Your playing makes this guitar even better. Its always the artist not the instrument. However, on my recent visit to the music store I was pleasantly surprised with the balanced tone this guitar provided. They had a clearance price on it and I pulled the trigger. Thank you for making this video!

As with all your guitar reviews, your playing showcases the sound of the guitar and in this case, this affordable Takamine dreadnaught can definitely deliver a sweet gentle sound when needed. Have to say I don't quite understand why Takamine's own artist seems to showcase his unique shredding technique more than anything else.

I played alot of mid to upper priced takamines (before settling on a Martin hd28) and noticed that they all exhibit great mids and highs. The overall quality/workmanship as expected of Japanese made guitars was perfect.

I was going to buy the Takamine GN93CE, but when I got to the store they had the Dreadnought (GD93CE) in stock.
Having heard it in this review and seeing that it is not as big as I had imagined I bought the Dreadnought and it is an amazing piece of kit sond wise, the tuner works well(was a very important thing for me to have) and it also looks great while sitting around.
My goal with it was to play Christmas carols and getting my daughter interested in music which she enjoys joining me for.
Thank you for putting it in a good light.
I bought it after having owned a Nylon stringed local guitar (Hora Reghin - Spaniol 2) which was great for fingerplay but crap for chords and any acoustic song.

I ended up not getting the Takamine DG93CE because my music store gave me a great deal on an Alvarez DY52 which is an awesome guitar. I got the guitar for the same price as I would have if I had bought the DG93CE. The Alvarez guitar is used and is 42 years old, but really does sound great. I still might get the DG93CE. I did like the takamine I used to have, if the guitar hadn't been heavy and the case to heavy to carry, I would have kept it.

Jon--really superb demo of the GD93. As everyone else has said, extremely good playing, loved it! Thank you for putting it through the paces in all of the playing styles while letting us enjoy your music! I've been on the hunt for an acoustic for months and months, this model seems to deliver the balanced resonance that I've been looking for and the price is right. Yes, the onboard preamp is kind of so-so but I''ll be mic-ing it. I'd love to have a more expensive Taylor, Martin, Guild or Alvarez-Yairi but this will do just fine. It having a thin neck is great and it looks like it's comfortable to play. Thanks for helping me make my mind up on it sir! In the next few months it'll probably be an early Christmas present-ha ha!

Another great Tak and another lovely intro John. Really beautiful quality guitar. China seems to be making a lot of decent quality guitars these days compared to even 5 years ago. It really is a golden age for beginners these days. I notice they no longer have an exciter slide in the new preamps like my old Tak which slides from a nice mellow natural acoustic sound to that familiar sparkly sound with a lot of clarity and presence. It was fantastic for recording. I wonder why they stopped doing this as it did a really great job. Anyway thanks for another great video Jon 👍❤️

I really do like my yamaha, but this takamine does sound quite good. Who knows, I might still get one. I'd love to hear how good a set of elixir medium gauge phosphor bronze strings would sound. I like the tone of the guitar very much.

Hello , I'm on a market looking for my first Martin , but I'm still looking for best options out there....Yes I'm excited to have my first Martin ( if ever I decided to get one ) , on a price of USD699 A Martin GPC-X2E Rosewood GPA would be nice , but also on a same price a GD93CE and GN93CE from Takamine is nice too , so I am torn between 3 of them...I haven't hold any of them and my local Guitar Center didn't have any of them right now , any advice or tips based on experience playing ( if ever ) this 3 guitars?

They are all great guitars but at different price points so it’s really up to you to make the decision ✌️❤️

Recommend me to calibrate the guitar for 0.1 gauge? Would it sound as good as it does in the video or would the sound quality drop?
