It does look like a lot of stuff, but career professional artists who've assembled a well stocked studio generally don't need to purchase as much as a beginning artist. Taking good care of your supplies and staying organized like we see here are habits that are acquired along with the skills of the craft. We should all aspire to do what is shown here, even if it's on a small scale at first with one desk, cabinet, or bin!
The best part about your room of hoard is the amount of different crafts you can do. I love that you do everything. For some reason many people find it weird or are surprised, that I enjoy doing so many different crafts. You are the epitome of see, this is perfectly normal 😂🥰 thank you so much for sharing your creativeness with the world!
I agree. Lindsay is a true artist and crafts person and does many things well. I think of a crafts person as someone who has expertise. What a lot of people call "crafting," i.e. being into the latest craze for a short period of time, isn't really what I think of as craft.
Baaaahhh I have NEVER been this early to one of your videos so my comments get lost in the sea of comments! But now that I’m here, I have nothing to say 🙈 I guess I’ll just say I’m a paper crafter & use to be known in the beading community.. I use to watch your card making videos YEARS ago & but got into colouring & painting during the pandemic & found you again 💜 I have not been well in the past year… your videos help to cheer me up & inspire me to use my own hoard of supplies 😋 your beautiful face & bubbly personality are amazingly addictive! Here’s wishing you & your family the best 2023 that anyone could have! Biggest hugs & TFS girly girl 🥰🦋🎨💘🍭
I love my hoard! All of it sparks joy… the more colors I can see at the same time the better. Sometimes I just want to throw myself into my hoard and roll around like a happy puppy. 😄
"I kept it because...I'm a hoarder." 😂 Nah...you're just an artist and a teacher! This was awesome and I'm totally looking forward to part two of the other room! 🙌 Thank you for sharing with all of us 😊❤️
Just finished watching this, 1:23 am, really enjoyed seeing all this and cant wait for the next one! Love your channel, you've taught me so much...thanks for all you do.
Oh, Lindsay! Your "Room Of Hoard" is amazing! My grandson accused me of being a hoarder. I, too, have a lot of different kinds of craft supplies, and because I thrift shop, I often have more than I need of some things. But I don't teach classes, so don't need duplicate sets of the basics, thank goodness! I'm getting ready for a move, where my craft room will actually be smaller, but I'll have a big garage all to myself, so will have room for my workbench, woodworking tools, and utility shelves for my bins and boxes of supplies. Who knows what I will find in the move? It's kind of exciting to think about. Through the years I've made clothes, quilts, dolls, crochet, junk journals, and am now into collage. Fortunately, as far as storage goes, I haven't got into making scrapbooks or cards. So what's taking up space is mostly fabric, paper, & books. You've given me several good ideas for making things work better. Thanks for the fun video.
What a delight seeing your hoard. I love how you recycle all sorts of things for storage purposes. Yes, seeing those lovely immaculate rooms is nice, but your studio just shouts love and constant use, even those items you might not use very often. Thank you for sharing this.
Seriously Lindsay we all need therapy My husband just shakes his head and says more stufffff. But it’s my happy place and I’m sure it’s that way for a lot of us. Your amazing and love all of your videos take care.😊🌸😊
Hullo Lindsay, I am so glad you were brave enough to show us your collection of supplies and some of us need to do better creating easy to store and find out supplies and your very encouraging just by showing us how you do it! I am glad I am not alone in having multiple shelves of paper choices! I can offer some advise on your computer: I have helped several friends with theirs, When a computer no longer starts up and your info is "trapped" inside it. You can open it up and locate the hard drive and remove it! Then you can purchase an external hard drive box depending on the size just hook it up to a new computer and look for your info you may want to rescue (photos and such). You can then send the remaining laptop to your local electronic waste disposal center. You can contact me if you have further questions! I enjoyed this video a lot! Thanks!
These two videos really helped me be okay with just putting stuff away when I've lost interest and bring out whatever is striking my fancy and going with it. I've had a tendency to feel bad about losing interest and feel I have to be using everything all the time or at least fairly frequently. And I have but a small fraction of what you enjoy. Thanks for all you do oftentimes not even knowing all the positive effects you are having on your audience. Oh, and most of the art storage furniture I have in my small apartment I found on the side of the road!
