  • Every year the Casas Corralones in Málaga open their doors to show off their famous Andalusian patios. The Casas Corralones are traditional houses in Malaga with a shared patio, a fountain and marvelous decorations on the walls. We didn't know that you were able to visit them until we moved to Malaga. Walking around our neighborhood, we saw a patio and we decided to investigate. What a surprise! We discovered that they were celebrating a festival where they open their houses to public and share their culture and traditions.
During one week, at least 40 houses celebrate with flamenco, tapas, culture and different activities the "Popular Week of Casas Corralones", a way of offering a piece of this old tradition to the malagueños and tourists alike. We have visited almost all of them, we have tried the tapas (all of them made with the traditional recipes handed down over generations) and have enjoyed beautiful afternoons of flamenco and dance.
Don´t miss this event, and if you are in Malaga, try to get into one of these house. The neighbors will most likely welcome you, as they are proud of these beautiful patios! You can find more information on our website elboqueronviajero.com/en/spain....
