Chevy Trailblazer actuator replacement free fix

- Passenger side actuator replacement a tip to fixing it for free. If you have cold and hot air blowing and you can't get the hot air to stop one of your actuators are broke stuck open or stuck closed and this case I'm receiving air on my driver side but hot air all on the passenger side into the rear and I found out it's the passenger side actuator behind next to the glove box remove the glove box and you have to do a little bit of working bending the metal to get out them two screws for this possible.

I can't hear what you're saying over the music. I don't see the point of music on a tutorial video
I have to replace 3 of my 5 actuators due to broken gears in an 02 envoy. Had to remove the entire dash, center console, steering wheel and steel dash sub frame. I am making sure every one of them works before I put it back together. 5+ hour job. I am going to the junk yard to pull good main gear from similar actuators to fix them all before putting back together. What a major pain in the keester! Once you get the dash board and sub frame removed you have full access to everything. Pain in the butt yet I can easily access all 5 actuators now. 3 on the drivers side and 2 on the passenger side.

Ya I know my fault i just put that video up real quick to help any one because thats such a common problem.
It would be really helpful if the music was not playing in the background while you're trying to explain what you're doing.

@@ScantlessBeatz Whoever approved the placement of that support brace should be fired immediately. It was such a PITA to bend. I came close to almost cutting it instead lol.

My 04 Chevy trailblazer only has heat on the driver side. The passenger side blows cold air. If I replace this will that fix the problem.

Lol sorry brother I made this one day outside working on the truck from my cell phone & never audio checked the video. I never thought in a million years this video would get over 20k views.
Same problem with my 03 trailblazer what a piss pour design from Chevy LKQ had 6 in the junkyard and of course all of them were miss the part go figure and also the blower motor resistor is another joke I tell everyone it's a love hate relationship with this suv but seriously this is my last Chevy I will own btw wait till the ball joints fail and the rack and pinion I replaced the rack three times definitely get the rack from the dealership you will thank me in the long run I also replace tie rod ends and two CV Axel's I have 160,000 miles and over 3k in repairs ouch !!!!
Im right there with you since this video I replaced balljoints,tierod ends everyrhing thing else is solid on this truck was super clean when i got it I did have to rebuild the engine but I force drove it after my oil pressure dropped I locked it up. But now all n all I have a solid truck.Love this truck I will keep it for a long time.

It opens & closes the door going to your engine letting the heat flow in or out to all vents so basically in the winter time if I need heat then I would open it up

Thats funny you say the two under my driver side dash I was just messing with 2days ago cus they are broke also. I plugged them in to try to get air flowing. These trucks have around 4 or 6 total.

Bro. Couldn't you just use a 1/4" swivel to get the bolt? That's what I did with my Silverado HVAC motor replacement
No because the bolt is right by the metal frame I have an 05 trailblazer same problem. I'm thinking about just cutting a small section out.
I want to watch this but the music is annoying so I'll just figure it out on my own

They open & close the vents to allow air thu cold air or air from your engine bay. When you push the button to put air on your feet there is an actuator that directs the air that way those Trailblazers have 5 actuators it's ridiculous

@@kingnasty5381 Bro honestly not sure mine open its super hot closed i got cooler air but also i have 2 other actu broke. I just had my truck over heating & replaced the thermostat $25-29 & water pump $65 ac delco they do have a $44 water pump. I still have not replaced my 3 broken actuators & i get air conditioning comes out one passenger vent when i turn on.
This shyt is annoying.. I'll give it 1 more shot they said disconnect battery b4 replacement to relearn.. also ? If something is stuck inside blend vents stopping the white flap where u put gear from going all the way left or towards u.. mine goes square or parallel to the ground for what I guess is full hot?? Sounds right?
@@kingnasty5381 Im not sure I still have not finished replacing them all these years cus 2 I could not even get out so i just unplugged em. Now i can't control witch way the air blows. I think next year I will fix them all I had a few major parts replacement this year most recent thermostat, water pump, power steering lines high & low pressure & all new suspension front and rear. Oh ya O ring gasket for exhaust.

if this is a free fix, by the looks of it i would rather scrap the damn vehicle that to strip down the whole dash..wow..burn the damn thing or pay a shop to do it.
I know right that's the point of the video was to show how difficult it is to access that actuator. I found out when i tried to pull one from the junk yard & learned how hard it was so did a how to.

Thanks for the video. My 04 Trailblazer has a similar problem. Not sure it’s worth the time though.
