You know what I do enjoy about you and your lovely family? You are so normal! I really miss normal, it seems like so little of it to be found that it’s become unique in our society. I’m always so happy to follow along on any of your adventures because of the enthusiasm and wonder you still have for the beauty, both past and present that is out there! Thank you again! 😊

I was a cashier at the Edison hotel in 1978, I'm German and I sware the general manager was admiral Carl Donitz , the bar/lounge was where they filmed the Godfather Lou Cabrazi death scene.
Also went to the metropolitan museum a million times. 13:55

11:11 About 10 to 15 years ago, I really enjoyed touring the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City as well as the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and as an avid collector of African tribal art as well as African art books, I was blown away by Nelson A. Rockefeller's incredible donated collection of African and Oceanic art at the Metropolitan; most of which has been published in plenty of African art books, so I was very familiar with his collection (which inspired my own collection) but to see it all in-person was amazing. :)

11:11 One could spend a few days at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City (much like at the Louvre in Paris) to fully appreciate the vast collections of African art, ancient Egyptian art, ancient Roman art, ancient Greek art, medieval art, Japanese art, works by the Impressionists, various architectural interiors, and even a Japanese-style Art Deco house (or interiors) designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
It's all very impressive and inspirational and yes, overwhelming at times, but in a good way. :)

    Alexander,
I grew up, literally, going to the MMA.
Although I lived down the Jersey Shore ,I was born and had family in the city, so
we visited pretty regularly from the age of 3 or so ,well into my fifties.
MMA is absolutely amazing, you could spent a lifetime there and not see everything.
I remember the Tutankhamen exhibit brought over from Egypt and the Temple of Dandur saved from the flooding by the building of the Aswan Dam.
I am so happy you and the family enjoyed this wonderful place.
    Cheers,
    Rik Spector

I like Impressionism too. There's a dreamy quality to the style with its fuzzy edges and the washed lighting. It's like walking into bright sunlight with a too bright glare. The style captures the strange feeling of a time and place where the specific details are often lost in my brain's recollection of the mundane. It's how I'd want to paint my childhood birthday party. I might remember being there, the excitement, a favorite gift, attending guests, etc, but i can't not remember what shirt i was wearing or the flavor of the cake without a photograph.
i also saw the cool armor exhibits when the collection travelled to the St.Louis Art Museum a year or two ago.
Now I'm rambling. Thanks for sharing the video of your trip to NYC.

That is awesome that you took your kids there. It gives them culture , knowledge of history, gives an idea of how regal and royal people can be, teaches and starts traditions, and teach them to keep learning because you can never know all things why we have holidays the origin of religion, races , and the creeds of people. The science and art of the world .
The museum of science and industry in Chicago is where I went as a kid and it's still one of the most important and memorable meaningful things to happen in my life. After the museum we went to the Shed Aquarium. Even more beautiful because the ocean is not as beautiful anymore. I Don't know if they are still there but I have been to Washington DC to San Diego and Mexico to Chicago. And the Shed aquarium is the most Awesome, Awe inspiring beautiful place I have seen. The enormousness of the place. Old Chicago was a fun little place that's no longer there but I remember that also. Those would be very good videos for you and fun for you and your family while this is available.

Just showed my adult daughter (who is learning French on her phone), she said her most memorable sentence is... Hello, my name is Alice, I am a cat, I own a dog, I like horse, I live in Germany.
Alex, with your 'dad' humour I've come to know you for over the years, I have you saying in my mind.
If we visit Germany, we could look up Alice so that Melissa could ask her about the curry sausages 🌭
(You could always write a song about this concept) 🤞
I love hearing you sing mate 👍Cheers from Australia!

They had a special display of Impressionist artwork though, and it was some of the happiest hours of my life, getting inches away from some of the greatest artworks in the world. Funny to see some bits of aJackson Pollack painting that had fallen off, in another gallery.

It’s a fast paced city. I’m a woodworker and the shop I’ve been working for quite a long time has done a lot of work through out the city. We made new parts for the rebuild of the castle in Central Park and the dairy also in Central Park. We’ve done a lot of work in the apartments of the Dakota where John Lennon lived. Not his apartment but many other apartments over the years. I’m currently working on doors for a residents in the village. So we do a lot of work in the city. I also got to build a door that was in the MET. It was big pocket door for a room from architect Stamford White. Not sure if that display is still there. Enjoy it. It’s neat to visit but I wouldn’t live there. We go up for work sometimes but mostly send it up to our clients.

They are only normal on video.
This video is very good this is almost as good as watching you find treasure. Most video show more of the finding the treasure and if paying the art of the deal is also very important for video to teach proper buying and selling prices . Most videos have the deals in them to show everything is done fairly with today's values and prices. You do have some of the better videos out there . These adventures are cool to me because I am handicapped and can't really go and do these things. Well I can but with alot of extra stuff like special transportation special help to do things so it's fun to see some of the things I wanted as a kid growing up I did a lot of stuff like this and with family it's important. I no longer have family or extended family like the past . It's good to see people who try to make life work. As it should be. I Don't know if you believe in Christian values but I believe that is what the origin of morals comes from. Because the holidays and traditions are all part of it. Look forward to more of your videos. And I hope these comments help. All the shows or channels I watch say it is important if I really like the content. Especially when the last freedom of speech is now UA-cam Facebook and tictoc.
