So.. i’m thinking of going to Seoul through EF intensive course for a whole year, and i honestly have no idea what i should choose as my living situation. Cause i was thinking about the campus but then again a host family would be good since you get to talk and see them everyday etc, but then i feel like i would just be super nervous or something i don’t know :’)))
I stayed in a hostel family and for me this was definitely the better option because you get free food and nice cultural exchange

@@sstephh_ oh no don’t worry I’m pretty sure it’s fine. I end up talking to a lot of people who went w EF and they had really good experiences. But just in case be careful w everything you’re doing, and ask them questions if you’re wondering about something.

i booked about 3 weeks before going so i had to pay all at once, but if you book months in advance i think there is a payment plan option
I'm going to Seoul in June and the closer it gets the more nervous I am. Also, as a male I heard the male to female ratio is very low, is it true? There is so many things I am worried about lmaooo

Yea there is way more girls than guys the whole time I was there I saw about 3-5 but 2 were employees, the front desk is to the left of the entrance trust me you wont miss it! And being nervous is normal trust me you will be ok !

When did they give you a schedule? I’m starting tomorrow and I have no idea at what time I have to be at school and what the programme is 😭
They will give it to you tomorrow at orientation and no worries I'll ask someone I know. When i was there you had to be there at 9 am but I'll confirm and get back to you asap!
Confirmed orientation should be at 9 am at the school
I'm thinking about taking an EF course later this year. Would it be better if I started learning the language prior to taking the course?
they take any level!! however, its always way better to have some basic knowledge, as everyone in the course is from a different part of the world and the language you’ll be speaking most of is the language you’re learning!
I would strongly recommend to avoid EF, worst experience I have ever had!

Hey!! I'm setting off soon, I have a stupid question but no one explicited it.. I know the school gives you the EF exercise book, but do you need to pack your bag like when you go to school? Like, bringing from home any pens, notebooks?
Not stupid at all! i also wasn’t sure at the time, they will give u a small EF notebook and a pen but you definitely should bring your own especially if you are an avid note taker!

do they give you some type of allowance
you can stay as long as you want, however if you are considering coming to Korea to study like that I’d suggest try rolling Korea instead especially if you want to stay more long term, but if you are just wondering about the EF program in general, no they do not provide an allowance I had to pay all of my expenses out of pocket

Is the program (EF) actually good? I’m thinking of going to South Korea with EF however I’ve read so many negative reviews about the company. I’ve heard people were charged extra money, unable to get refunded, and that there’s terrible customer service. What do you think?
Honestly I'd say go with rolling korea, with ef it felt more like we were just getting information dumped on us and just had to repeat for practice where as in rolling korea we are made to actually use it and practice on the fly (aka u had to think about it rather than just repeat ) but that's just my take. It does feel like I'm learning more with RK

The google reviews are spotty cause some ppl hate it some people love. Im going in May for 7 weeks, atp im manifesting good vibes only not even gonna think about it being bad.
I went to nyc with ef and although it isn’t bad I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone.
First of all I agree that the customer service isn’t the best. They make it seem like they really care for you but once your trip is booked you are basically on your own. I’m a minor and I never met any other staff besides my teachers and the kitchen staff. That just felt a little weird to me.
But if you’re a minor like me this is one of the only/better options. I would definitely recommend ef if you really want to learn a language or if you want to stay in a country for a longer period of time and make good friends.
But if you are able to travel alone and don’t really want to learn the language I would recommend doing so, since it will be a lot cheaper.
Although I’m not the biggest fan of ef I’m also considering going to Seoul next spring, would love to hear other peoples experiences from there!
@@liess711 incase you are interested in a program similar to ef for your trip to Seoul I'd definitely say go with rolling korea instead. Hope you have fun on you trip to seoul! : )
I'm thinking about going later this year for a few months (I'm not sure how long I want to go) I'm still deciding between Rolling Korea and EF... maybe EF will be better by the time I'm going lol but I think I would stay in homestay since it comes with it for EF but Rolling Koreas is a mini studio apartment (I'm iffy about both options). I think I'm gonna request a price quotation and see which is cheaper on whole...If anyone else is going to either at the end of this year lmk! (I'm thinking of going in October maybe)
