Francesco Conti (Italian drifter and 2013 winner of the King of Europe Drift Pro Series) is preparing his new drifting toy. Next week I recorded him making the first shakedown with a Nissan 200SX S13 powered by a Nissan VR38DETT engine. For this test the engine was making around 650 bhp with a turbo pressure of 0.9 bar. But this is just a sort of test mule car. The final car will be able to reach the insane 1000 bhp mark.

its insane cause he hardky has to give it throttle when hes coming into the corners the engine its self is already putting enough power on the wheels great build this is one of the first swaps of the VR38DETT ive seen so far

The VR38 Motor just sounds out of this world! You wouldnt even think it was a V Type Engine from the sound of it. This Motor,Car combo is Awsome as well! Imagine if this was set up to race... Circuit or even Drag, You can tell that the 200SX is so lite because of how fast the beautiful VR38 gets it up to speed!. Just a really awsome Combo...forreal! !

Quote - The VR38DETT sports 24 valves controlled by dual overhead camshafts (the total 4 cams for the both overheads) with variable valve timing (intake only). The block is cast aluminum with 0.15 mm (0.006 in) plasma-sprayed cylinder liner bores. that car has to have special tie-rods. Even with the tie-rods, how is the car able to turn the wheels that far out when it does a reverse entry? I seen Mad Mike's RX-7 do the most insane reverse entry and I've never seen a cars wheels turn that far. This car is the same way but not as extreme as his formula d RX-7. How would that even work? the tire rods let the hub turn to such a degree. Do they use a lot of toe in with longer tie rods?

adrian Ha solamente messo il motore della nissan gt-r su una nissan 200sx s13 . Esiste davvero l's13, non è un telaio artigianale :D

Are those straight cut gears that make the transmission sounds like that? Or is it a high performance input shaft bearing or something like that? My 97 Honda civic lx sedan d16y8 transmission made that sound intermittently when the input shaft bearing was starting to go

***** Dont know, but most race cars do have straightcut gear in order to old the power from the engine for long periods of time. I bet thats whats in that car
Don't know about the gears, but this is definitely a sequential transmission. The way he shifts is too fast to be a dog or "usual" gearbox.
