-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.c...
This was clipped from our livestream last month! Had to repost it here! 🔥🙌🏻
Hell yeah Thanks. awesome song choice
That's Who!
Hey guys, when are you going to do some more YES???
I'm so glad you did, since I had to slip out of the livestream early -- such an amazing song choice!
Young Man blues HD, come on!!!
In the history of rock and roll, there are a handful of albums that are so significant, so huge, so perfect that they rise above all others and stand as true landmarks in rock and roll. Who's Next is among the greatest records ever made. The four of them were at their performing best.
Absolutely
Agreed...
Well put Randy... 4 men who master their instrument.... A sum greater than the parts.
Oh yeah. And while there's no Lifehouse rock opera, there sure is operatic power in those incredible songs.
Add Quadrophenia to the list
The Who’s greatest album and one of the best of the era “Who’s Next”!!
Quadrophenia is better IMO but both are obviously Fantastic!
@@John-ux8zj This is my kind of argument where there’s no losers. They don’t have one weak album. Even Odds & Sods is entertaining with its random nature.
I differentiate Who's Next and Quadrophenia because one is a rock opera but in that light but definitely my top two,
@@ChrisHyde537, You are right. I own "Who' Next", "Quadrophenia", "Who's Better Who's Best", "Hooligans", "Tommy" and "Live At Leeds". Everything by The Who is good!
Roger Daltrey on Brexit
Who's Next should be on everyone's desert island list. Every song is a classic!
👍🏻🎸🎸🎸👍🏻
It's a perfect album start to finish
The Who's golden period, Who's Next from 71 and 2 years later Quadrophenia, the band at their peak, Moon and Zeppelin's Bonham were on another planet to other drummers.
Songs that didn't make it onto the original Who's Next album: "Join Together", "Pure and Easy", "Relay", "Let's See Action", "Too Much of Anything", "I Don't Even Know Myself", "Time Is Passing", and several others. Those songs on their own would make a great album, but they were left on the cutting room floor after the Lifehouse/Who's Next sessions.
@@bostonwhofan The album is perfection just the way it is!
“Who’s Next” never leaves my truck 👍🤘
“The Seeker” is an absolute banger by The Who that you’ve yet to discover.
That question that floats around social media about what song you'd choose as your background music for your slow-motion revenge walk surrounded by explosions if you were starring in an action movie -- "The Seeker" is my choice.
@@gregoryeatroff8608 excellent choice! 💥🔥🔥🔥
This song and Rael should have been on the Tommy LP.
@@jeffmartin1026 I can see the argument for this, but "Rael" really doesn't fit in with Tommy, either musically or thematically. It's self-contained.
@@gregoryeatroff8608To me Rael is the story of Capt. Walker going off to war, I think it could have been placed after the overture. A lot of this song/music is used in Sparks and the Underture. So much of Sell Out seems to be Pete working on Tommy - songs/ads about touch, sight, smell and spiritual awakening are all there.
One of their best songs. My god there's Moon's crazy insane drums, Townsend's brilliant guitar and sweet vocals on the bridge, Entwhistle's filthy bass and of course Daltrey's searing and soaring vocals. What the hell else do you want in a song?
Naked women. Well, you asked.
@@ChrisHyde537 lol
@@ChrisHyde537 Playing “hide the marrow”.
Right??
Yeah I was wondering if they knew it was Pete singing the bridge. He could sing high notes real cool. Just not hard like Roger
Who’s Next is in my top 5 rock albums of all time!
Keith Moon played the drums like a lead instrument, not just merely laying down the beat. My favorite Who album.
On Won't Get Fooled Again, at times, all three of them are playing lead, all on top of each other.
I concur on Keith’s drumming, my favorite Who album and a top 10 of all my favorite albums!
He played drums like his kit was a tricked-out go-cart with no brakes hurtling down a steep hill. And the song ends just before impact at the bottom.
@@AndyMatts44 Wow, just wow... so perfectly described; a musical full Moon.
And it made me laugh.
And think of Calvin and Hobbes...
You need to do the entire Who's Next album.
They almost have which is why they probably won’t.
@@ChrisHyde537 True, but eg themes in this that are in other songs knit the whole thing (the dregs of the Lifehouse thing) together
@@sigil5772 We should hound them to screen The Kids Are Alright. It’s one of the most entertaining rockumentaries. Just the opening scene on the Smother’s Brothers would dispel any remaining doubts that Alex had about My Generation.
They've already done about half: Baba, Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again and now Bargain (my favorite). For a deep cut selection, I would suggest the electric version of "Love Ain't For Keeping" off the deluxe album version...total banger!
