Mr. Welk and Mr. Cates directed some beautiful music in this show, and the performers used their God-given talents magnificently. Champagne Lady Mrs. Zimmer also hosted the show so well with her positive and sweet disposition; and what a talented painter she was! Most of all I enjoyed the Resurrection hymns at the show's finale. God's blessings to all during the upcoming Holy Week observance and Festival of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!
I agree on the finale, as far as the number of participants. I often enjoy Lido and some of the other long-time veterans come back from their later instrument roles to participate in vocal numbers; whether as lead, singular or--in this case--part of a "mass", regardless of size.
What a great time it was, to watch these family friendly shows with my parents. 👍👍🎯 All we get today is Sex, Violence and Gore, that is warping the minds of today's generation. 👀️🚨
Thank you. They sure gave guest hosts alot of time during the hour back then in the early '90's (according to the copyright date) to host, so good to see that Norma was ready to do so! Was this Larry [Hooper's] last season, or just a "one-off" for him during this season being the Easter episode? He unfortunately passed away about 4 years later, not long after the series finale, yet wondered if he still sang occasionally on any of those '78-9 season episodes if there more often than this special-feature show.
I loved these shows.
I love the LAWRENCE WELK SHOW
Brings back childhood memories of Sat. Night with grandparents, avid Welk viewers