I love your storage space, please dont ever feel bad about it. As an artist and a former art teacher i understand the overabundance of things. Dont ever, esp to your viewers say anything bad about the space. In secret we wish we had all your supplies at hand to use.🤫
Got a quick break. I love the name of your space: room of hoard. It makes sense to make it and post it either way 🤔. I am going to try to watch 2 of your videos, but I might get called back. So let's hope 🥰.
Looking at all your supplies, I have to wonder...why haven't you ever written a book? Something on craft hacks or organization or make your own supplies or ... You have a wealth of knowledge.
I realized why I like your channel so much. It is because we are both neurotic. I watch all of your videos 📹! Thanks 😊 ! My kids call my craft room, my crap room.
Ahhhh as an artist these video fill me with joy!! I wish to have as much art supplies as u do. Its amzing how to hoard things that no longer exists anymore. I hope to become like you one day!! Amazing video keep. Up the work ml!! 🖤🖤
Oooh, I love looking through your stuff. I hope we'll get to see all your watercolors and pencils again soon. I want to know what you have hoarded since the last tours. 😄
Loved it.🎉 . You inspire me to declutter, shop at home first. I want to find places for what I use most. Tyfs. Decluttering is always a work in progress.💞
Love it alll! I also have a room of hoatd/ art studio and I deciided to take a spinning wheel and wrote an art or craft or just a specific supply, like pencils, stamps, ink, clay etc or organise on the different spokes. Then I startef to spin it and I do that craft for 2- 3 hours a day. This forces me to use my supplies and do different crafts. So far I did crochet, made emphemmera and painted my mom's garden gnomes. I'm just glad I haven't landed on organise yet😝
You just never know when a hoard of blind zombies will come for your old glasses! Hiding them in your basement is brilliant! More likely they became zombies by following the trail of blood splats down the basement stairs. They will not fall for that one again! I really got a lot out of this video, some of the storage/org ideas will work well for me. Thank you! I do have some questions though. 1 What's in the coffee cans? 2 Why did you skip over your scan & cut? 3 How do you use coasters to make books? 4 Do you have a video where you use the extra hands tool?
The cans are empty but I will fetch water and store slip in them for pottery. That's my old cricut that I would use with scal software. Cricut deserves no promotion in my opinion 😆! My scan n cut it in my office filming room which I will show next week.
This episode is more than wonderful for me. Thank you very much for this video, Mrs. Lindsay. From it, we learn how to arrange most of the tools, files, papers, and many other things, and some types of shelves and their quality when buying them later.
I absolutely love that your craft basement looks just like my craft basement! Lots of treasured pieces that just work. No pretty IKEA craft room at my house (not that there’s anything wrong with that)!
That sure sounds like Red Green logic where it doesn't have to be handsome as long as it's handy. Loved seeing the room again. The book series with cds I used to make Victorian Valentines one year and just added a flat magnet on the back. I used gold embossing powder to highlight areas and gold paint pen around the edge. Everyone loved them. I like the repurpose of so many of your storage items. To me it's easier to remember where things are if they're in unique containers instead of all the same, but having some uniformity is helpful for breaking up the sight pattern. Looking forward to the next tour. I dream of a dry basement although mine isn't too bad and has the trough. I save styrofoam from packaging to set some things up off the floor. Thanks for all you do.
Such a weird feeling, but....somehow.....after watching this video, I feel like your craft supplies are also mine.....somehow....and it gets me thinking that I do not need any more art supplies.... What have you done to me, Lindsay??!!! LOL!
Thanks for sharing the book recommendations as you were going through your supplies. I ordered several! Always love seeing your room of hoard - it makes me feel normal. I like to craft…and I have a lot of different crafts. My room of hoard is a miniature of yours - it’s my happy place.
Had fun going through your room of hoard with you... YUP! I still need to do some cleaning and organizing. I'll get to it this winter, can't stand the mess anymore after doing all the Christmas projects in December! And I don't think I've dusted since last spring. 😵💫haha Thanks Lindsay.
Thank you for the detailed video tour of the room of Hoard, looking forward to more. I am now going to be on the lookout (Confession: My daughter is the one who is always thrifting,)for a record cabinet. What an excellent storage idea!