@@badsherman1193 Gotta do The Song Is Over and Pure And Easy from the expanded album. Maybe Water, too.
While you’re having a go at this album check out “Going Mobile.” It was recorded live in the studio… no over dubs. Moon’s drumming on this track was fabulous.
The whole album was recorded live in studio. Going Mobile does have a few over dubs (a little bit of synth) but the rest of it is one take. Amazing.
Could not agree more. My favorite track on an album of all killer, no filler
@@mikethemotormouth me too
one of many best songs on the album. beep beep
There's a video on youtube of "Going Mobile" with Keith Moon isolated drums. It is one of Keith's greatest performances in the recording studio!
Hey, Freedom Shack! This was an unexpected Tuesday treat...can’t go wrong with The Who. Great song. Thanks!
Time once again to ask you guys to check out "I Can See For Miles"; it's marks The Who's turning point from Mod to Epic.
The song that inspired McCartney to write Helter Skelter.
@@loosilu Wow...I didn't know that. Thanks Lucie.🌞
@@loosilu I did _not_ know that. Thanks!
I've been suggesting that song. "I Can See for Miles" is their first really great song.
@@steveh46 I really like Happy Jack too.
At this point I'm genuinely stunned you haven't just done all of Who's Next
The phrasing in the vocals and instrumentals is so visceral. It sounds like life feels.
Exactly
"The Song Is Over" should be next! It's one their best songs in my opinion! The drumming is absolutely amazing.
I can't believe they left off Pure and Easy.
I agree 100%.
The best Who song not on Quadrophenia.
@@loosilu And "Join Together". It too did not make the original Who's Next album.
I'd rank The Who in the top three greatest rock bands of all time and rank Roger Daltrey the best front man ever.
Who are the other two?
That's his middle name Keith Those Drums Are Nuts Moon!
It's a perfect tune. As close to perfection as THE WHO
got at the time. They were at the peak of their powers.
This is my obligatory request for Young Man Blues from The Who’s “Live at Leeds” album, which is probably the greatest live album ever put to vinyl.
yes agree there...
Entwistle at his finest with YMB. I would even suggest the My Generation Medley, which IMO, is the greatest live Medley ever laid down on track...it's long, at just over 14 minutes, but what a sonic powerhouse, Entwistle goes completely ham on it!
I'VE BEEN BEGGING THEM FOR EVER! DUMB KIDS, LOL
They need to watch the video from Isle of Wight concert 1970 🔥
Errr...Made in Japan called...
Of course, everyone is great in The Who but even with the genius of Pete Townsends songwriting, Rogers great voice and Entwistle's remarkable bass playing... Keith Moon stands out as providing something definitive and indispensable to the sound of The Who. Maybe it's just my own prejudice, but I believe Keith Moon is the most instantly identifiable drummer in rock and roll. People say John Bonham was the best, or Ginger Baker or Neil Peart... and they were all great but Moonie (to me) is definitive
Many people say Neil Peart is your favorite drummer's favorite drummer. Neil Peart's favorite drummer was Keith Moon!
Roger Daltrey had the best belt in rock, period.
Yes, it kept his pants up and everything 😁
I'm glad Rog is still kicking but you made me miss Chris Cornell R.I.P. all over again.
@@alrivers2297
It was a multi-faceted belt.🤭
Or Robert Plant…
Agreed,,,,👍💥👍💥👍💥👍😎
"These drums are nuts" said everyone who ever listened to any Who song with Keith Moon on the kit.
The Who never disappoints! When you reacted to Won't Get Fooled Again you were still rating 1 to 10 and I said the entire album Who's Next is pretty much a 10. Is easily one of the top 10 albums of all time.
100% agree. Maybe even top 5.
@@boscokid9524 I wouldn't argue that. I personally might say it's the best, but since it's all subject saying top 10 is hard to argue.
That album is by far “the best I ever had”
I think it is #1 for me. Not sure of any album that touches it. #2 is probably Beatles’ Revolver.
Keith "The Loon" Moon... Right up there with John Bonham and Neil Peart ♡
"Slip Kid" is a highlight of the Who by Numbers album (1975), which is much underrated. Like "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Who Are You," it dishes some heavy sauce in the middle part.
Slip kid is one of my favorites. You are right...it's a very underrated album.
Great Song
Gotta hear Slip Kid! (No easy way to be free)!
The Who is my husband's jam I'm just here supporting the channel, love you guys @ Andy & Alex 💕
To truly experience The Who you must listen to them on a roadtrip driving about 90 miles per hour with all the windows down singing at the top of your lungs.
I drunk myself blind to the sounds of old T Rex, and Who’s Next.
