SBMM and blatant cheating not getting punished, is definitely the reason I stopped playing COD. Occasionally watch you and Westie stream for the vibes.
The majority of players are on console, while the majority of cheaters are on PC. Make console-only crossplay lobbies and eliminate 99.99% of the cheating issue. They won't though, because then the PC players wouldn't have a big enough player pool to fill lobbies at a reasonable pace, and all of the top Warzone streamers are on PC.
people are so naive.. as a software engineer I can tell you that cheating is very easy to solve, especially now with AI if your goal is to do so.. Ricochet's goal is not to stop cheating, it's to be defense against class action lawsuit against Activision. So they can say they are putting effort to prevent it. Activision doesn't want to ban cheaters because they would lose like 30+% players.
They are using AI to monitor. That's why the shadow ban system is broken. AI is available for everybody AI vs AI it well takes longer for Ricochet's to update. Meeting time manpower A cheat provider can just update on a dime. who is also a software engineer. Not just cod suffering with hacks AT&T everybody. Thats what happens when you work with other countries with your/their technology. + The USA crooks themselves.
If 30% of players are cheating (which I'm not disputing), why would Activision wants to keep them when they aren't paying customers? They're 100% more likely to use unlocked tools and NOT pay. Keeping them around on purpose affects the 70% of non-cheating potentially paying customers. What you're saying doesn't add up. In reality, it's much more simple than that and it's just incompetence. Ricochet and not as good or fast as the chest developers
The cheating is happening across the entire gaming industry and it’s killing gaming. Ultimately, the health/survival of COD rests with the community. Does the community care enough about the game to help save it?
@@BozBundalo can you share your numbers please? Cheating is mostly caused by 5% of the overall playerbase. It's simple, Activision will not invest into an actual anti cheat because the playerbase is always the same and they always make money. Enough of the brainrot theories
@@rmnyi the sheer number of people attacking Call of duty is the real problem! As soon as Ricochet rolls out an update it’s circumvented by the hack developers! The problem is PC’s! Pc players should have to download cheat software that scans their system at the kernel level when they download COD full stop!
Not to mention shadow bans. I have been shadowed enough times to lose count. It still seems like mass reporting is a viable option for salty players to get others shadowed. Their current system is incomprehensibly bad.
Key thing is SBMM, their best anticheat is SBMM itself, casual players face cheaters rarely because the cheaters stats get inflated so quickly they end up in higher tier SBMM brackets almost immediately, so for the vast majority of the casual playerbase, while they encounter cheaters, its probably not detrimental enough for activision to take action into improving their anticheat software.
Let us run our lobbies ourselves; that’s the fastest way to fix it. Server List. That's the reason older CoDs plus Battlefield 3 and 4 felt so good. Let players host their servers.
The reporting system is dumb. They need to go the valorant route with the anticheat. Also we need higher tik rate servers for warzone. Also shifty got banned and he is in the CDL.
I don't understand what anticheat analysis. Couldn't AI evaluate the player by movement, gun movement, where they are looking, where the aim snaps to. AI could look at every play and build a ban history...
I remember getting a 14 day offensive chat warning after being reported by someone I have killed a few times (they were saying in the chat they are reporting me - although I've had maybe 1.1 K/D in that match and the kills I scored were average at best). I didn't even have my mic plugged in, and I didn't touch the text chat all evening. Ricochet couldn't be bothered to even do a simple check if I had used the in-game feature that I was being reported for. Ricochet is nothing more but a failed marketing stunt.
Definitely agree that this problem was marketing and hype driven, but I doubt that the anti-cheat was tuned to get high skill players out, but that they did crank up skill suspicion and err on "anti-cheat too strong" versus "game that isn't out is already riddled with cheaters roaming free" which their current version of Ricochet would allow.
Great Vid!! I’m not gonna lie I have an old account that was permanently banned for cheating back in the Verdansk days (I know I was scum). I was fed up with cheaters back then and thought I would give it a go. Worst thing I done because I lost the everything on that account. Created another account and never cheated since. Accidentally went to log into the banned account today as I didn’t change user on my pc. Guess what, it’s no longer banned. This is worrying
I got my account that dated back to 2018 perma-banned because I wanted to change my in-game name for the upcoming BO6 Beta (which I pre-ordered the vault edition on that account). I used the in-game name change system in CoD and changed my name to an 80s movie reference (no, nothing offensive). Immediately after, I could not join a match. Matchmaking would shoot to 200ms and stay there... Tried to log in the next day to find my account was banned due to "file manipulation". I appealed and they claimed the ban was justified and deleted the account. Lost years of unlocks, skins, and content because the anti-cheat system thinks CoD's own, built-in name change system is a cheat... While all the actual cheaters are having a god damn field day with zero consequences. Such a complete and total piece of trash system...
That would be hilarious. They made a hyper sweaty game with hyper sweaty movement and hyper sweaty SBMM and thwy funny want players to come across hyper sweats
Ricochet isnt a real anti-cheat, its 100% a automated software tool that scans players stats when they have been reported and auto bans them. Every other anticheat has to be installed before you can play.
The whole AWL (Australian wz league) collapsed from player retention and we also had a few cheaters competing. I haven't played the game since January, luckily I've remained friends with some of the guys but most of us have quit gaming in general.

It blows my mind that the cod community have been talking about SBMM for years and they still haven't got rid of it.
"They know better" than players...tirsk😂@@Yalovetoseeit_

This gameplay hurts. SBMM at work here. Get a Kill, Spawn, Die, Repeat.
I was just thinking of this. The SBMM was broken as hell during the BETA😭
Fix the anticheat and servers. Could care less about your omni movement and verdansk. Make the game playable.

Ricochet is nothing more than a glorified player based reporting system. Change my mind.
Heres to BF having a decent BR and cod can actually feel the need to make a decent game

The majority of players are on console, so there are not that many players affected from this cheater problem that this can kill cod!

Cheating is what made me stop playing COD. Remove cross play with PC, it will eliminate majority of the cheaters!
It will be solved for a while, then the cheat development will get shifted to consoles and the cycle starts again.
Magnetic Aim Assist is the most common cheta and it is legal.

Bring back Vanguard anticheat. Tell Microsoft to stop charging $1 for a new account to allow hackers back in.
