I wasn't there to see it, but I heard Bob McNamara cried like a little girl when they took him away.

I found the movie very bland; it did not give any new, "untold" information. Read the excellent book "Chappaquiddick Speaks" , by Bill Pinney. This book gives more detail about that night and the ineffective police work which followed.
"We tell the truth, or at least our version of it " - the politician's motto.
    Cover-up was easy for Kennedys.

Wealthy men get away with murder, just ask Mary Jo Kopechne, Natalie Wood or Nicole Brown.

I watched a documentary on it. Natalie Wood likely tried to take the dinghy on her own, fell out, and froze due to hyperthermia.

I didn't like the movie. A lot of this was a cover up and not the true story. They glossed over Mary Jo and made her look like a Saint. No one knows the true story but everyone at that party. No single woman takes a ride with a married man, leave her purse behind and hotel key, to talk politics. They left the party to hook up. She was drunk. She didn't deserve to die in that car. Its sad. So many questions and not enough answers. The movie is available on Netflix

In the 1969-72 period Ted kennedy took the democratic fight to Nixon and Kissinger, there was enough horror and wrong in Vietnam both sides that EMK had a definite cause as post LBJ Nixon and LBJ were developing the McNamara strategy which partly stemmed form Le May and the British strategy which evolved against the Malaysian communists and Indonesia to check them and inflict percentage damage and attrocities ot show we were capable of as much evil and madness as the commies. The strategy combined vicious raids on villages with not only B-52s but relentless naval bombardment which from the heavier cruisers could smash in wide area infratructure within 15 miles of the coast the most powerful US cruisers fNewport News and the BB New Jersey could smash about 20 minutes in a five or six sortie closer to the shore ripping out rail lines, roads, faculties and schools. At that time EMK sounded and looked like Jack.

In 1980 EMK looked to have potential to be a democratic Trump there is relatively little film of him speaking in the hard democratic archie bunkers areas of Penn, Pnnslvania, NJ, NY, Boston, Connecticut , LA and DEnver but there he had tremendous support ti was jsut when the real TEd Kennedy emerged he was a bit too loud male and old school to appeal to the movement and he essdentially disaqualified himself. Whatever limitations he had the confusion over CHapapaquadick when he obviously wasnt in the car. Even before his 1964 air crash accident I doubt even with his awesome strengh he oculd have got out of that tidal grave. But still as Chrsi Hitchins said ultimately he made the right call Hillary was a bit of a flake and fluff and self interested. He and Caroline decleared for Obama.