Should have laid off the wood alcohol. That’ll cause it you know. 😂
You better, you better you bet
I love that line!! you better you bet is one of my faves!!
Great choice! As a 62 year old woman, I grew up on this music 🎶 the very powerful yet romantic lyrics are timeless indeed!
😽🎶
Bought this, Aqualung and Master of Reality in a trip to the record store in 1971 as a jr. in high school. Still listen to them all.
The quantity of great rock music produced at that time is simply staggering. Music aficionados can/will/do argue which year was THE best, but there's no doubt 1971 was one of the verrrrry top ones.
Ha! That's a good day! On the other hand, back then, that shit was happening every week. We never knew how good we had it! Even when we DID know, we didn't REALLY know.
@@TTM9691, very true! It was painful to listen to it all degrade.
That's one hell of a trifecta.
Have to say I was a "The Who" fanatic as a teen, and so glad I had the opportunity to see them in 1980 on tour even though they had lost their driving force behind the drums. Still get goosebumps every time I hear Roger belt out Love Reign O'er Me from Quadrophenia, one of my fav's.
No one ever comments on that album cover. I think it's an A+.
100% agree. Four dudes pissing on a concrete pillar/slag in the middle of nowhere. Subtle and subversive.....
I did!
It was an icon of the seventies
@@scottschumacher7926 - Also, they've all pissed on it, which begs the question - "Who's Next?"
Just reminds me what a sad day it was, when we lost Keith Moon. He drove that song. Craziest guy in Rock-n-Roll. He was awesome to see in person. My first concert.
Love this album. Still have it. CD too.
Drove Mom crazy in ‘71 playing it all the time. She finally said “enough”.
I moved out shortly after that. Only 17.
Still listening to it!
'My Wife' is an absolute gem by The Who and then there is the Rock N Roll Circus version of 'A Quick One'. Check out both!
Been begging for this forever.
This song in particular really reminds of the quote I once read, (paraphrasing) "The Who is the only band to have a lead guitar, lead bass, and lead drums."
One of my favorite The Who songs!
This is one of those rare albums with no filler. Every song on it is great.
Dangit boys, now I have to go back one more time and watch Andy get blown away coming out of the keyboard interlude on Won’t Get Fooled Again. You guys were made for Who reactions.
there are some bands that simply did not know how to write a bad song. The Who being one of them.
Amen
Prolific Pete. Pure genius.
Ahem most of Who are you and It’s hard
Roger Daltrey on Brexit
@@patches1589 I don’t care
From "Who's Next", imo one of the top 10 albums in rock history. An iconic classic. Y'all need this!
Ah, yes, I remember this from the livestream. Super cool for you all to post it on UA-cam. You treat your fans so fine! 😻
Niice! I think everyone wishes someone would pour their heart out to them in song, like this... omg! This is the second time around, but love spending a Tuesday with you! Have a great day fellas! Till next time.! 🤗🌺✌️
Andy is DEAD wrong about "the best I ever had .... "
Something tells me it's not the song....I think he's having a bad day . Or....chickie baby is having a bad day . Either way....it will pass brother .
Right to business... since it was clipped... actually very refreshing. Killer tune, always loved The Who.
"It doesn't mean I can't not enjoy it when it isn't that." I think Andy just managed a quadruple negative.
9.8 👏👏👏👏👏👏
doesn't, can't, not, isn't...Yep, nailed it.
FOUR negatives in ONE statement.
I'd call that a grammatical bargain...
Truck commercial? That's Bob Seger's "Like A Rock". Chevrolet used that song for a decade. 😀
The song has a timeless sound. It's hard to believe it's over 50 years old.
Alex's big smile while listening to this song is priceless, but nothing beats hearing him squeal with delight @ 1:47.
Was at the Who's Next concert in L. A., 1971. Great concert. Also for the Quadraphenia Tour 1973. A band just starting to make it big opened for them, Lynyrd Skynyrd. They did a song I had never heard before called Free Bird. I was blown away.
Wasn't that the Cow Palace show where Moon passed out?
@@loosilu No, this was at the L.A. Forum. I think what you're talking about is the first night of the Quadrophenia tour in San Francisco when they had a lot of problems. L.A. was their next show and they had all the wrinkles ironed out. They had huge amps all around the top of the arena.
Nobody fills like Keith. After all these years, and as a drummer myself, I am amazed.
Oh yeah! Thank you for sharing this gem. Another goodie from The Who which would be cool to check out is The Seeker. It's unforgettable and Keith just nailed it on those drums! ☮️
So you've hit this, "Baba O'Riley," "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Behind Blue Eyes"... might as well finish out the other half of the album. (I think "The Song Is Over" is the best of the lot, but it's by no means an easy decision.)
