Your videos are so fun to watch while I crochet. I always need something to watch when I crochet and this channel is just the gold mine of crochet content.
Instead of trying to weigh the plushie to figure out how much yarn you used, you can weigh the yarn itself. Weigh the ball before you start then weigh the ball again when you’re done, then subtract!
I've started using my scraps as I go. I have 2 scrap WIPs, one continuous granny and one raglan sweater and when I get a scrap from my current project, I immediately add it one of my wips😂
I think I'm in love with that bag I was planning on selling bags nonstop since they're easy just a few granny squares I'm working on a scrap yarn cardigan but I plan on selling bags. IM SO EARLYYY. I love when people use their scrap yarn instead of wasting it! ❤❤❤😊😊
A small tip that helped me with making plushies is switching colors when you slip stitch to finish a row. That way you're already starting the next row with the color you want.
Since you love crocheting granny squares, I think you should do a granny square blanket with (if you have any left) the faux fur outline. Also, this is the first time I've seen your channel❤ You just earned a subscriber🎉
7:11 it’s giving preppy bee (I love its style). 12:57 its giving candy corn (I love candy corn). 22:39 it’s giving fashionista (I love the fashion). Point is I love all of them❤
Hi there! I also recently started grannies as a way to get rid of scraps, after almost 30 years of crocheting. I've been tying in ends as I go, and that makes me feel more accomplished as I join them. Great work!!
First video of yours I found! So cute! I never have any small scrap yarn because I immediately turn them into granny squares. Now I have an idea of what to do with my giant stack of squares.
Make scrunchies with the plush yarn, baskets holding multiple colors with any yarn (5 or more strands), bucket hats with a different color for each stripe - keep up the good work!
One great way to use a lot of yarn fast is holding 2 strands together to make baskets or rugs! Using the 2 strands makes your stitches tighter and the resulting fabric stiffer so your project will have more structure and (hopefully) hold its shape really well
Try the join as you go method for granny squares! I hate having to sew them together because I feel like it’s not strong enough, and sometimes I change my mind on how big of the blanket I want so I use the jayg method to have more control over the size and structure of my blankets. It also creates a really nice swirl/braid effect on the colors and added texture depending on what type of jayg you use!
Talking about the shades, 2nd hand craft stores and some apps I've found have people with vintage yarn. I even found some colorways that I never thought I'd find again because they're over 20 years discontinued. I happened to find some while on a scrap yarn hunt and let's just say the blanket that got started with that yarn is being reclaimed and a new blanket is in the works to align with the skills I had when I first tried to make it. In short, basic stitches to let the colors speak. It won't be fancy, but the blanket is 25 years in the making, so worth it.😁
Definitely make more of those granny stitch hats. Some other projects that are good for scrap yarn are blankets, baskets(double up the yarn for extra strength and durability), and non-color changing, solid granny squares(less cute, but more versatile).
Literally 1 minute into the video I could tell I was gonna love every video u post and subscribed! Keep up the good work and I will probably end up using a pattern from ur Etsy one day!
You can make some small dinosaur or flowers or something like that with the blanket yarn. I know they have things like pocket animals. Sweet softees has several patterns for small animals.
I would take some of the smaller scraps and makes a magic ball... aka random bits of yarn tied together like a variegated skein... and use it to make a beanie and/or scarf. The V-stitch works up fast for scarfs and it would use a significant amount of yarn. (If you're cool making "out of season" stock)
Make baby bear hats with the plushy yarn. I found them on UA-cam. It's a hat with ears added. Just a suggested. Also, adult cat beanies with plushy or velvet hats. Put a fur ball at the top. White, peach and yellow bucket hat.
I loved this! A good yarn eater project that I've been doing lately is the picot bandanas that is by Passionknit Kelsey here on the tubes. They look great with scrap yarn IMO, great vid and I can't wait for part 2!!!😊
First time watching your channel and I love the video 🤍. If you want something that takes up a lot of scrap yarn you could try a scrap yard top or sweater
I kind of had extra yarn and I had it in this big basket and then it got all tangled and I put it in the trash bag so that I can cut it up and put it in the plushies and yeah
Is it just me or her " scrap yarn" is just to me i crochet one thing then i still have yarn becuse after i crochet my " scrap yarn "is the same size as when i first bought it but just now i can still use it keep in mind that I crochet big to medium sized plushies

I can never crochet and watch UA-cam I get too distracted (I clearly cannot multitask) 💔💔💔💔

The great thing about grannies is that unless you want only matching squares you can make them and store them until you want to use them.

I LOVE making granny squares. Glad you are enjoying it.
For the plushy yarn I would. Either make pillowcases or one big blanket, with all the colors, depending on how much you have.
Very cute bag. I was a little worried. But i love it. This is from a 70 year old 😊 you did great
