I did and followed the steps but I get the crash tool screen when loading a game or starting a new game. When I remove REFrame work the game crashes after the last logo when the game starts.@GrownUpGamingGUG
I did it through the launcher, it worked. Just make sure you put the winedlloverride text in the launch options for your rockstar games launcher. Obviously open the launcher through steam.
Hello, thanks for the tutorial. I've ran into a problem and not sure where I've gone wrong. I have the example mod showing in LML under the downloads tab as installed. However, when I click on the mods tab, there is nothing displayed. When launching the game, the mod isn't active. Not sure if its not linked properly. I copied and pasted the launch option from the description and root folder as described. Any advice would be great.
Would you please make a video on how to use Mod Loader 2 on Steam Deck? It's used to mod Elden Ring and Armored Core 6, and I can't get it working because it uses .bat files on Windows. Any ideas would help me quite a bit. Thank you!
Also quick edit - If you do decide to make a video, please focus on Armored Core 6, as that is what has me stumped. Mod Loader 2 was updated with AC6 support, and though the game launches without any issues, it seems like the mods are just not being picked up by the launcher. As far as I can tell, there's no dinput.dll to be had here, either. So I simply don't know.

It works the same for both steam and non-steam versions but I think you're confused about the WINEDLLOVERRIDES part with winecfg. There's an easier way, in the launch options type: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %COMMAND%

I would get mods for steam deck but usually I’m too stupid to understand and I’m afraid to get a virus (which happened to my laptop). How can I make sure that I’m virus free on the steam deck and what do I do if I get one?
I would say don't mod if you're afraid and if you have to mod your game for some reason and you have to be sure it's virus free then go to a public library and borrow their computer and test the mods on the game first and make sure it's safe and probably run some antivirus software. But what's on your steam deck that's so important? I'm just using it as a gaming device. If you do e-banking and put critical data on it then I wouldn't risk it for a game mod 😂
I use the rockstar launcher to play red dead, followed all the steps but the launch options won't work on the launcher, any ideas how to get it working for red dead specifically?

For the love of god i can’t get my Playable Sadie Adler, guntricks, or any other “asi” mod to work. Only thing that works is Rampage trainer. Does it matter that my game is on an SD card?
There are mods that go straight into your directory the mods ends with .asi Like guntricks or unlimited whistle distance for horses. They worked on PC but not on steam deck. Maybe the game was updated awhile back idk. And my sadie adler mods won’t work with LML either way. They also worked with PC.
You just download rampage trainer mod, it's a zip file. Extract it to the root of the game like LML. Since you already have the asi loader installed from LML, rampage trainer just works.
Hey I’d love some help, I’ve followed all of the steps and redone them a few times 😂 and can’t seem to get it to work. The mod loader also doesn’t seem to show any of the mods I’ve downloaded to it once I close the mod loader and reopen it. Although when I try to reinstall it tells me they are there and if I’d like to override and replace them which I’ve also done. Does the code have a space before the %COMMAND%
I was able to get the gun tricks mod working and the game crashed after I played around with it for a bit. Now the game refuses to launch for some reason. Using proton experimental to run the game btw. Do you know if there is a fix? Edit: My mod manager won’t open either sadly
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Ahh sadly another issue has come up. Just to check if everything was working I decided to relaunch the game and I got a message from rockstar social club telling me to go to a support page and I can’t play the game. My opinions with your video still stands though don’t worry ;)

The peds overhaul damage thing was working I could tell because dogs died weird they stayed up frozen when gone 🤣 and people were falling way more realistic .after trying now again it made them stop working 🤣 . I just drag and drop the file into lml folder unzip and most of them work .
Im stuck at 3:08. I opened the "common" folder and can't find the Red Ded Redemption folder. What do i do now? I think the example mod is good to see if you got it working first. If the example mods don't work then no point trying other mods.

Did you watch my videos of reframework and fluffy mod manager for monster hunter rise? It should be the same process.

If the example mod is not working then it's not installed properly, try again.

what about if you decide to delete the mods. do you just delete the files or do you have to delete the whole game and re-download it?
Probably depends on the mod but most mods you can remove the mod.

Use dxgi.dll for dlss uniscaler mod instead of version.dll since it's been used for lml. WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version,dxgi=n,b" %COMMAND%

If you chose to install on your SD card, if it's steam version, should have a directory called steam library.

It didn’t let me get past the adding it to steam it just failed to start

I've done all the steps and the fonts in the game have changed but I can't access the rampage menu. I don't know if I pressed it wrong because I'm not very good at English so I'm not too sure about which button to use. Please help me 😣
You need rampage trainer mod which isn't shown in this video as this video is focused on LML. Try this video ua-cam.com/video/LUoOLR06R74/v-deo.html.