You should do their song "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere".
I still remember back in '79; when they did a concert in Cincinnati, OH and the Who was doing their warm up and the crowd thought the concert started and trampled and killed 11 people trying to get in. The whole Band was devastated.
That was the end of festival seating forever.
The were not doing a sound check.
@@JimMalmPHOTO I had a subscription to the Rolling Stone and they reported that The Who started their sound check at 6:30 and the doors (of which there weren't enough) weren't scheduled to open until 7:00 when the crowd demanded to be let in. The people in the front were probably already dead by then from suffocating by being packed in so tight. Then trampled.
@@JimMalmPHOTO I was only going by my recollection at the time and maybe should have directed you to read the Rolling Stone Article. Sorry.
@@aileenturrietta7553 No I am sorry, it appears you are correct.
Agreed. Bargain is perhaps the only true to love song song by men as men. Part pissed off, part ready to die for the object of love. One of my favorites of all time.
Arguably the best classic rock drummer, bass player, guitarist and lead vocalist all in the same band together. Boy watch the 💩 fly now 🤭
I remember back in the early 70's when I was in the Columbia Record Club, I forgot to order an album for that month. so they sent me one I didn't order. I was a little miffed until I listened to it. Who's Next definitely did NOT disappoint and quickly became my favorite. Historic album!
The drum work in Bargain is so impressive. It’s like Moon spend every section with constant fills. Solid Who song
Entwistle's bass work is equally impressive.
"5:15" packs quite a punch. Such a good listen. Later, guys!
The Who...as pure as rock music gets.
Who's Next. Rock Album Standard. Back in the day, everyone had this album. Not a bad tune in the threads. My phonograph needle wore those rings into the Grand Canyon.
I was fortunate enough to see the Who live in San Diego in the mid 70's It is in the top 3 concerts I have ever seen hands down. They were TIGHT, LOUD and unbelievably awesome. At the time their laser light show was perfectly timed to the music and it was beyond anything I had ever seen before. They were so dynamic it was a totally immersive experience. I was literally speechless when the show was over.
Who’s Next was such a great album. What a treasure trove of hits.
The epic 14 minute "My Generation" from Live at Leeds is must-do Who. That this song was performed and recorded live like this is all the proof of God anyone should need.
Imagine sitting in your living room in the 70’s listening to this vinyl album on the stereo for the very first time. Amazing…
Great Reaction! I wanted to share with you my favorite band, The Warning 👍 3 sisters from Monterrey Mexico who rock🤘 - Between the ages of 4 and 6 they were introduced to piano playing classical music at the same time their parents introduce them to classic rock and the girls love the energy and excitement of the genre!
2012 They became a band Dany (Guitar & Main Vocal, 12yrs old), Pau (Drums & Main Vocal, 10yrs old), and Ale (Bass & Chorus, 7yrs old)
2015 First EP - Escape the Mind
2017 1st. Album XXI Century Blood
2018 2nd. Album Queen of the Murder Scene a concept album that tells a story of longing, regret, self-loathing, and follows a woman into full-on psychosis, murder, suicide. Rock Opera! Dull Knives is from this story, amazing Lyrics. 33 original songs independently done thru Patreon and Kickstarter, they have gotten shoutouts on Social Media from bands that have influenced them:
They have been approached by various record labels and reality shows and they have turned them down as they wanted to keep the integrity of their music and image.
Love them because of their work ethic and commitment to their music, they are so humble and great with their fans, their following is worldwide! August 2020 - they signed with Lava /Republic Records a division of Universal Music Group, during negotiations they go complete creative control of their music and the label can only recommend, it's up to the Ladies to approve, unheard of for an independent band being signed by a major label.
They are the only band from Mexico and the only Rock Band from Latin America to ever sign directly with a major U.S. label, these talented singer-songwriters are breaking new ground for women in rock! If I could ask you to react to their latest single CHOKE release just last month really powerful song part of their 3rd. Album, Enjoy!
I know you guys do classic rock but this is the New Wave of Classic Rock. The Warning's music sounds like classic stuff from the '70s but you can never put your finger in what they sound like. They have an extensive knowledge of all music, from piano concertos to grunge, punk, and k-pop, and all of these influences make their way into their music.
This has always been an under rated masterpiece
More Who!!!
Can't go wrong with the Who.
Never knew i was buying such a masterpiece when i bought the "Who's Next" album in the 70's. I mistakenly believed that the music industry was going to keep eclipsing itself through the years. Sadly very little if anything eclipse the Classic Rock era. IMHO.
