fine and the first one I fitted was ten years ago. I have one at home since 2016. I've changed one sump on a very early model somebody else fitted locally. I've seen far more Worcester Bosch heat engine failures. You do know there are over 3 million Logics out there now and for the most part they are pretty bullet proof and dead easy to service properly. Viessman electronics fail in my experience though they have recently dropped the price of control units/ boards.
I had a boiler service all he done was check gases with a meter and cleaned magatec filter. Take 10min £60 what a rip off