I have enjoyed watching as you go through your storage room. I dont have as much stash as you do however a large portion of my holds is fabric . I've got tons of fabric a d about 12 sewing machines. I have a lot of dies that are cartoons and silhouette and back ground large dies. I have lots of dies that are animals. I am a pet groomer.
Wow…bouncy energy today…. 😊🤩 Oh Amazon….the never ending deep well of art supplies and all sorts of stuff that you never knew you needed. 😮 And I made the “mistake” of visiting the Altenew website today. It was my first ever visit! Wow! They have some fabulous stamp sets…really they do. I got out of there with only buying one set that was half off ( I typically only buy deeply discounted crafting supplies.) I am excited to get it. It was $13.50…(and only $3.96 First Class shipping…very reasonable,) more than I usually pay…I’m really cheap. For all of you NYC lovers out there, you may want to check it out. The biggest stamp was of the Brooklyn Bridge and the rest of the set were great greetings and sentiments…like 25 or more of them! I had a nice little trip without doing too much damage. 😊
Lindsay Weirich could you recommend a book on how to mix water colors? I like your room, I would probably just stare in fascination. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your stash. You need lots of supplies with your business, so surely no need to explain! It’s amazing how you remember where everything is, even with so many things labeled! Thank you Lindsay.😉🤗
What a fun video! I love how you have everything arranged and I'm a huge fan of seeing how other artists have navigated sorting and storage situations. If you replaced most of your craft items with leather tools/paints/mallets/etc and photography chemicals and equipment, that's about how my studio is currently (though I've got nothing to compare to your stunning stamp wall). My pride and joy was a DIY Craft/Dream Box made from four shelves that literally fell apart from the weight of my supplies so I had to revamp the entire room. As I'm sure you can relate, it'd be nice to have a warehouse sized room to store all the creative things in!
Loved seeing that I'm not alone! I have been a crafter, miniature dollhouse maker, quilter, crocheter...an all around MAKER. If it catches my eye, I need to try it, buy all the stuff, make for a while and then move on to the next great thing! I have been in the process of doing a big purge of "my room." I have given away and donated more than I kept...that may tell you I had too much! My room is still plenty full and will keep me busy for the rest of my life! I continue to love your videos. I'm working on a simple watercolor horse card for my friend's birthday this morning. Have a great day!
Enjoyed it very much, Lindsay! And thank you so much for keeping the camera still. I have severe motion sickness and really appreciated that I could watch the whole video! Looking forward to the next one.
Whenever you do these kinds of videos, I find myself searching your channel name plus whatever resource you show that intrigues me and coming up with 3 or 4 (or more) project or tutorial videos to watch. I always come away with a few new tips or ideas for using what I already have, so thank you for that!
Yeah, I was really bummed that I wasn't able to get one of those kits you designed for the Craft Society, I guess I thought they'd always be available. Anyway, thanks for sharing your crafty space - you call the room of hoard - I call it a place for everything and everything in it's place. Your the best, you knew what your viewers would want even before you asked them, lol. I pray that you are feeling much more like yourself. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Great tour Lindsay. At least you have a video to refer to in case you forget where you put something. You need lots of supplies for your business so a room of hoard is a necessity. Thanks for book recommendations. Found some used ones an Amazon.
Ok, here’s my last comment…promise….a tip. To get heavier card stock, up to 90lbs or maybe heavier, to go through an inkjet printer….at least my 7 year old Canon Mpix, I lightly….very lightly, use a spray bottle mister to put just the slightest bit of moisture on both sides. Then I roll it up and out several times, then cast a spell over it (kidding) 😆no, then place it in the paper tray all by itself. You have to print one page at a time with no other paper in your tray. The moisture really helps to get those paper fibers squishy and flexible. If you don’t have a water mister bottle handy, you could try breathing heavy….on the paper. 🥴
I haven't been crafting as long as you have however I have be a pet groomer now for almost 48 years. I have my office on my front porch and my seeing room in the attic. My grooming shop and the dogs Kennels . I still don't have 1/2 of what you have
Oh Lindsay! I love you so much! You started my journey! Many moons ago! This year I am going to use what I have! Mixed media has taken me away from my first love of watercolour! BUT I do love my journey! AND if all fails go back to where you started the journey!