Kinda took all the great music for granted back then.
@@cesarnarro6013 Sure, and getting old sucks, but I’m sure glad I wasn’t too old to experience the classic rock generation from start to finish. Born in ‘59 I was 6 or 7 when it bloomed out of the “pop” of the day, but I was generally sheltered from it per my age bracket and/or ignored it I’ll I was 13 in ‘72. And by old I mean like my Parents back in the day who said “Turn that sh## down”. Nor was I too young to experience it, and by that I mean only being able to experience it through a historically second hand perspective. Really envy those who hear it first time though, love watching reactions of these and other on YT.
It was a good day. Bonus A+A and I didn't have to use my AK. (ed) Seriously you need to listen to I Can See For Miles. Early Who greatness.
You can never go wrong with The Who.
I am not happy that I am old, but I am totally happy that I grew up with The Who, The Doors, Yes, Rush, The Beatles and Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen, Pink Floyd, Simon and Garfunkel, Jimi Hendrix and others. and the music scene today in 2021 doesn't even come close, I always loved the album cover where they all just pissed on a wall, with the album name being Who's Next, a Total classic of an album, Keith Moon is like a runaway locomotive, and he makes the songs just bounce along like no other drummer, its amazing how busy he can be but still keeping the time and feel bouncing along, but as good as this album is, I still think my favorite Who album is Quadrophenia, and I didn't feel that way the first time I heard it. but now I think its one of the best albums of all time. Alex and Andy, we are always turning you guys on to great old music. why don't you turn us on to something great in 2021 that maybe us older rockers are totally unaware of. and I am still waiting for you guys to check out Aerosmith ( Nobody's Fault )
Roger Daltrey did opera vocal training so he could what ever he wanted with his voice ... Freddie Mercury did the same and it shows in both men's catalogue of some of the most classic hardcore rock ever made.
Interesting piece of info!
That intro fill by Moon is one of my favourite moments in drums.
I gotta say, as a seventy year old semi-pro musician who has heard and played it all, the next best thing to hearing a lot of this classic music again, is watching you guys imbibe some good whiskey and absorb the classic vibes. I flash back to my days as a young rocker, sitting on the floor in my room, headphones on, a four foot stack of vinyl at my feet, a bottle of Boones Farm on my right, and my homemade bong on the left. So good on you two. Keep it up. You fan base is a fuck of a lot wider than you can even imagine. Now, back to my tequila.
Real musicians with real instruments! Kooky!
Thanks for the Tuesday treat. Always in the mood for The Who. Roger Daltry is one of the best frontmen, imo. The whole album "Who's Next" is a masterpiece.
Your “ahh” in that transition was great! First time commenting on your fun page! I was raised on all of the 70’s great music! Big brother blasted this stuff out to the neighborhood!
I have had the pleasure of seeing The Who live 3 times. More please.
Amazing song, amazing album. Now it’s time for y’all to hear them live. Live at Leeds, Woodstock, any and all of it is exceptional.
👌👌👌👌🥰
I remember a friend of mine who was a drummer and a Keith Moon fan used to have his drum kit setup in his room he'd play this song and we'd be sitting right in front of him and at the ending we'd be reaching out and keeping his cymbal stands up because he'd be going off and they'd be falling over. I wonder where Tony is these days. Haven't seen him in 40 years.
Their music and vocals just explode.
ACE, You never are let down by this brilliant trailblaziing band !!!! more please!!
This whole album is amazing, one of the best in rock history.
Ou
An outstanding song by The Who!! Fantastic. The singers voice shines on every song on this album
I saw The Who on their Who’s Next tour in the fall of 71. Freshman year in college. It was a great concert.
"S Tier" album by the Who. One of those vinyls that's always ready to go when the urge strikes!
Love this song! The entire album is a gem.
Saw these guys in November 1982 in Lexington, KY. Awesome band.
OMG! I would relive the 70's just for the music!
This is an album that feels like a Greatest Hits album. Every song is good.
Keith Moons maniacal drumming! The best we ever had!
Andy and Alex live stream drunk karaoke is a must
This song captures the essence of The Who in just about every way.
you should read Pete's autobiography.i knew he was the brains behind the group, but had no idea what he had to deal with.
Another great song from one of the best in Rock ‘n Roll history.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️🎸🎹🎤🎼🥁
Two seminal Rock anthems Baba ORiley and Won’t Get Fooled Again along with the heartbreakingly beautiful Behind Blue Eyes. And Perhaps the best song John Entwhistle ever penned for The Who My Wife it’s almost like Bargain has been lost for over fifty years except to hardcore fans of The Who.