Yes it works both on desktop and gaming mode.
Okay so I've done everything right but the mods won't show up on lml. It says installed but they're not showing up on the mods tab.
Did you try out the example mod?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Yeah I tried the example mod but the lml just won't show the mods or detect the game for some reason. No beeping sounds either when it starts up.

Try hold steam button and use right touchpad as mouse and R2 as left mouse click.

right click the game in lutris and select configure. in the system options tab, scroll down and add it to environment variables.
I would get mods for steam deck but usually I’m too stupid to understand and I’m afraid to get a virus (which happened to my laptop). How can I make sure that I’m virus free on the steam deck and what do I do if I get one?
I would say don't mod if you're afraid and if you have to mod your game for some reason and you have to be sure it's virus free then go to a public library and borrow their computer and test the mods on the game first and make sure it's safe and probably run some antivirus software. But what's on your steam deck that's so important? I'm just using it as a gaming device. If you do e-banking and put critical data on it then I wouldn't risk it for a game mod 😂
its rare for steam decks to get a virus due to them being run on Linux
I use the rockstar launcher to play red dead, followed all the steps but the launch options won't work on the launcher, any ideas how to get it working for red dead specifically?
@@Bob_Brown you mean your game is purchased from rockstar directly right? Mines on steam but I would assume the process is the same just different location.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG yes youre correct i get so far as adding the files to the root folder, but the launch instructions do not work on the rockstar launcher in steam since it has to be directly on the game itself to work, any ideas on this?
@@Bob_Brown how do you launch the launcher though? Through lutris? You can add launch options in lutris.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG ill try through lutris, i added the rockstar launcher as a non steam game then tried to add the launch options through steam for the rockstst launcher, it also wont let you add the .exe for RDR2 directly to steam

I can use it but the trackpad mouse wont work + the touch screen is weird and i have to press somewhere else to click something
Try connecting a keyboard mouse then. I just use the steam button (hold) + right touchpad as mouse and R2 as left mouse click.

For the love of god i can’t get my Playable Sadie Adler, guntricks, or any other “asi” mod to work. Only thing that works is Rampage trainer. Does it matter that my game is on an SD card?
What's the issue?
There are mods that go straight into your directory the mods ends with .asi
Like guntricks or unlimited whistle distance for horses. They worked on PC but not on steam deck. Maybe the game was updated awhile back idk.
And my sadie adler mods won’t work with LML either way. They also worked with PC.

I don't think so but you could try move it to test it out.

I think it would work, just the game location is different. But I don't have the rockstar version to test it out.

How to install Rampage trainer? Also use Lenny mod loader? Need ASI Loader as well?
You just download rampage trainer mod, it's a zip file. Extract it to the root of the game like LML. Since you already have the asi loader installed from LML, rampage trainer just works.

Hey I’d love some help, I’ve followed all of the steps and redone them a few times 😂 and can’t seem to get it to work. The mod loader also doesn’t seem to show any of the mods I’ve downloaded to it once I close the mod loader and reopen it. Although when I try to reinstall it tells me they are there and if I’d like to override and replace them which I’ve also done. Does the code have a space before the %COMMAND%

I was able to get the gun tricks mod working and the game crashed after I played around with it for a bit. Now the game refuses to launch for some reason. Using proton experimental to run the game btw. Do you know if there is a fix?

Maybe something got corrupted? I'd probably clean up the mod files and start fresh.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG Ahh sadly another issue has come up. Just to check if everything was working I decided to relaunch the game and I got a message from rockstar social club telling me to go to a support page and I can’t play the game. My opinions with your video still stands though don’t worry ;)
I'd reinstall everything from scratch and add the mods one by one, maybe you will find out if it's a mod that's causing the issues.
When I fill in the launch option it doesn’t let me load the game, I use the Asus Rog is there anything I need to do differently ?
windows doesn't need to add winedlloverrides launch options.

I don't know what I did when I installed this like 2 months ago but Lenny's mod loader doesn't show the mods I put. I just dragged them into LML drag and drop sometimes unzip them and they work 🤣😭

The peds overhaul damage thing was working I could tell because dogs died weird they stayed up frozen when gone 🤣 and people were falling way more realistic .after trying now again it made them stop working 🤣 . I just drag and drop the file into lml folder unzip and most of them work .
Im stuck at 3:08. I opened the "common" folder and can't find the Red Ded Redemption folder. What do i do now? Im new to all this, and im trying to follow this video step by step, but now im stuck and dont know what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.
Side note: my game file is saved on a microSD card.. maybe thats the issue, which is why it's not showing up in my steam common folder.
Is your game steam version? Open steam and right click the game, select browse folder location.

Did you mean "Steam" through desktop mode on the deck? Im not familiar with Steam at all cause I've always been a console type of guy. This is my first time playing/using a PC type of handheld device.

For some reason when you add the mod loader file as an app I can’t open the app mod loader ui do you know how to fix it