I'm not even finished watching this yet, but I just LOVE that record album cabinet that holds your cardstock!! What a way to recycle!! OK... Back to the video, lol 😆
My only art supplies relate to watercolor, and I can't even get those organized! Your supply room is amazing. Oh, and I also love using roadside finds!
So envious of your peg stamps LOL. I like the idea that you stored books with your supplies they go with. I have all of my books on a bookshelf. Thank you for showing us a tour of your supply room.
I love that you always have beaded jewelry on. I always start my day with putting on something I have beaded. I think that's great we have that in common.
It does look like a lot of stuff, but career professional artists who've assembled a well stocked studio generally don't need to purchase as much as a beginning artist. My husband always says (in reference to my guilt over my art supply hoard) "Well, if it's not eating anything don't worry about it" He's a keeper lol.
Every time you show off this room, I feel better about my excessive art supply stash. 😂😂😂

I can’t even explain why I like to watch this, but I do! Your basement looks like an art wonderland! I bet your kids enjoyed growing up with it. 😊
Thank you so much! They did! They had their own art area with supplies too!
Wow, I love your jar of buttons!
34:09 You make me laugh. 🤣 I know it is a little based in truth, but your acceptance of yourself and the delivery of the information is so funny!
Heck, if you can afford it…if you’ve got room for it and it makes you happy, then that’s really all that matters…hoarding or not.😌👍

Maybe I will someday. I did pitch a book likecthat once but the publisher said it "was too broad a subject" and people wouldn't buy it 😆
@@thefrugalcrafter that publisher didn't know about your UA-cam family, did they.
Lindsay starts showing books, and then here I am buying things that Lindsay recommends in the middle of the night
me too! Had to score used copies of the watercolor and the embossing books, if I could, before everyone else snapped them up!
I've actually done the same thing lol
Such fun!

I agree, the wall of wood stamps is a work of art in itself.
Feel so inspired to go play in my own room of hoard :) Yours is a very happy-making space ❤
Inspirational organization! Glorious art and craft supplies! Thank you! This was so much fun!

Awesome!
Omg I have that exact paper cutter that I received years ago from my uncle’s estate and it is tough and I love it! ❤
It's so good!
Great tour Lindsay. At least you have a video to refer to in case you forget where you put something. You need lots of supplies for your business so a room of hoard is a necessity. Thanks for book recommendations. Found some used ones an Amazon.
I am SO JEALOUS of your room of hoard!!! It’s wonderful! I especially like that old record cabinet! So well organized too!
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for sharing! What a joyful place. You can never have too much when it comes to art supplies. 😘
Thanks for the tip!
I have that same P.M. watercolor palette and mines still in the box too!
I haven't been crafting as long as you have however I have be a pet groomer now for almost 48 years. I have my office on my front porch and my seeing room in the attic. My grooming shop and the dogs Kennels . I still don't have 1/2 of what you have
Love your sweet personality!
Oh thank you!
i so relate to the "hoarder" mentality as artists creative people types see art possibilities in everything. i suffer too.
Loved this. I’m going to show this to my husband, who thinks I have way too much stuff. 59:46
Thanks so much!
This is awesome!!! You’re giving me motivation to organize my supplies 😂
I'm so glad!
My only art supplies relate to watercolor, and I can't even get those organized! Your supply room is amazing. Oh, and I also love using roadside finds!
Oh thank you!
I like your blouse. It’s pretty and works well with the necklace and your hair
thanks for the video, you kept me company while cutting card bases for valentines. You also give me ideas of what to do with my own basement space.
I'm so glad!
Love it ❤️
So envious of your peg stamps LOL. I like the idea that you stored books with your supplies they go with. I have all of my books on a bookshelf. Thank you for showing us a tour of your supply room.
Thanks for the journey through your space.
My pleasure!
You have a lot, but it is well organized and I wish I had that much (space too)
Love the jewelry section.I love to bead, thanks for sharing.
I love that you always have beaded jewelry on. I always start my day with putting on something I have beaded. I think that's great we have that in common.
You have a store! Wow. I love all the creative organization!
Ok going to the art supply store today and will not feel guilty!! Thanks for sharing, I love it!
